So good morning,

Good afternoon or good evening wherever you are in the world.

Philip Wade here from North Yorkshire in England,

Broadcasting from this space that I lightheartedly call the Universal Studio.

Some of you have maybe even been here.

So today I think this is possibly the 40th live stream I've done on Insight Time,

I'm not quite sure now.

I've done many many many live streams elsewhere of course,

But it's the first time I've done one in the morning and I'm also repeating this this evening as well,

So we'll see how that works out and you're welcome to join both.

The theme for today's stream is a return to love,

A return to love,

And ultimately self-realisation,

Which is all that I share,

Is all about that return to love.

And it's inspired in part,

In part,

By a quote that I came across many years ago from a book of the same title by Marianne Williamson.

You may have read it,

Her book is based on A Course in Miracles.

And if we've got time later on I'll refer to a very famous quote that often gets attributed to Nelson Mandela,

But it's actually originally,

It's originally from the book A Return to Love and from Marianne Williamson.

Everybody else,

The sound is fine Veronica,

So I suspect the problem is at your end,

So you might need to go back out and come back in or adjust your volume settings.

I did check that earlier,

So if you can have a look at that.

So what I'd like to do,

As I've done on many streams,

Is take you on a journey rather than do lots of talking.

And we'll do that using what I refer to as the infinite silence meditation.

Many of you here have experienced that before,

Others may be new to it.

If you're new to it,

Don't try and analyse it,

Don't try and visualise anything,

Just go with the guidance.

Let the silence and the pointings guide you and trust,

Just trust.

And I'll just give you a very brief overview of the meditation for those that are new.

Some of you have seen this metaphor I use endlessly,

Many times,

But it's well worth repeating.

And it's a fibre optic lamp and it basically captures the journey of meditation and self-realisation in a very simple way.

And just very,

Very briefly,

If you imagine that you,

Your body-mind experience,

Is one of these points of light,

Then everybody else is another point of light.

And then basically how we live our lives is from a world of separation.

This point of light is separate from this point of light and this one and so forth.

And we spend our lives looking outward into the world,

Into a world of separation.

And the world can be quite a scary place when you look at it that way.

However,

The meditative journey,

The journey of self-realisation,

Is about the journey within.

And although I'm going to use a direction in the metaphor,

From self-realisation perspective,

It's not a direction.

But the whole journey of meditation and self-realisation is akin to,

Or a bit like,

Looking down the fibre optic lamp.

And when you do that,

When you open to the essence of meditation,

The first thing you come to on this metaphor here is the light at the base.

And I will refer to that in the meditation as spheres,

As in balls,

Spheres of light.

And I refer to it that way,

Or just spheres,

Because that's how it came to me back in 2011.

And in the meditation I'll simply invite you to open to your heart-based intention,

Your heart-based intention to connect with the spheres,

Or spheres of light.

I won't be doing anything else at that point,

We'll go silent.

So I don't want you to try and visualise spheres,

I don't want you to do anything,

Just be open.

And then we'll continue with the guidance.

The remainder of the meditation,

Or the infinite silence meditation,

There'll be bits of guidance in between all of this,

Is really about recognising where does the light actually come from.

This light represents the pure universal essence I am,

Or Hiranyagarbha.

In the East,

The golden egg of creation,

The pure universal essence I am,

And that's an infinite I am,

Not a personal I am.

And in the metaphor at least,

The power is coming from the battery at the base here.

And it is that power which gives birth to the light.

In self-realisation terms,

That's infinite silence,

And it's not confined to the base,

It's actually everywhere.

And it is from that infinite silence,

Or infinite awareness,

Or infinite consciousness,

That the space of being,

Then form,

Time,

Space,

And contrast are birthed.

And it is this place,

That's the infinite awareness,

Or the infinite silence,

Or the infinite consciousness,

That every phenomena,

Every phenomena appears within.

And when this is realised from within,

It will become what I call true self-evident,

I.

E.

The essence of whom you really are,

Which is more than this body-mind experience.

So that,

In essence,

Is the infinite silence meditation,

And within the guidance that I'll give you,

I'll also be inviting you to go with some enquiries.

And these enquiries are not things that I'm asking you to think about.

The invitation here is simply,

Is simply to let that enquiry emerge into the space,

Be with it,

And if any insight,

A word,

A feeling,

A knowing,

A clarity,

A vision,

Or whatever comes,

Just let that be there.

And if nothing comes,

That's also fine.

Just be with it.

And there'll be a few of these enquiries as we go through,

That are all,

If you like,

From the heart space,

Inviting you to open to that which is a deeper essence.

