So welcome everybody,
Philip Wade here from North Yorkshire in England.
Welcome to tonight's stream.
Listen,
Say yes and commit.
Anyway,
Good,
So we'll get going then folks.
Welcome to you all wherever you are in the world.
So this is yet another self-realisation stream.
This one fits very well with the stream that was called Trust the Heart.
Trust the Heart and the audio replay of that is now available on Insight Timer.
The reason I've called this one,
Given it this title,
Came to me,
A consciousness,
I think it was a week or so ago whenever I put the stream on Insight Timer,
Reminded me of an event I actually attended in what I now call my former life or my previous life when I was a chartered civil engineer and director of a business.
And I want to tell you a little story and then explain how that fits in with spiritual self-realisation on the journey of life itself.
So in those days we used to have,
I was in a senior position in the business,
Used to have conferences every now and again where people from around the business across the UK would come together.
And quite frequently actually we used to use,
And I think it was this particular outfit that did this one,
A business called Actors in Industry,
Actors in Industry,
And they were genuine actors and part of their work was to go out into businesses in industry using their acting skills to help convey messages as part of conferences for those businesses.
And as I say we used them a few times and they were always very good.
And on this one occasion where,
I think it was a couple of days this conference,
They were playing back messages to us from what they've been observing the conference,
Picking up on the key messages and playing back those messages to us in a unique way that only actors can really.
And what they did was very,
Very impressive.
Without any rehearsal whatsoever,
There'd be say three or four of them,
They're in front of us all.
And one of them would start off by saying something that was connected with our conference and they'd simply play that all out and another actor would simply respond to that.
And in front of you purely spontaneously would appear a play based on what we'd been discussing in the conference,
Including the key messages.
And it all just unfolded effortlessly as if it had been rehearsed a thousand times.
It was quite astonishing to watch and it couldn't possibly have been rehearsed because literally the conference was only a couple of days long.
And it was just amazing to sort of see how they created this play.
And it was quite funny,
But also had the key messages in there.
And it was,
As I say,
It was brilliant really.
And it worked really well for a conference of fairly hardened civil engineers.
That was what the civil engineering business was like,
And it used to go down really well.
Now,
They explained to us having done that a few times,
That the trick to being able to do this as actors,
To be able to sort of play that back,
Create this improvised play on the spot with the key messages from the conference,
Was actually the title of this live stream,
Listen,
Say Yes,
And Commit.
And it's with that little mantra in their consciousness that they used to be able to do this.
And I remember reflecting upon this that they shared with us at the time,
And we were given the opportunity to have a go at it ourselves,
By the way.
Going over to the leader,
This was well before the days I realized I was going to be doing whatever it was I'm doing now,
But I was already involved in energy work,
Shall we say,
In my spare time at the weekends.
And I went over to them,
And it struck a chord with me,
This Listen,
Say Yes,
And Commit.
And I went over to him and shared with him,
And said,
You know,
This message that you're conveying here,
Listen,
Say Yes,
And Commit,
About how you do this,
It's much broader than that,
Isn't it?
Actually,
It's a great message for how to live life from your heart.
And the chap turned around to me said,
I absolutely love it when somebody gets the deeper meaning of our message,
To listen,
To say yes,
And commit.
I absolutely loved it.
And it turned out,
Actually,
That all of the actors,
And I think there were three or four of them from memory,
It was a lot of years ago now,
Were actually all Reiki masters.
And some of you may be,
You know,
All Reiki masters,
And some of you may be practice Reiki.
And they did this acting,
But also they did energy work and so forth,
As part of their business,
But also conveying messages.
And he absolutely was delighted that I'd seen this.
It doesn't happen very often,
But when somebody gets it,
He absolutely loves it.
And I really,
This all came back to my consciousness a couple of weeks ago,
When I put the stream on that,
And I thought I really need to speak to people about this in the context of trusting the heart and the process of spiritual self-realization.
