Blue Bindu Heart Worship
An immersive meditation using the natural breath to discover stillness in aliveness and aliveness in stillness. Finishes with the chanting of Om Mā and the possibility of experiencing continuity and intimacy between yourself and the world. This practice was recorded live.
Transcript
We'll start by chanting three OMs,
Letting the M sound be longer than the O sound,
And experiencing that wave of OM moving out from the center of our body everywhere.
So from the center of our legs and feet,
Our torso,
Our arms and fingers,
The center of our neck and our head.
Feel that wave of vibration of OM moving outward,
Clearing out experiences of density and obstruction,
And allowing us to feel more alive,
More porous,
More receptive,
Lighter.
And then when that wave hits the surface of our skin,
Feeling that the skin is also alive and is a place of exchange and continuity with our environment rather than a boundary.
OM can do all that.
AASH AASH Barre Aum Feel your breath moving in and out of your nostrils as you inhale and exhale.
Feel the texture of your breath as you inhale and exhale.
Feel the coolness of the breath as you inhale and the relative warmth as you exhale.
Do not observe the breath,
Feel the breath.
Feel the coolness of the breath hitting the back of your throat as you inhale.
Feel your shoulders and your chest expanding as you inhale and falling gently inward as you exhale.
Don't observe the breath,
Feel your body,
Feel the breath.
Feeling your upper chest and your shoulders gently expanding outward and relaxing inward as you inhale and exhale.
As you inhale,
Feeling the coolness of the breath inside your nostrils,
Feel the breath moving into the middle abdomen which expands 360 degrees around as you inhale and then gently falls inward as you exhale.
Feel your shoulders,
Your upper chest,
Your middle abdomen expanding gently as you inhale all the way around 360 degrees.
And gently moving inward,
Gently falling inward as you exhale.
Now feel your lower abdomen,
Your belly,
The sides of your lower abdomen,
Your sacrum in the back,
Gently expanding,
Filling with air as you inhale and gently falling inward as you exhale.
Now feel your whole torso from the base up to your shoulders,
Gently expanding and then gently falling inward as you exhale.
Feel the liveliness of the breath entering all your organs and tissues as you inhale.
And feel that liveliness spreading out from the center as you exhale.
Feel the breath moving into your thighs from your hips down to your knees.
Feel the sense of liveliness entering your thighs and the feeling of expansion as you inhale and moving inward and resting as you exhale.
Feel the breath moving into your lower legs and your feet,
Even into your toes as you inhale,
Feel liveliness in your toes.
Feel the sense of expansion from your shoulders down to the tips of your toes as you inhale and a gentle falling inward,
Relaxing and spreading as you exhale.
Now feel the breath moving into the arms,
The hands and the fingers.
Feel that liveliness and expansion as you inhale,
Relaxation and spreading as you exhale.
Feel the breath moving into your neck and your head,
Your face,
Even your ears as you inhale.
Gentle feeling of lifting as you inhale and relaxing downward and spreading outward as you exhale.
Now feel your whole body breathing and being moved by the breath from the top of your head to the tips of your fingers and toes.
Now as you inhale,
Feel the gap between the inhale and the exhale.
Everywhere in your body,
Feel the inhale,
The liveliness and expansion of that inhale.
As you reach the end of the inhale,
Before you exhale again,
Feel a sense of suspension,
A small gap,
A small moment of suspension,
Of dynamic stillness in your whole body before the exhale begins.
Be aware of your whole body,
The sensation of the breath,
Of life,
Of aliveness moving into your body as you inhale,
The gentle expansion outward 360 degrees in every part of your body.
And then in a natural moment without forcing anything,
You reach the end of your inhale and there's a moment,
A small gap where everywhere in your body,
You feel a sense of stillness and aliveness.
And then you exhale.
And now as you exhale and you feel that sense of falling downward and inward relaxation spreading at the end of the exhale before you inhale again,
Feel a sense of restful dynamic stillness in your whole body and the gap between the exhale and the inhale.
And now as you inhale and exhale,
Experience every part of the breath,
All of the feelings of breathing,
Feeling the coolness of the breath as you inhale,
Feeling your whole body from the tips of your fingers to the tips of your toes and the top of your head,
Filling with prana,
With life,
With liveliness as you inhale,
Expanding outward in all directions and then exhaling and feeling a sense of spreading,
Falling relaxation.