So that's how we'll approach that.

Some of you have experienced that many times before,

Others might be new to it,

But it's always worth just going over that,

Because that metaphor is an excellent metaphor for self-realization and the whole meditative journey.

So if we're all good,

That's how we're going to go about it.

After we've done the meditation,

We'll see what comes up for people.

I'll open the space for people to share any questions in the comments,

And we'll look at those.

And then,

Depending on how all that goes,

And any other insights,

I'll have a look at that Marianne Williamson quote,

And offer you some deeper insight into that.

And I can see a few other people have said hello,

So I can see Thomas from Nottingham,

So welcome to you Thomas.

And I think I've already said hello to Elena.

So if everybody's good,

Let's begin.

And just simply,

Silently now,

Closing your eyes,

And just simply,

And silently,

Become aware of what's here now.

Now,

Any phenomena,

Just simply,

Silently,

And non-judgmentally,

Observing or witnessing those phenomena,

Be it your breath,

Feelings,

Emotions,

Physical sensations,

Just totally,

Utterly,

Accepting them all.

No judgment,

Completely okay with them.

Just like you're watching a movie from the inside,

And everything is appearing on the green screen of consciousness.

Simply,

Silently,

And non-judgmentally,

Witnessing.

And as you witness,

Effortlessly,

Silently,

Just be open with your heart-based intention to connect with the energy of the spheres,

Or spheres of light.

And we'll remain silent now,

For a couple of minutes.

And as you rest,

Silently witnessing this energy of the spheres,

Or spheres of light.

It's a phenomenon,

It's the pure,

Universal,

I am.

This is an infinite,

Pure,

And this too,

As pure as this universal beingness is,

Can be sensed,

Seen,

Witnessed,

And it's sensed from what I refer to as the silent witness,

In infinite silence.

Silently,

Non-judgmentally,

Witnessing.

And this silent witness is like a sliver of ice in an ocean of water,

And it's melting,

Dissolving,

Becoming one with the water.

And the water is actually an ocean of infinite silence.

Infinite awareness.

Merging completely now.

Simply,

Silently,

Aware.

In silence,

You will realise.

Truth.

In truth,

You will realise.

You are silence.

Infinite silence.

Infinite awareness.

Be still.

And know this.

Awareness.

Silence.

This rarefied atmosphere of silence transforms,

Transmutes,

Dissolves,

All that you are not.

Merging,

Melting into oneness.

Silence.

Awareness.

Eternity.

Resting in this,

Through this.

As this.

Silence.

Awareness.

Nothing you have to do to be this.

Eternally.

Silently.

And now,

We'll have a series of enquiries.

Just be with these.

No analysis.

Just allow.

Firstly,

Asking inside.

Who am I just being with that?

And if something comes,

Good.

Just let that be there.

If nothing comes,

That's equally fine.

Just witness.

And now,

We'll ask inside.

Who am I with nothing to prove?

Who am I with nothing to prove?

Just being.

Just witnessing.

Another enquiry.

Again,

Just go with this.

Who am I before and beyond relationships?

Who am I and beyond relationships?

Just resting with these enquiries.

Letting them be.

Any phenomena arising.

Just watch.

Just witness.

Nothing you have to do.

And finally,

Another enquiry.

Who am I before this body-mind?

Just being with that.

Allowing whatever's here to be here.

Who am I before this body-mind?

Simply.

Silently.

Non-judgmentally aware.

Infinite.

Silence.

Be still.

And know.

Your essence is this.

Silent awareness.

One may rest in this.

Through this.

As this.

Always.

Since you are already it.

And continuing to rest in this,

In a few moments now,

I will ring the Ting Sha bells.

Just remain with your eyes closed.

And as you rest,

With the seated lying down,

Simply aware of your body.

Aware of the space.

Aware of the chair you're sat in.

Or whatever you may be lay on.

Effortlessly.

Silently.

Aware.

And even as we bring the formal meditation to a close,

Remain as this awareness.

Always.

It is your birthright.

Your essence is right for you.

Simply.

Silently.

Opening your eyes.

Always remaining as awareness.

Or infinite silence.

Good.

Namaste.

So I can see a few people joined us during the meditation,

So welcome to you.

Anthony and many others by the looks of it,

On the screen.

I'll just give you a moment or two to come to from that.

And I'll play a little bit of harp.

And then we'll open to any questions.

So if you want to,

Anything you want to share,

Or questions emerging,

Insights arising from the questions,

You can pop those into the chat and I'll endeavour to respond to as many of those as I can.