Because we're so used to in life,
And been so conditioned in life,
To listen to what's going on up in our heads,
The thoughts,
The beliefs that come out of that,
And end up suffering as a result.
But really,
The process of life,
And realization of the self,
And bringing an end to suffering,
And the realization of the highest truth of whom you really are,
That I refer to as infinite silence,
Or infinite awareness,
Or infinite consciousness,
Is actually all about this title,
Listen,
Say yes,
And commit.
And the listening here is not about listening to the noise,
But it's about listening to the quiet,
The stillness,
The inner voice.
And to do that,
Listening in this context means being silent.
And actually watching those actors,
They were silent in listening to each other.
They were very focused on listening carefully to what it was that was being said.
They were still,
One could see that,
They weren't also trying to analyze what was being said,
Or in any way judging what was being said.
They simply just witnessed.
And the same is true when it comes to meditation,
To just simply listen and be still,
And become aware of the messages,
The the awarenesses that are arising from the silence within.
So that,
This is really fundamental as far as self-realization is concerned,
Because you'll never get there by listening to what the noise that's going up on here,
The thoughts,
The beliefs,
All of the nonsense.
As I've said many times over the streams,
The train of thought will take you to many stations,
But none of them,
None of them are your truth.
So the first part is about listening,
Being silent,
And that's what meditation is all about.
We don't try to force the mind to be quiet,
We simply,
As we've done in many exercises over the streams,
Recognize that what's going on,
Both in the mind,
The body,
And whatever,
Are all phenomena appearing in front of awareness.
And that process alone is a listening process.
We're switching from transmit to receive.
Did you hear what I said there?
We're switching from transmit to receive,
And that one change is fundamental as far as living peacefully and realizing the self is concerned.
So that's the first part of what the actors were doing,
Was simply listening,
Being completely present to that situation,
That moment in life,
Being still,
Being silent,
Not judging what is happening in front of them,
And simply witnessing.
And I've used that witnessing word a lot over the however many streams we've done now.
Now the say yes part is equally fundamental,
Because as one truly goes into meditation,
Many things,
As we've discussed over the streams,
Will arise.
It could be an insight,
It could be,
As some of you have experienced,
Emotions,
Resistance,
Many different possibilities can arise as one stills and rests in awareness.
Now the key is to say yes to all of it.
This isn't about condoning,
It's about accepting.
This yes is an acceptance,
A total acceptance of whatever's here,
Is here,
And it's here for a reason.
Just like the actors in their improvised play couldn't change what the other person or people were doing,
They simply had to accept what was there,
Listen carefully,
To it,
Say yes to it,
Not wish they'd done it differently,
Not judging it,
Say like in meditation where resistance comes up,
Not trying to analyze it,
Just simply,
Totally,
Utterly embracing,
Accepting,
No wishing it were different,
No resistance.
And from this inner yes,
Just like the actors,
The natural response comes.
And they were amazing in their responses that they did this.
But the natural response as an insight emerges,
Say in meditation,
Quite often insights are surprising in their nature.
And it might be inviting you to recognize or embrace something that you wouldn't possibly have conceived of from some other place.
And this is also part of the yes,
Going with that.
And let's say it's an insight or an inspiration,
Which I've said on the Trust the Heartstream fields,
Uplifting,
Inviting,
Expansive,
Often surprising in nature,
Then totally and utterly accepting that insight and then committing to it in your life.
Now,
When you do that,
The results can be profound.
But what tends to happen,
Because of years of conditioning going on in the mind is whether it be five minutes,
10 minutes,
15 minutes,
An hour,
Two hours,
A day,
A week later,
Mind will try to kick back in and dissuade you.
What you have to remember is what that inspiration,
That insight was,
How that felt in that moment.
And if doubt and fear kicks in,
And the our books of the mind is to face those head on using the transmuting fear into love process I spoke about in that live stream,
Which is also available on replay and audio,
Dissolve the resistance,
Dissolve the doubts,
Dissolve the issues coming up.
