Mountain Meditation We can practice this meditation by sitting on chair or meditation cushion.
Taking your position with your back straight,
Head up,
Releasing your shoulders and placing your arms in lap or on your knees.
Taking couple of breaths,
Breathing in and out.
There is no need to change your breath anyhow,
Just breathe as it is comfortable for you right now.
Shifting your attention now down to your belly,
Observing tiny movements of our body as we are breathing in and breathing out.
Imagining now a mountain,
It might be a small one or a really high mountain.
If you don't have any favorite mountain,
Just choose one from books or movies and imagining it.
You can see the top of the mountain,
Slopes,
Down to the valley.
The weather of mountains is changing quite often and fast.
How is it in spring?
Snow is slowly melting,
There are more and more warm days,
But still sometimes there may be heavy snow coming.
Then the summer is coming.
There is almost no snow on the mountain anymore.
There are warm days even on the top of the mountain.
Even in summer there might be thunderstorms covering the whole mountain.
Then the autumn is coming with all its colors.
But also there are colder days,
Rains and sometimes snow.
And then the winter is here.
There are freezing snow and thunderstorms and it is difficult to stay all day long on the mountain.
And despite all the changes of the weather,
The mountain inside is still whatever is going outside and is changing,
The mountain is still standing.
There are even people coming from close or from far,
Far away to see the mountain,
Because they appreciate the majestic view,
The stability of the mountain.
And so you can use the image of the mountain and imagining you are becoming the mountain.
Your head is top of the mountain,
The corpus of your body slopes off the mountain,
And your legs are the bottom of the mountain.
You are becoming the mountain.
And whatever is going on in your life,
Your personal life,
In the workplace,
Be it pleasant or unpleasant,
It will change in the time.
Similarly as the weather on the mountain,
Whatever might be going on in your life right now,
You can stay still inside and stable as your mountain.
You can feel the power and the energy of the mountain as it is standing still.
And whenever you will need it,
You can imagine a picture of your mountain.
You can become the mountain.
You can connect to the inner peace and stillness.
And as our practice is going to its end,
You can take a couple more breaths,
And then slowly opening your eyes.