And this track I'm going to play whilst people are coming to is Heart's Song.

It's very beautiful.

It's by my friend Tara Cook.

Thank you Elena for that comment.

And Blossom.

So Heart's Song,

Enjoy.

So that was Heart's Song by my friend Tara Cook.

Many of her harp tracks came after attending one of my retreats actually.

It just comes from the silence.

So I love that response by the way that you got there Alex.

So I'm going to go back to the questions now.

And for some reason the cursor is now not moving up.

Oh.

Okay.

I think I remember Claire's question.

So basically,

I can't sort of fully see it now because the cursor won't move and the screen's playing up.

But in essence what you're referring to there Claire is about the noise that people experience when meditating.

And this is a very common experience.

Whether you're new to meditation,

Sometimes even if you're an experienced meditator it can feel very noisy.

Now I'm hoping this is going to stay on here folks.

The screen keeps on playing up.

And let me know if you can hear me okay.

The reason that happens,

Whether you're new to meditation or maybe a more experienced meditator,

Is let's start with say somebody relatively new to meditation or perhaps finds it difficult to go deep with meditation.

When you finally sit down,

Stop and wait and be still.

Perhaps for the first time in some people's cases,

If it's the first time they've meditated,

Or,

Sorry this screens,

Perhaps for the first time they've noticed how noisy it is up here.

How much activity is going on.

Now this people see as a challenge.

But actually what I'm going to share with you might be a surprise.

This recognition of that noise,

That activity,

The mental processes going on,

All this thought and so forth,

Is actually a very good recognition to have.

Because whether it's the first time you've sat down or the 10th time or the 20th time,

The key thing that people miss and misunderstand about meditation is that actually there is a presence,

Listen carefully to this,

Everybody,

An awareness,

A stillness that is the observer,

The witness to that noise,

The mental activity.

And that witness is the same witnessing presence whether it be thoughts,

Feelings,

Emotions,

Sensations,

Breath.

Now what is not commonly understood with meditation is that not only is that awareness there and the observer of that phenomenon,

Of all that activity,

It's actually unaffected by it.

Let me say that again,

That awareness,

That presence is actually unaffected by the noise,

By the thoughts,

By the feelings,

By the sensations,

By the emotions.

All it does is watches.

Now whether you can recognize this yet or not,

Claire,

That's not so important as being open to that possibility.

Because what I'm pointing out here is not only the essence of meditation,

It's also the essence of self-realization.

It's also the essence of the experiential living of inner peace.

Meditation,

The essence of meditation is awareness.

Awareness is meditation.

So the mere fact that that reckon,

Oh,

Lots of noise.

Who or what noticed that is the first question.

Who or what noticed that?

Now mine will go me,

But you can't be the phenomena and the witness to it.

The phenomena is an appearance in front of or within awareness,

Just like a movie on a TV screen or a green screen in the movies.

So there is the phenomena,

The thoughts,

And there is the witness.

Now if my microphone's strong enough,

And I'm sure it is,

You've probably heard two planes flying past there.

Now this is important.

The noise of the planes came,

They went that way,

And awareness noticed them.

And was unaffected by them.

Just the noise arose,

They flew past,

And it went quieter again.

The same is true with the thoughts,

The feelings,

The sensations.

All of them are like waves.

They come,

They reach a peak,

And if you just watch,

If you just watch,

There's only one thing gonna happen,

Claire.

You don't engage,

There's only one thing that's gonna happen.

It will return or fade to silence.

Just like this.

If I do the same thing here now,

Close your eyes everybody,

And just notice what happens here.

Just close your eyes for a moment.

So keep your eyes closed whilst I offer some insight.

I tinged the bells together,

The Tingsha bells.

The noise reached a peak like a wave,

And because I didn't keep doing this with them,

It faded to silence.

The same is true of all phenomena.

Without engagement,

Without further input,

All phenomena,

Which are vibrations,

Everything's a vibration including your body,

Will return to silence.

Without any effort on your part,

No effort at all.

Just like the plane going past,

Or the bells ringing now.

If you just watch and trust that you're the witness,

The awareness,

You won't have to try to still your mind,

The mind will naturally quiet.

It will become still effortlessly.

That,

My friends,

Is the subject of the next stream,

The Essence of Meditation.

And I've just shared with you The Essence of Meditation,

I've also shared with you The Essence of Self-Realization.

Can it be this simple?

The answer is yes,

It is this simple.

The whole journey of self-realization is about recognizing this awareness that's here,

Always here.