But still,
With all of your being,
Commit to that insight,
That invitation,
That inspiration.
The same is true if emotional energy comes up,
Or stuff that may be difficult to face.
And we've all experienced a lot of that,
It's part of the human experience.
But it's the power of awareness is what's going to dissolve that.
So if that does arise,
The key,
As I've explained in depth on the transmuting fear and love stream,
Is not to run away from it,
It's to say yes to it.
Yes,
This is here,
Not to challenge me,
But to invite me to face it,
Trust the power of awareness with the totality of my being.
And simply with the power of that awareness alone,
It will be dissolved it will be dissolved and resolved.
So this listen,
Say yes,
And commit is actually fundamental to the process of self-realisation,
The process of life,
Living from your heart,
And saying yes to that.
And not in any way being half-hearted about it.
The key thing to be interested in,
As far as self-realisation is concerned,
Is a phrase I use quite a lot when I'm guiding people one-to-one.
And it's this,
To be only interested in the highest and greatest good.
The highest and greatest good.
Because what's that in the highest and greatest good for you?
It turns out,
Life being the perfect process that it is,
It's actually in the highest and greatest good for everybody else.
Some may not recognise that and think it should be different,
But if you're clear from the meditative space and that the issues surrounding it have been resolved,
And you know that your heart's calling you to a particular course of action,
Then committing to that totally is going to unfold the highest and greatest good for you.
And it's going to invite more and more of that to come,
Naturally.
And the more effective you get at committing to that,
And the more committed that you are to it,
With the totality of your being,
The faster the process will be.
It will be normal for doubts,
Fears and so forth to crop up,
But facing those head-on and trusting awareness is part of that same commitment.
And we're all here for the reason,
Ultimately,
Of realising who we really are.
So for that to happen,
We must totally and utterly,
Like the title of the stream,
Listen to life.
And we are life,
Life eternal,
Infinite silence,
Infinite awareness.
Say yes to that.
Make that the central point in life and commit totally to it.
For it is in this way,
Really,
Ultimately,
Only in this way,
That we will realise the essence and we can make the journey along that path.
We will experience it as a journey,
Because we experience things in time.
We will make the journey easier.
That's not to say there won't be issues to be resolved and dissolved by virtue of all that's gone before.
But if we can listen,
Say yes and commit totally,
It is that that's going to bring about the realisation of the Self,
The true experience of peace from your heart.
The commitment must be total,
Not only on a Tuesday,
Or I'll have the weekend off.
It must be the inner yes,
The inner commitment,
24-7.
And yes,
We may stray a little bit from time to time.
But if we keep on coming back,
Keep on coming back,
What was it that brought me here?
What was it that I'm being inspired to do?
And many of you,
I know,
That are committing from tomorrow,
A fishing start day,
Some of you have already committed,
To the 28-day meditation programme using the internet,
Science meditation.
And that's great.
Now that commitment,
The inspiration to do that,
Ultimately comes from your heart.
And the commitment to that for yourself,
As I mentioned on the last stream,
Isn't a commitment to me.
It's a commitment to you as life,
For you are life and life eternal.
So listen,
Say yes and commit,
Not in a half-hearted way,
But in a total way,
To completely and utterly open to what life,
Life within you is seeking to communicate,
Seeking to express,
Seeking to be realised in your form.
So this,
Again,
Comes back to the title,
Listen,
Say yes and commit.
And hence the title of the stream.
And I just thought it's such a powerful and short message about the whole process of self-realisation.
It wasn't something I was thinking about,
It just came to me.
And I remembered the scenario I've described to you earlier,
I thought I must share this,
I must share this with people.
Because it ultimately is the heart that's going to keep you going.
And you know,
The heart,
It never lies.
It never lies.
I cover some of these insights,
Some of these insights,
I'm just going to repeat briefly here in greater depth on the Trust the Heart replay that's now available.
The heart never lies.
Also,
I explained in depth why the heart can bear it all.
The heart is infinitely powerful.
