A Practice For Releasing Trauma

If you experience bouts of panic, frequently or on occasion, are likely familiar with the accompanying fluttering heart, uneasy breathing, racing thoughts, and tightness in the jaw, throat, or other areas of the body. These attacks are also often accompanied by imagining the worst possible outcomes or feelings of low self-worth, and all you want is for the brain games and other unpleasantness to stop, then this meditation may help.

You're seeding that physical space where you are right now with spiritual vibrations.

The light from within you,

The chi or the prana is beginning to engulf the space around you.

Loving your breathing to be natural,

Five in,

Slightly longer,

Seven out.

Whenever you're experiencing the relentless recurring of the traumatic thoughts or something that's happened and will not let you go,

Here is a meditation to help clear that,

That works miracles for me.

Now from the state of being clear and calm,

I want you to relive that situation.

Picture every detail that you can remember.

Notice the emotions that you're experiencing and feel them,

Feel them as strongly as you possibly can.

Let's stay with those feelings for about half a minute and during this time you're welcome to vocalize those feelings,

Grunt,

Moan,

If that helps.

Now,

I want you to go ahead and drop the story.

Drop the story but continue to feel the emotions.

Try doing this and you'll find it nearly impossible to hold on to the feelings without the story.

Every time the story tries to creep back into your mind,

Just bring your focus back to the awareness of the feelings,

The raw feelings that you're experiencing.

Don't allow your mind to sabotage you.

Focus on your feelings.

Be alert to the emotional charge being released a little at a time.

Now I want you to invoke gratitude with these positive affirmations.

As I speak them,

I want you to repeat them and feel them inside yourself.

I choose to feel good.

Joy is my natural state.

I focus on action to create the life I want and I know the smallest step can end years of stagnation.

I love the creative energy that flows through me.

I have the power to shape my ideal reality.

You may be noticing slowly,

Feeling the sensation of loving energy activating your body.

You may be feeling a whisper of inner peace and joy.

I want you to please put your palms together in prayer position at your heart center.

I want you to rub your palms against each other,

Creating friction to kindle,

Activate the prana,

The life force.

Nice brisk rub,

You will feel a warmth.

And when you feel like you've got a nice bundle of warm energy ignited between your palms,

I want you to go ahead and cup both your eyes,

One with each palm.

And bless yourself.

I am safe.

I am love.

And joy is my natural state.

And then go ahead and put your palms out facing forward as if you're sending a blessing.

And now as an act of compassion,

Let us go ahead and gift this chi,

Send this vibration,

This positivity out to someone,

Some place or some people that could use this energy,

Use some light of healing.

Imagine being a conduit to the divine light,

The supreme light above you.

There's this light that showers down on you,

Through you,

Washing you and then out of you through your palms.

Imagine them coming out like a beam,

Going towards that person,

People or place.

May they know that their natural state is of joy.

May they feel good and the troubles in their life end.

May they have the power to shape their reality.

May they have this suckling theme.

Take a bow of gratitude.

Bow of gratitude for everyone and everything that made this moment possible.

And notice how you're feeling right now.

What would that be?

I was able to feel my emotions, although not without difficulty. The difficulty was first, to move past the wall of numbness around my heart...I struggled, but I did actually feel the emotions. Reminding myself that I am now safe, and then, being able to send strength to a loved one in need, felt right. I had been triggered by events in my loved ones life, unable to stop my thinking self, my anxious self, from fearing the worst for them. Being able to recognize what feelings and events in my own past thar had been triggered, truly made this process complete. Thank you. πŸ™