And then secondly,

The question then comes,

Is that which witnesses,

Or is aware,

Affected in any way by the phenomena?

And even if we can't see that now,

We're eventually going to recognize that one,

This awareness is always here.

Two,

It's always unaffected.

And three,

Most crucially,

We are it.

And four,

It's not personal,

It's universal.

Infinite awareness,

Or infinite silence.

So this,

Clare,

Is the true answer,

The true insight to your question.

Indeed,

It's the true answer,

The true insight to all questions.

We are awareness,

And this body-mind experience that you have,

It's like a car.

You might have a car,

Clare,

But you're not your car.

In the same way,

This body-mind is not that which you are.

It is something that you have,

Like you might have a car,

But it is not that which you are.

And the key thing here,

Folks,

Is you don't need to believe a single word I say about this.

Because when this is realized,

As this is realized,

As your essence,

It will become what I call true self-evident.

It will be the greatest clarity,

The greatest seeing that is had.

That you are this,

And that this body-mind experience is an appearance within that infinite awareness.

That the universe itself has chosen to express and experience itself in your form.

In Clare's form,

In Stefan's form,

In Blossom's form,

In Thomas' form.

In infinite variety,

Just like on this fiber-optic lamp here.

Not only as human beings,

But as stars,

Planets,

Electrons,

Neutrons,

Protons,

You name it.

Excuse me,

My thing just keeps on falling down here.

So,

The key is to be aware that you're aware.

And that this awareness never goes anywhere.

And even if you think that that awareness has gone somewhere else,

Or it's now not here.

The question is,

Who or what is aware of that idea,

That belief,

That it has gone somewhere?

And the only answer to that is awareness.

So even if you think or believe it's not here,

You're the one that's aware of that belief.

So we always,

Always come back to awareness.

Come back to awareness,

Come back to awareness,

Come back to awareness,

Come back to awareness.

And we can ask ourselves those two questions at any time,

Any place,

Anywhere.

Who or what is aware of all the phenomena here now?

And is that which is aware affected by the phenomena?

The answer to the first is awareness,

Or infinite silence.

The answer to the second is,

No it's not.

It's always at peace.

Always at one.

As this.

This is the essence of meditation.

This is the essence of self-realisation.

This is the source of inner peace.

This is the source of love,

Grace,

Gratitude.

The recognition and the experiential realisation of this awareness is the key.

It is that simple.

It is that simple.

That simple.

Nothing more to it than that.

I would not say this were it not true.

And it doesn't require you to believe a single word,

Because as I say,

As it's realised,

It will become self-evident.

And this self is awareness.

Infinite awareness,

Infinite silence.

So it's more than just encouraging the answer,

Claire.

It's a direct pointing to your truth.

So good awareness.

Oh,

Noisy.

Who is that,

Who or what is aware of the noise?

Awareness is.

Is it affected by the noise?

No.

Trust the awareness,

The noise will fall away.

Like that.

Same with emotions.

Same with any phenomena,

Ultimately.

So I've spent quite a bit of time on that,

Because it's a really profoundly important question that people all over the world struggle with.

And the realisation is profoundly simple.

Profoundly simple.

Okay,

So I want to pick up on some other questions now.

And I will pick up on Alex's and Stefan's comments,

Which I saw scroll past.

But I just want to pick up on what Thomas is sharing there,

Because it's directly relevant.

So Thomas is saying,

How does this affect us on a human level?

And awareness isn't affected,

But we are.

Okay,

So there's a few pointers here,

Thomas,

That we need to recognise.

Firstly,

I've already addressed the first comment,

How does this affect us on a human level?

You may not have realised that.

But the body-mind that you have,

Which we call Thomas,

Which is in Nottingham,

Is like a car.

You may have a car,

Thomas,

But you're not your car.

And this body-mind,

And you don't need to believe me on this,

Is not whom you really are.

It's an expression.

It's an appearance,

A point of light,

A sphere of light,

That appears in front of or within awareness.

And you are the awareness,

Your essence is that.

Always.

No need to believe me,

It will be seen.

The human appearance,

The form of Thomas,

Is a gift from the essence,

The infinite silence,

The infinite awareness,

To come to know itself in its own experience.

For without the form of Thomas,

Without the form of Blossom,

Without the form of Lee or Claire,

There would be no experience.

And so it gifts itself,

Infinite expression,

One of which is Thomas.

And every experience that we're having,

Whether it be in the form of Thomas or Blossom or whatever,

Is an invitation to recognize,

Realize,

That which is the witness to the experience.