And in between the inhale and the exhale,
As you are in a state of expansion,
Feeling that moment between the inhale and the exhale,
A moment of dynamic stillness in every part of your body.
And then as you exhale,
Feeling a moment of relaxed dynamic stillness between the exhale and the inhale,
Continue to breathe naturally without forcing anything,
Feeling all parts of the breath,
The inhale,
The gap,
The exhale,
The gap,
Letting your mind merge with all of these sensations of liveliness,
Spaciousness,
Expansion,
Contraction,
Spreading relaxation.
Try not to lose contact with that living presence of the breath.
Let's buckle up.
Okay.
Thanks.
Saman condoms.
And now bring your awareness to the center of your heart space,
The very center of your chest,
The cave of the heart.
Let your mind come to rest there,
Your sense of self.
And now as you're breathing,
Inhaling and exhaling,
Feel that you're not just breathing with your nose,
But you're breathing with your whole body.
And you're breathing inward into that heart space,
Experiencing that gap,
That sun tea,
A dynamic stillness in the heart space,
And then exhaling out 360 degrees through your entire body and experiencing that sun tea,
That gap outside of your body at the end of the exhale,
All around you,
That restful dynamism.
Inhaling through every pore of your body,
From the tips of your toes and fingers to the top of your head,
Inhaling right into the heart space,
Feeling that sense of dynamic stillness there,
Exhaling out 360 degrees and experiencing the sun tea,
The gap at the end of the breath everywhere around you,
The sense of restfulness,
Even as the whole world is around you.
Now in the center of your chest,
See emerge a small,
Brilliant golden egg,
A small egg made of golden molten light,
About the tip,
About the size of the first digit of your thumb,
A luminous,
Magnetizing golden egg.
Feel that you're nothing but a field of liveliness and at the center is this golden egg.
And now as you breathe in from everywhere,
360 degrees,
Breathe in and meet that golden egg and as you exhale,
Feel that you're exhaling from that golden egg.
Again experiencing at the end of the breath,
At the end of the exhale,
A dynamic stillness and relaxation all around you and as you inhale,
Feeling that dynamic stillness inside of you and the gap between the inhale and the exhale.
Let your mind be magnetized by the beauty of that golden egg.
And now as we exhale,
We're going to chant Aum,
Feeling that the vibration,
The sound of Aum is moving out from that golden egg,
360 degrees.
And at the end of that exhale,
At the end of the Aum,
Experiencing the whole world emerging and yet still experiencing that dynamic stillness that pervades all of existence.
And then as we inhale,
We're going to silently chant Ma,
Ma.
And at the end of Aum,
At the end of Ma,
We'll be at the golden egg and we'll just be experiencing that.
So Aum out loud on the exhale coming from the golden egg,
Outside of our bodies ending,
Feeling the whole world and all beings around us and yet everything permeated by that dynamic stillness in the Sun-T between the exhale and the inhale.
And then as we inhale,
Silently Ma,
Feeling our whole self being filled with that mantra Ma,
The center of which is the golden egg,
And feeling that dynamism and stillness inside of us,
Permeated by the light of the golden egg.
So take an inhale.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Aum.
Um Um Aum Try to experience all four parts of the breath and as you inhale MA,
Feel the glory of MA filling your whole body at the center of which is that luminous golden egg.
Aum Aum Aum Aum Aum Aum Aum Aum Aum Aum Continue breathing,
Feeling all four parts of the breath,
Feeling that dynamic stillness and restfulness everywhere in the midst of life,
In the midst of your life.
There is no difference between inside and outside.
Everything is full of that.
Aum Aum Thank you everybody for joining in this morning with heart worship.
Don't forget to integrate this practice with the rest of your day,
Trying to remain in the state of your practice,
Whatever state you're in right now for as long as possible.
And when you get distracted,
Trying to drop back into the state of the practice,
Using any part of the practice to help you to do that or any other practices we've done in morning worship,
Or just remembering and relaxing and being in your heart space and seeing how that changes how your day goes,
How you relate to people,
How your work goes or whatever it is that you're doing today.
