Greetings and welcome to this grounding meditation.
Before we begin,
Just making sure that the body is as comfortable as possible,
Whether seated or lying down.
And beginning by taking a slow,
Relaxed,
Deep breath in.
And as you release the breath,
Closing or softening the eyes.
Starting with the eyes closed or softened,
Tuning into the space around you first by feeling the weight of your physical body gently pressing down into the floor,
The mat,
The chair,
Wherever you are.
Feeling the weight of the arms or the hands in the lap or at your side.
And then shifting your awareness to any sounds that you hear around you near or far.
And throughout this meditation,
Not resisting any sounds that you hear,
But allowing them to gently come and go.
Not a distraction but simply being present and in the moment.
Then tuning into your natural breath,
So not changing the quality of the breath,
But tuning into how your physical body responds to each inhale and exhale.
As you inhale,
You may feel the belly expanding like a balloon.
As you inhale,
You may feel the rib cage opening and expanding as the air fills your lungs.
And as you inhale at the top of the inhalation,
Maybe feeling the shoulders rise towards the sky ever so slightly.
And as you exhale,
Now tuning into the opposite.
At the beginning of the exhalation,
Feeling the shoulders sinking down towards the earth.
As you exhale,
Feeling the rib cage closing in towards the heart as the air leaves your lungs.
And as you exhale,
Feeling the belly deflating now like a balloon.
But with each inhale and exhale,
Feeling your physical body becoming more and more relaxed.
And just taking a moment to acknowledge how your meditation practice not only benefits you,
But it benefits everyone and everything that you come in contact with.
If at any moment you become distracted by sound or thought,
Just acknowledge that you were distracted,
But then very gently bringing the awareness back to the breath.
And now I invite you to bring awareness to the very top of the head and to begin scanning down the body very slowly,
Just tuning in to how you're feeling physically in this moment.
No judgment,
No expectation,
But just tuning in to how you're feeling in this moment.
So scanning down from the face to the neck and the arms,
The chest,
The upper back,
The stomach,
The lower back,
Moving down to the legs,
The ankles and the feet.
Once you've completed your scan,
Just bringing the awareness back to the breath,
Back to that gentle rising and falling.
Now in your mind,
I'd like for you to imagine that you're seated beneath a huge tree.
Your back rests against its trunk.
You sit beneath a canopy of leaves,
Shading you from the sun,
Allowing you to feel comfortable,
Relaxed and at peace.
With your back against the trunk of this tree,
You feel an energy of grounding.
You feel the energy of the roots beneath this tree stretching down into the earth beneath you.
These roots allow the tree to remain in place,
To remain connected to the earth,
To be solid and still and grounded no matter what goes on around it.
Winds may blow,
Rain may fall,
But this tree remains grounded.
As you inhale,
Feel yourself drawing in and absorbing that energy of grounding.
And as you exhale,
Feel yourself releasing anything that you do not want in your mind,
In your body or in your spirit.
Just take a few moments into this space,
Connecting with your true self and enjoying this energy of grounding.
It's this.
You you you you you you you you you you you you you you and slowly bringing awareness back to your physical body simply by wiggling fingers and toes very slowly and once again tuning into the space around you first by allowing any sounds that you hear around you to slowly drift into awareness and feeling the weight of the physical body pressing very gently down towards the earth and taking a slow,
Relaxed deep breath in and exhale slow,
Relaxed deep breath in and exhale and one more slow,
Relaxed deep breath in and exhale while very slowly opening eyes and bringing full awareness back into your space and just taking a moment to tune into how you're feeling and hopefully you're feeling a bit more relaxed at peace and hopefully more grounded and know that you can return to that feeling and that energy of grounding simply by connecting with the breath doing something as simple as feeling the connection of the earth beneath your feet but know that that energy is always there,
Always available when you need it I thank you for joining me and until the next time walking in peace remaining present and sharing light namaste