And we're going to see,

As I've said already,

That that witness is infinite awareness that's not personal,

Or is infinite consciousness,

Or is infinite silence,

And that you are that.

And that is the pathway to peace,

Recognizing that actually you are its very source.

So when you say awareness isn't affected what we are,

There's a misunderstanding there,

Thomas.

It's okay,

There's nothing wrong about it,

Nothing right about it.

The human will believe constantly that it is affected in some way.

And sure,

We have physical,

Practical things to do when we have a body.

I'm not saying ignore that.

But that which you truly are isn't the form,

Isn't the body.

That which you truly are is the awareness.

If you believe yourself to be,

That all you are is the body-mind experience,

Then that's okay,

Nothing wrong,

Nothing right,

But what will happen is that you will suffer.

The Buddha said,

In life there is suffering.

And the reason the suffering occurs is because we believe in,

Attach ourselves to,

Identify with,

What I call a case of mistaken identity.

And that case of mistaken identity is the belief that all I am is the body-mind.

It's a belief in separation from all the other body-mind experiences.

It's a belief in separation from pure,

Universal I am-ness,

Or the spheres,

As I called it earlier.

It's a belief in separation from the power that drives it all,

The infinite silence,

Which is actually everywhere,

Not just the battery at the bottom.

That belief in separation is the source of all suffering.

All suffering.

Not because Philip says so,

But because that is what has been realised by realised beings over the millennia.

So if you believe you are the body-mind,

And that that's all you are,

Then you will suffer.

If you open to awareness,

And the reason people are here is to open to that,

To realise that,

Then this is the opening to that awareness,

That peace,

That stillness,

That silence.

So yes,

Phenomena will appear,

Emotions will arise,

Things will happen,

But the awareness,

The silence,

I'm going to pull this down because it's obviously not staying up there,

Is always,

Always,

Always unaffected.

If you trust awareness,

Peace will emerge,

Because we'll come to what I refer to as the highest form of trust,

Which is the knowing,

The realising that you are this awareness.

And it's also not having to trust at all,

Because it's become unknowing.

So there are bodily needs and trust needs.

Of course there are bodily needs.

You know,

We have to be practical,

You may need to have a job,

Go out to work,

Earn some money to pay the bills and all the rest of it.

This is all okay,

There's nothing wrong with that.

Nothing wrong with that.

But it doesn't mean awareness has gone somewhere.

Awareness is always here.

Whether you're at work,

At home,

On holiday,

Wherever you are,

As the body-mind experience,

Awareness is there.

Trust the awareness.

Open to the awareness.

So hopefully that covers it for you.

Thomas,

I've got a whole livestream self-realisation programme on my profile on Insight Timer.

There's also the group Nothing Special with Philip Wade.

Nothing Special with Philip Wade.

And both in the chat and in the feed,

You will see,

I think there's about five or six playlists,

One of which is the self-realisation replay programme.

And that will take you through,

In a structured order sequence,

A journey to open to that.

If you feel cold,

Then listen to that.

And there's been about 40 livestreams now,

But the first 13 were designed as a specific,

Complete programme.

Use those.

Use those.

I want to pick up on Stefan's comments and Alex's comments now.

And if I can remember them,

Because my screen wasn't allowing me to scroll back up.

Stefan said on one of the questions,

Or at least a couple of the questions,

I think it was,

That some fear came up.

And some of you,

More of you may have had that experience.

Some fear came up.

And he went on to add that as he witnessed that fear,

And it was felt,

It dissolved.

It dissolved.

And he said on the last question,

It was much stiller and more silent.

I can't remember the exact words,

And I don't want to try and scroll back up,

Because the screen will play up.

Now,

That's very important,

What happened to Stefan there.

That might have happened for you as well.

Because the reason those enquiries were there,

We had,

Who am I?

Who am I with nothing to prove?

Who am I before relationships?

And who am I before this body-mind?

These are all from awareness.

These are all from awareness,

To invite you to go beyond the belief that all I am is the body-mind.

Now,

As that enquiry is opened up,

The body-mind identity will fear,

And hence the arising of fear in Stefan,

This shift from being focused on everything that's going on up here in your head,

Into the heart space of silence.

And that will bring up fear in the emotional body.

But fear is also a vibration,

Fear is also a vibration that can be felt,

Witnessed from awareness without any judgment.

And as it's witnessed from awareness,

Just like the Tingsha bells here,

As it's watched,

Witnessed and felt,

It will fade to silence.

It will dissolve of its own accord,

Not because of anything that you've done,

But because there's been no further belief energy,

No further input into the fear.