And when we talk of broken heart,
It's actually not the heart that's broken.
It's the identity,
It's the ego that's broken.
And then I also said another insight,
Which I'm just going to repeat briefly,
Living from the heart is living in the mystery.
In fact,
The mystery here is life and we are in fact,
The mystery.
So,
Listen,
Say yes and commit is about total commitment to living from the heart space.
So I just wanted to give you that in a wholly different way tonight,
As a little something that you can remember to bring into your life.
This little phrase,
The title of the stream is profoundly beneficial and important.
And you can check the decisions that you're making in life day to day,
Moment to moment.
Do they fit with what my heart is saying to me?
Am I listening to what the heart's saying?
Am I saying yes to it?
And am I committing totally to it?
Or am I moving backwards and forwards,
Hopping about?
So it's just all that makes sense to you.
And I'll just have a brief pause here just to say thank you for the donations from Grace Light,
Blossom and Ruth,
And also Joyce.
I can see donations from all of you,
So much appreciated.
They benefit obviously me,
But also Insight Timer.
So I'm very grateful for that,
Because this platform I just find is amazing.
Having done many live streams elsewhere,
The focus here is just so much more beneficial I've found and so much more commitment.
So what I'd like to do now is do a little meditation exercise and then I'll transition that into the full meditation.
And if anybody's got any questions about what I've shared,
Then we can come to that.
So if you're all good to go with that,
Let's just close our eyes now.
And as you close your eyes,
Just simply,
Just like I've been talking about,
Notice what's here.
What phenomena are here now?
Could be sensations,
Emotions,
Feelings,
A breath.
Maybe this thoughts here too.
And just simply,
Silently silently watching,
Witnessing,
Without any judgment,
Without any analysis.
All these phenomena are being watched,
Observed,
Witnessed.
They're appearing in front of awareness.
Maybe changing,
Moving these phenomena,
But awareness just watches.
Just notice the phenomena may change,
But does that which sees,
Witnesses the phenomena,
Does that change?
Or does it simply watch?
Videos.
Videos.
Eventually you will see it is untouched,
Unmoved,
Unblemished by whatever is appearing now.
Rest in that awareness,
As that awareness.
And now,
Just asking the question inside,
Asking the question inside,
Who am I?
Who am I?
Maybe something will come,
That's great.
If not,
That's also great.
Who am I?
And now,
Taking the question further,
Who am I?
Without memory.
Who am I?
Without memory.
Maybe something will emerge.
If it does or it doesn't,
All is well.
Who am I?
Without memory.
And now,
Who am I?
Without belief.
Who am I?
Who am I?
Without belief.
And now,
What if I totally committed to the heart?
What if I totally committed to the heart?
Good.
And this awareness,
That simply watches,
Witnesses,
Phenomena,
Appear in front of it,
Yet it remains untouched,
Unmoved,
Unblemished,
And just being open from your heart,
To the energy of the spheres.
Nothing to visualize or analyze.
Just be open to the energy of the spheres,
Or spheres of light.
This energy is like the pure,
Universal,
Infinite I am.
I am pure,
Universal,
Beingness.
And this too can be witnessed,
Stanced,
From the deeper essence,
The silent witness.
Just rest as this silent witness,
That sees the I am,
That sees all the phenomena.
And this silent witness itself is melting,
Merging,
Becoming one with the infinite ocean of awareness,
For infinite silence,
Silently,
Effortlessly dissolving,
Becoming the infinite ocean,
The infinite silence,
The infinite awareness.
Be still and know.
In silence,
We trust.
And the trust becomes the knowing.
In silence,
You will realize truth.
In truth,
You will realize you are silence,
Infinite silence,
This rarefied atmosphere of silence,
Transforms,
Transmutes,
Dissolves,
All that you are not.
And our late silence remains infinite silence,
Infinite awareness,
Eternal life.
You are this now.
Inside,
This is already known.
Eternity,
Love,
Unblemished,
Untouched,
Unmoved essence.
