Good morning.
No.
Don't worry about reaching over for your cell phone or turning on your computer.
Do not worry about your email or the text messages that are waiting for you.
They will be there when you're done.
Just lay back right where you are and breathe.
Do not try to control your breath.
It is doing just fine on its own.
Instead place one hand on your belly and the other on your chest.
Smile as you gently rock your body back and forth to settle yourself a little bit further into your pillows and just practice your waking Buddha breath.
Smile as you breathe and feel that smile spread across your face.
As you breathe slowly in through your nose,
Feel the air flow down past the back of your throat down deep into your lungs.
Feel that smile attach itself to your breath as you fill yourself up with the joy of the morning.
Notice how only the hand on your stomach moves as you draw air in and down using your diaphragm.
Be aware of the hand on your chest,
How it does not move with each inhale and exhale that you take.
Feel the air settle deeply into your lungs for a moment or two before releasing it back out into the world around you.
Enjoy the feeling of your belly expanding.
Feel your belly expand with each inhale.
Beginning your morning with that wonderful Buddha belly this exercise was named for.
This is all about relaxing into your day,
Into your morning as you fill yourself with the fresh oxygen and give your breath,
Your body and your mind a chance to wake naturally.
As you breathe allow your mind to wander to the positive thoughts of your day,
To the pleasant thoughts of your morning.
If that nagging voice comes into your head telling you that you do not have time to breathe,
That you have more important things to do,
Simply smile as you acknowledge that voice and then let it go.
Return your attention again and again to your breath and the feeling of that wonderful Buddha belly that you're creating every time you inhale,
Every time you let go.
I will strike a chime in three minutes.
Until then simply breathe and relax and enjoy the wonderful Buddha belly as you fill yourself with love and air for your day.
Bye bye!
Welcome back.
Continue to breathe.
Continue to smile.
Slowly open your eyes whenever you're ready and welcome yourself to your day.
Look around you,
At the bed,
At your pillows,
At the hand that remains on your chest unmoved,
At the hand on your belly that continues to move slowly and evenly.
With each breath you take,
Do not hurry.
But whenever you're ready,
Enjoy your day.
Be well.