No analysis,

It's just happened.

So Stefan's experience is very important there.

Others may have had that.

That,

My friends,

Is the key to dissolution of the emotional body,

Sometimes known as the pain body.

It is ultimately through the power of awareness.

You may use,

Along your journey,

Other tools and techniques,

And they're okay.

But ultimately,

They are a stepping stone to recognition of the infinite power of awareness within.

This is because this is how it works.

This is how the universe works,

And it will become evident upon realization.

This is what realized beings have realized.

This is what the Buddha realized.

This is what Jesus realized.

This is what many realized beings have realized,

And there are many,

Fortunately now,

And an increasing number.

Awareness is the key.

Awareness is what you're looking for,

And it turns out awareness is that which you are.

Blossom has kindly put the list of playlists up there.

There are six of them.

Some of them are combinations of the longer,

Bigger playlist,

Which is the Self-Realization Replay Program.

For instance,

There's a playlist there that deals specifically with emotions,

Blocks,

And beliefs.

There are about five or six streams in there,

Looking at it from different angles.

But all of those are included within the Self-Realization Program Replay List.

So they've just been organized in different ways so that you can focus in specific ways.

And included within the playlists is a series of seven infinite silence meditations of durations 15 minutes fully guided to an hour and a half with huge silent gaps.

And the reason it's done that way is to get you more and more comfortable with one,

Recognizing awareness,

And two,

Resting in that awareness and becoming comfortable with that in your own experience.

Trust all that makes sense.

All of those can be found on my profile and in the group Nothing Special with Philip Wade.

So hopefully this is all helpful for you guys.

Now,

I saw a comment from Alex,

Which was interesting,

Because on the first inquiry,

The response that I saw,

Which was a big surprise to him,

And I liked it a lot,

Was he got fortune.

Fortune.

The word fortune came up.

And he wrote down that it was very unexpected.

Now,

The reason I like it is because what that is,

Is a direct pointing to the fortune that we are.

That fortune is infinite.

Listen carefully,

That fortune is infinite,

Which means it's completely and utterly unlimited.

Your essence is that infinite silence,

Infinite awareness,

Infinite consciousness.

How big a fortune can you get than infinite?

And that fortune expresses itself in infinite variety,

Just like in the fiber optic length metaphor here.

And the universe would not be complete,

Would not be complete,

Without its expression in your form.

It chooses to become Stefan,

Elena,

Claire,

Thomas,

Blossom,

Nicole,

Lee,

I've seen many other names.

What fortune that is.

What a gift it is to be expressed by the universe to come to know itself in its own experience,

In the form of Alex,

Elena,

Stefan,

Thomas.

So I like that a lot,

And that's why.

Thank you for sharing that Alex.

So Thomas wants to say,

Can I say more about suffering?

And interestingly,

Before I've even had a chance to respond,

Elena's said,

It's it's optional.

And then Thomas has added,

Suffering versus fortune.

Now,

Just to reinforce what I've already said,

The source of all suffering is the belief in a case of mistaken identity.

Using our little metaphor here,

It's the belief that all you are is this point of light,

The body-mind experience.

The body-mind experience.

And that,

Basically,

That's Thomas and everybody,

Is a belief in separation.

And that belief in separation creates a polarity of love and fear.

Creates a polarity of love and fear.

And the idea that there's something like a separation inside from your true essence.

And that gets built up.

We add to that core mistaken belief with subsets of that belief.

So I am this body.

I am this nationality.

I am this job.

I am this whatever you want to name.

And the more and more that gets added,

The more and more suffering that there is.

All stemming from that belief in separation.

The more you open to the possibility that,

Actually,

You're not separate from the essence,

The infinite silence,

The power,

The source,

And you're open to that,

And you're truly willing to open to that,

The more that suffering will fall away.

Fall away.

And that can be,

For most people,

A gradual process.

The fortune is to realize you are the infinite silence,

The infinite awareness,

The infinite essence.

Always,

Eternally,

This.

And Thomas is referring to Palestine there,

And that's obviously a horrific situation for many people right now.

And on my profile on Insight Timer,

This question came up in a different way when Ukraine was invaded.

And somebody asked a question,

And I extracted a piece from that particular live stream.

And that particular one,

I can't remember which live stream number it is,

But the extract I did was called War and Peace.

And in fact,

It's written about it there.

So that is a short extract.

And on the extract track where I'm responding to that question,

I give an answer to that.

And it will also tell you which is the fuller live stream.

