Come to a comfortable seat,

Taking your time to wiggle the soft,

Fleshy areas surrounding the sits bones out from underneath you so you can come to rest steady and solid on those sits bones.

Maybe if you're fidgeting,

Maybe you take some time to shake the energy out of your hands,

Maybe you roll your neck out,

And on your own time,

Come into stillness,

Come into solidity and steadiness.

Situations can face up for receiving or down for grounding.

And without rushing it or changing it,

Begin to notice your breath,

The natural rhythm,

An exchange of air between you and your environment.

By the breath,

We are connected to our surroundings with a continuous exchange of air and all that lies within that air.

When we become stressed throughout the day,

Throughout our lives,

The breath unconsciously quickens,

Activating our sympathetic fight or flight nervous system.

Here in meditation,

You are safe,

You are solid,

And we can allow the breath to slow down and activate the parasympathetic nervous system that rests and digests.

That allows us to recover,

To integrate our experiences,

And to lead from a place of patience.

So be patient with your breath.

Be patient with the patterns of the mind as you begin to notice them without judgment,

Without condemnation,

And without approval,

Simply allowing them to be.

When you do notice these thoughts,

Visualize a cloud gently forming around them,

And then watch as that cloud drifts away in nature's own time with patience.

The breath in and out through the nose,

Maybe deepening and elongating the breath without forcing it,

Allowing the process of deepening your breath to take its own time.

We move with nature,

With the natural flow of things.

When we live this way,

We stop expecting and start allowing.

We stop the hustle and the bustle,

And we align.

There is no tree in nature that needs the encouragement of anyone else to grow as tall as it can and to spread its branches and leaves as far as it can.

It just does it,

Because that is the way of nature.

We as humans are the only beings of creation that shirk away from our full potential,

Limited by beliefs,

By our domestication,

By our culture.

If we only allowed nature to have its way,

We would bloom into our brightest,

Fullest expressions.

We would grow as tall as we came here to grow,

Effortlessly,

Effortlessly.

Have patience with yourself.

Have patience with those around you.

Whenever you feel rushed,

Whenever you feel strapped for time,

Remember that the river washes into rapids at times and as others gently bubbles as a brook and eventually washes into the gentle yet powerful ocean,

And at each of these stages there is no effort.

There is only flow,

Flow dictated by the terrain.

The flow is guided by nature.

Allow yourself to be guided by nature as well.

Allowing the breath to pass in,

Flow out,

Like the flow of a rising and falling tide with nowhere to be except to be.

You can remain in meditation as long as you wish,

And you are ready to arise.

Take this patience,

Take this flow out into the world and through your expression of life.
