Feeling anxious and nervous? Perhaps about to perform? This active meditation is designed to quickly and easily calm, focus, center, and ground you so that you can give your best. With practice, you can do this on your own within a minute. This has even been used by elite athletes prior to competing to focus, ground and go on to win top medals. For a longer version, please see my 12-minute "HELP Stress & Anxiety Buster" meditation on Insight Timer. Pose Instructions: 1. Cross your left ankle over your right. Extend your arms out in front of you, palms facing outward and thumbs pointed down. Cross your right hand over your left, interlace your fingers, and turn your hands in and up so that your hands are resting under your chin. Now place the tip of your tongue behind the ridge on the roof of your mouth. 2. Set your feet flat on the floor. Place your fingers in a steeple position, prayer-like without the palms touching while still touching your tongue to the roof of your mouth.