And you are it.
Be still and know.
The silence is the prayer of truth,
Universal,
Non-personal,
Timeless,
In,
Through,
And as this arise.
Beyond time,
Beyond space,
Before form,
Before even I am,
Is infinite silence,
Is-ness,
The self.
Knowing this presence,
This silence,
Remains always here.
And you,
Non-personally,
Are it.
In a moment,
I'll ring the ting-shell bells,
Three times,
And just continue to rest in and as this.
As the sound of the ting-shell bells gently fades,
Continuing to rest in,
Through,
And as this arise.
Aware of your body.
The chair,
Your something,
Or whatever you may be,
Lay on.
Aware of the space,
Continuing to rest as this arises.
And if you haven't already done so,
Just gently opening your eyes.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Namaste.
Good.
So I see that seeds has put without memory,
Question mark,
Question mark,
Questions to freedom,
And it was without memory that I said seeds.
And the reason I use that,
Who am I without memory,
Is that we tend to live our lives from memory and imagination.
And memory is built up a lot,
Mostly of the traumatic,
Emotional,
Energetic body memory,
That actually,
Therefore influences,
Whether in a conscious or unconscious way,
Our life choices.
And it comes from belief.
See the live stream replay Beyond Belief.
And when we take that away without memory,
We're taking away mind,
We're taking away belief,
And opening to that infinite awareness,
Which you,
The word you got was freedom.
And the realization of the self is that you are in fact freedom itself.
But ultimately there is nothing to be free from.
You are the infinite freedom,
The totality freedom,
The infinite awareness,
The infinite consciousness.
And it's made up and expressed in infinite variety,
Including your form.
So that's why that is in that part of the meditation.
It's a very,
Very powerful awareness tool,
The who am I meditation.
I integrated that with the infinite silence meditation.
Really,
They're both different versions of the same thing.
So that's why without memory is important.
And I've used many versions of the live streams of the last two or three months now,
Of that who am I,
To profound benefit to people.
And so it snaps one back into awareness very,
Very quickly.
The kind of meditation,
Who am I without memory?
You can do anytime,
Anyplace,
Anywhere.
And if you do that,
It might take a few times at first,
But it will help snap you back into awareness rather than associating with the noise going on in the mind.
So that's just a bit of insight on that for those of you who haven't experienced that before.
I see that Grace Light has picked out silence is the prayer of truth.
They included that in the meditation this time.
So if you're in your heart,
You already know this to be true.
And it's like I was saying earlier,
It's about switching from transmit to receive.
From transmit to receive.
That one switch is fundamental.
I'm glad that you picked that out Grace Light.
Joleen is saying it's beautiful.
So glad that it was for you Joleen.
And Blossom is saying feeling the calm,
Peacefulness and infinite silence.
That's great.
That's great Blossom.
And the more that you connect with this awareness,
The deeper the connection becomes,
And you will realize that you are this awareness.
I'm noticing Miri or Myri,
That's a quote from Ram Dass.
I have heard of Ram Dass,
I have nothing to do with this,
But indeed you are.
Infinite awareness.
We are that.
And that's what's realized.
That's what's realized.
I'm glad that you found it beautiful Ram.
Thank you for sharing that.
So let's just have a look at what Alan is saying.
I love the part where you mention the rarefied atmosphere of silence.
A great description.
You know that phrase,
Alan,
Also came in meditation.
And in fact I've written down insights on that.
So that came from the silence itself.
It's a very important pointing and message,
That one.
Every part I'm using in this meditation came from that same space.
So that is profoundly important,
That insight,
The rarefied atmosphere.
Notice the word sphere is in there.
Atmos,
Breath.
Atmosphere of silence,
The breath of silence.
Also,
More involved with the silence,
The more this atmosphere flavors everyday life.
Indeed,
Giving you an eerie vibe,
Like when you go to your school at night as a kid.
Or when you're getting out of the cinema at night,
Where there's no one else,
So mysterious.