So,

Situations like Palestine,

Like Ukraine,

Or many other places in the world,

Whether in Africa and other places where there's conflict,

All of them,

All of them,

Ultimately arise from this belief in separation,

In otherness.

And that we then objectify,

It's okay for us to objectify these other beings,

Which are also this,

Whomever they are,

Which are also this,

Whomever they are.

And so we result in conflict and all the conflicts in world history,

All the conflicts in world history,

Stem from this one mistaken belief.

And that is the root of suffering.

Your invitation is to open to that peace within.

And trust that essence,

That power within.

Because if one being realizes that peace,

That reverberates around the whole universe,

Not because Philips says so,

Because that's how it is.

So,

A key contribution,

The biggest contribution,

The biggest gift from the universe to the universe is to realize itself and that's ultimately why you are here.

That's ultimately why you are here.

If you want to make a contribution,

Realize the peace within.

This is the most significantly ultimate contribution we can make.

This doesn't mean that we don't do practical things in life,

Of course we do,

But the biggest gift is the biggest gift is within us.

We're all here for this.

Yeah,

So Nicole has summarized that short extract from that longer live stream there,

So do have a look out for that one if you want to explore that one more fully.

So how are we doing for time?

It's coming up to 10 o'clock here in the UK.

I've got about 20 minutes,

I've programmed two hours,

So I just want to come back to our main topic here,

Our return to love,

Because the realization of this awareness,

The recognition of this awareness this unchanging awareness,

Untouched awareness is the source not only of peace,

It's also the source of love.

This awareness,

This infinite silence,

This untouched essence,

This bit on the fiber optic lamp that I referred to as spheres of light,

Or spheres,

This is like the perfume of silence,

And the perfumes of silence include love,

Peace,

Grace,

Gratitude,

These kinds of words,

And if one of these is present,

They're all there.

So the true way to return to love isn't through another,

But is to realize the completion within you,

As you,

And then we have the wondrous gift,

The wondrous gift of sharing that completion with everybody else,

Because we start,

We automatically,

As we embrace that,

It radiates from our beingness and people will either have two core reactions to that,

One,

They'll run away from it,

This happens,

It's not wrong or right,

It's because the fear has been invoked,

It's like shining a light on the ego,

On the darkness,

And it can make it very scared,

Or if there's an openness,

People will embrace it.

I just noticed a couple of donations come through there,

So thank you very much for those to Claire and Blossom,

All the donations go to sharing this self-realization message with the world,

So thank you for those.

I want to come on to the Marianne Williamson quote,

Which is from the book A Return to Love,

And as I've said before,

Or earlier,

This quote is often attributed to Nelson Mandela,

It is not from Nelson Mandela,

He himself has said that,

It's from the book A Return to Love,

And that book in itself is based on something called A Course in Miracles,

Which is a very dense book,

My wife read it many years ago,

But the quote,

It's quite long,

And you can look it up,

But the bit I want to draw out,

Which emphasizes what I've been sharing here today,

And she actually begins this,

You don't often see this sentence,

But in the book,

There's some opening words that say something like this,

As I understand the course,

And she means the Course in Miracles,

So she's conveying her understanding,

It goes on to say,

And I'm sure many of you have heard this,

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure,

It is our light,

Not our darkness,

That most frightens us,

We ask ourselves,

Who am I to be brilliant,

Gorgeous,

Talented,

Fabulous,

And then it goes on,

Now the book is called A Return to Love,

It's Blossom,

It's called A Return to Love,

It's a summary of A Course in Miracles,

Now the reason that quote is so good,

And so powerful,

And it goes on much longer than that,

Is because it's actually a good pointing for self-realization,

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate,

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure,

That speaks to what I just said a few moments ago,

You see,

Because we believe in this separate identity,

We create a polarity of love and fear,

And that creates an experience of smallness,

Contractedness,

A sense of unworthiness,

That is actually untrue,

Now that identity self,

Or ego self,

Is an illusion,

And it basically,

Whether it be from mild almost imperceptible,

Or to very very strong in your face,

Basically lives in fear,

And when the light of awareness,

The light of silence arises,

The identity self,

Basically,

Is always trying to hang on for dear life,

To its identity,

And it will do all it can to protect itself,

And its most common weapon,

Indeed ultimately its only weapon,

In this process,

Is belief,

And I have a live stream called Beyond Belief,

To explore that more fully,

A live replay.

Now when that belief gets challenged by opening to awareness,

As we started to see with Stefan when I was asking the questions earlier,

Fear arises,

And the reason the fear arises is because now its identity,

Its very life,

Is challenged,

And it's been used to 30,

30,

40,

50 years,

Being at front and center stage,

And now we're opening to awareness,

And the light of awareness is shining upon the identity self.