It is indeed mysterious,
But we are in fact also the mystery.
That's the beauty of it.
It's beyond the mind's capacity to comprehend.
But the living awareness knows,
And you are that.
So good sharing there,
Alan.
Thank you for sharing that.
Shanti is saying,
Beautiful,
Thank you so much for it.
Well,
Thank you,
Shanti.
Yes,
Indeed,
Michelle,
The sphere in atmosphere.
The rarefied atmosphere of silence,
The breath of silence.
That is the power of the universe.
It's kind of akin to,
Not that I'm schooled in Eastern traditions,
But it's kind of akin to what I understand they refer to as the breath of Brahma.
Similar to that.
Is that a question,
I haven't guessed?
Do you know if it's possible to reproduce this infinite silence experience by taking any external drugs?
That's an interesting question,
Guest.
You know,
I guess you might be referring to things like magic mushrooms and so forth.
I know that they can trigger quite profound experiences.
I've never done that myself,
So I'm not speaking from direct experience there.
You may be able to get an approximation,
But the true and lasting experience of it is not going to be triggered by something like magic mushrooms.
The experience with such a thing will only be temporary.
Whereas this,
As it emerges and arises naturally,
Is permanent.
So,
Really,
Those may be a trigger to deeper perceptions and can trigger things in the brain.
But those are phenomena.
Those are phenomena and phenomena.
Whereas this infinite silence is before and beyond phenomena.
So,
A thing can't take you to no thing.
It can only act as a bridge.
And the most effective way to get there is to recognize that you are already this awareness.
You are already this awareness.
Alan is saying,
Anonymous infinite silence is not really an experience.
This is true in the normal sense of experience.
Because experience,
As we typically express it,
Is time-based,
Phenomena-based.
But it might be more accurate to say it's an experience-less experience.
Which means it's a knowing.
Which means it's a knowing.
And Alan is saying that it's the space where experience happens.
This is pretty good.
It's the space from which experience arises.
But in itself,
It is before and beyond experience.
On one of the streams people asked me about how that arises and how it was.
And I would say to you,
There was no time,
There was no space,
There was no phenomena.
There was just the knowing.
Just the realization as this infinite silence,
This infinite awareness.
So hopefully that answers your question.
Yes,
That's the essence of our true beingness.
Yes.
And it's even before being.
Even before being.
Before the state I am.
There was a comment there that wanted to pick up on Alan saying it is somehow death.
And this is in fact correct,
Alan.
As I'm sure you're aware.
And in fact,
I've commented on this before briefly in one of the streams.
I can't remember which one it was now.
But one of the insights that came in the process of the realization was these three words.
Life is death.
Life is death.
And not the death of the body that's being referred to there.
It's the death of the identity.
And in fact,
I'm going to do a stream.
It came to me a few days ago that I will do a live stream after this meditation program with that title.
Life is death.
Which might sound a bit strange,
But I'll go into that in further depth.
And I've just done briefly there what that points to.
And it's profoundly important.
Those three words.
Life is death.
So what else is here?
There's quite a few thank yous.
Joyce is saying thank you so much.
It's again so beautiful.
I feel so peaceful with gratitude.
And here's a very good example from Joyce,
For you Joyce.
The peace that you're feeling is an expression of this awareness,
Of this silence.
And it's an invitation for you to commit to that.
You have listened.
You have said yes.
And now,
Over the next 28 days,
Because I know you're committing to the 28 day meditation program,
Is to commit to that becoming your constant experience.
That's what that experience is saying to you.
And you don't need to believe me on that.
Your heart already knows that this is so.
So that's it from me,
Philip Wade here from North Yorkshire in England.
I'm broadcasting here from this beautiful purpose-built space,
Which I call the Universal Studio.
It's at our home in England.
It's a delight to share this message with you.
Thank you so much for joining wherever you are.
From Blossom all the way down in Australia,
For all points east and west and north of here.
Thanks so much.