Now if we're prepared to trust the awareness,

The silence,

Feel the fear,

Experience the fear,

But recognize that we're the unchanging,

Untouched,

Unmoved awareness,

Then that fear,

Just like the Tingsha bells,

Will dissolve,

Will dissolve of its own accord.

That is the essence of self-realization.

So Marianne is right in her understanding that the fear that arises is actually a self-preservation mechanism,

A small identity self-preservation mechanism,

But if we're prepared to look at that fear in the eyes,

Feel it,

Face it,

Witness it,

Like the wave,

Like the tsunami,

It will simply and silently dissolve.

No effort required.

No effort required.

Let me just look at Thomas' question.

Is the ego about survival,

Fear of not surviving,

And love shrinks the ego?

In essence,

Thomas,

Yes.

It's trying to maintain this limited identity small idea of itself as the body-mind experience,

And it will do that for all its life.

It'll hang on by the fingernails on the cliff,

Afraid of falling,

But if you trust awareness,

Silence,

Then you're not actually going to fall,

You're going to fly,

And eventually you're going to realize that you are this awareness,

Silence that I point to.

So,

That awareness will dissolve the belief in the ego.

The ego here is not a bad guy.

It's like a,

You know,

Like a grain of sand that creates the pearl in an oyster.

It's a necessary tool for the body-mind experience.

The problem comes when you believe that you are that,

And that's all that you are.

I've noticed that,

Claire,

About the sun.

It's coming in through the light up there.

So,

It's the belief in the ego,

Belief in the identity that creates the problem.

The ego itself is not a problem.

The belief in attachment to an identification with the body-mind creates the problem.

When we open to awareness,

Silence,

Then that belief will get dissolved,

Get dissolved,

Get dissolved,

Usually over a period of time.

You are going to have to face the emotional body,

But as you do that with trust,

That will dissolve,

And eventually the unequivocal realization will disappear.

But it's important to remember here that that which you are seeking,

That which you are seeking,

Is actually already your essence.

So,

You're not going to earn this self-realization.

You're not going to learn this self-realization.

It's a realization,

Just like those two words,

Self,

Capitalized self,

Realization,

And this self is infinite awareness or infinite silence.

So,

Self-realization is the end of seeking.

This self is not a personal self.

It's not a personal self.

It's a universal awareness of your essence.

The identity does not like this one bit,

And that's why it runs for its life.

I have another live replay called Life is Death.

That's probably good to listen to that after you've listened to a number of other streams,

Because it gives you a much greater context for why that's true.

It's the death of the identification with attachment to belief in that all you are is the body-mind.

So,

Back to our stream title,

A Return to Love.

The way of the return to love is through awareness,

Through silence,

And we are already that,

And then the physical experience of love,

The physical experience of grace,

The physical experience of joy,

The physical experience of peace,

The physical experience of stillness,

Of silence.

Those are like the perfumes of that infinite silence.

Just like a rose has a perfume,

The rose is not the perfume,

But the perfume arises.

The silence,

The perfume of silence,

Awareness,

Is love,

Is peace,

Is grace,

Is stillness,

Is joy,

Is gratitude.

And you,

Your very essence is always that,

Always that.

There's nothing you have to do to be this.

The reason that you have a spiritual practice,

Meditation,

And spiritual inquiry,

The questions I was asking,

The who am I questions in the meditation,

They are to open you to this realization.

And eventually you will transcend the practice.

You will transcend the practice.

And you will become,

Another live stream replay I've got,

A living meditation.

A living meditation.

Because awareness never goes anywhere.

It's always here,

Now.

So simple,

So profound.

Okay,

So that's a lot of talking in response to your queries.

Great questions,

By the way.

So just enjoy a couple of minutes of harp,

And then I'll close the stream.

It might close automatically anyway,

Because I think there's a limit of two hours.

So if it does,

Thank you for joining.

Thank you for your questions.

Thank you for your donations.

Have a blessed day.

I'll give you a couple of minutes of harp,

And then we'll close.

See you all in two weeks,

Whatever date that is.

Thursday in two weeks' time.

Thank you for all the thank yous,

Everybody.

Thank you for those reminders,

Boston.

That's very,

Very helpful.

So I'm going to close the stream now.

Philip Wade here from North Yorkshire in England,

Signing off.

See you tonight,

And also in a couple of weeks' time with the essence of meditation.

Bye.
