Patience Yoga Nidra
Discover patience within through breath, body, and surrender. This yoga nidra meditation dissolves tension and awakens self-compassion. This is your invitation to welcome patience gently via body and energy flow, not force. We will work with an intention or mantra to release control and trust again in life’s flow. Affirmations rewire your nervous system for more self-acceptance. This meditation will assist with identifying and releasing hidden tension with the mind, body, or soul for deeper stillness.

We're going to use this beautiful little affirmation from this card as our intention for our meditation.
So I want you to bring into your awareness something in life that you perhaps need a little more compassion or patience with.
It could be your health,
Your sleeping patterns,
Your relationships,
It could be with an area of your work or business.
Just letting that be your intention for the meditation,
But also with this soft little affirmation.
So when I am patient,
I let the universe do for me what I cannot do for myself.
When I am patient,
I let the universe do for me what I cannot do for myself.
Just allowing those words to marrow and melt into your mind,
Your body,
And your soul.
When I am patient,
I let the universe do for me what I cannot do for myself.
So as you're resting in stillness,
I want you to release the thoughts,
Any worries,
Any tensions in the body or in the mind.
And in this moment,
I just want you to surrender to your higher power.
Surrender to yourself,
To the support of the ground.
And just giving yourself that full permission to release and let go.
Relax and trust.
So on your next inhalation,
I want you to breathe into your belly and into your chest.
And as you exhale,
Just taking a soft,
Deep sigh.
And again,
As you inhale,
Breathing into the belly and into the chest,
And taking a very deep,
Soft sigh.
Letting go,
Letting go,
Letting go into the vastness of your inner depths of patience here.
Allow yourself to feel this deep,
In a sense of contentment and connection with the patience that always resides within you.
Now following my guidance,
As we move into this next phase of the meditation,
So that you may enter into a deeper and more subtle level of relaxation,
We're going to make the bumblebee sound and breath.
In a moment,
We'll take a deep breath in.
And with closed lips,
We will begin to hum the sound of the bumblebee.
If you feel you might like to change the pitch of the sound to maximize the vibratory sensations that you will feel in your skull and in your head.
And the bumblebee breath sounds like this.
So on your next breath in,
Following me.
Now stop.
And bring your total attention to the whole body.
The sensations moving out through your head,
Through your arms,
Through your throat,
Extending throughout your entire body.
Notice that your attention will feed this energy flow.
Now just bring your attention to the center between your eyebrows.
And empty the mind of all thoughts and all sense of having to be in control.
Allow the mind and your thoughts to expand beyond the boundaries of the body.
It's time to now drop into complete silence and a deep stillness.
As we enter into this next phase of yoga nidra,
Remain as motionless as possible.
If you need to make any adjustments,
Just allow your body to do so now.
And then returning back to stillness,
To comfort,
As soon as you're able.
Resolving to remain in awareness with my voice and the sound of my voice.
Just allow the body,
The mind,
And the soul to drift into this vast energy of patience.
Knowing that nothing can disturb you in this place.
Now shift from thinking and doing to feeling and being.
Doing absolutely nothing from now on.
Just allowing the essence of patience to flood into your being.
Releasing into a state of peace,
Connection,
And tranquility.
Dropping into the space between the eyebrows,
So that you may connect with your entire energy body.
Being completely present here right now.
Softly starting to notice your breath.
And as you breathe in through the nose,
Feel the lungs fully and completely without straining.
And as you exhale,
Softly purse the lips as if you're blowing through a straw.
Feeling the energy moving out the body as if you're blowing through a straw.
As you inhale,
Feel the lungs with joy.
As you exhale,
Emptying the mind of all anticipations and the body of any tension and stress.
Each time that you inhale,
Drop into the deepest levels of silence and stillness.
As it balances and relaxes your entire nervous system.
Continuing to breathe with constant attention and a touched awareness.
Breathing out through a straw.
Allowing your patience to grow and expand as each breath releases from the body.
Breathing out whatever is holding you back from your inner patience and contentment.
And when you're ready,
Returning to your normal breathing.
Turning your attention more inwardly.
Experience the power of this vibratory movement of energy now moving through the body as you breathe.
And finding a deep sense of peace and harmony in the mind,
Body and soul.
And as you drop into the silent space,
We're all doing stalks.
Entering into a patient state of being.
And following my guidance as we move through different parts of the body.
Let your attention rest on each body part as I name it,
Without judging or any comments.
And slowly bringing your awareness to all ten toes.
Kneeling into both ankles.
Both shins.
Feeling patience growing in your knees,
In your thighs and in your hips.
Feeling into your lower abdomen,
Your navel and your upper abdomen.
Breathing in patience into the lungs and into the heart.
And into your speech and communication through your throat.
Melting patience into the right shoulder,
The right elbow and the right wrist.
Feeling into the right thumb,
Index finger,
Middle finger,
Ring finger and little finger.
Feeling into the palm of the hand and the back of the hand.
Feeling into the right wrist,
The right elbow.
And melting away all tensions into the right shoulder.
Allowing patience to come back to your speech at the throat.
And then moving into the left shoulder,
Melting away any tension.
Into the left elbow and the left wrist.
Kneeling into the right thumb,
The left thumb,
The left index finger,
The left middle finger.
Ring finger and little finger.
Feeling patience through the left palm,
The feminine side of your being and the back of the left hand.
Feeling into the left wrist,
The left elbow.
Melting away any tensions in the left shoulder.
And coming back to truth and essence in your speech at the throat.
Feeling into your chin,
Your mouth,
Your nose.
Allowing the eyes to rest into their sockets.
Noticing your eyebrows and connecting in with the center between the eyebrows.
Kneeling into the top of the head and the back of the head.
Kneeling into the back of the neck,
The tops of the shoulders,
The mule back,
And then the lower back.
Kneeling into both buttocks,
Backs of the legs,
The backs of the knees.
Kneeling into both calves,
Both heels.
Feeling into the soles of the feet.
Now feeling into the right side of the body,
And the left side of the body.
Feeling both legs,
Both arms,
Feeling the torso.
Now feeling the entire body resting patiently against the ground.
Breathing into your inner patience and guidance here.
And allowing it to expand and grow.
Refueling your resilience,
Releasing your reactivity,
Finding comfort in this space.
Feeling your patience grow and expand as every breath releases from the body.
Now in this deep state of awareness,
Allow the following polar experiences and their associations to arise and dissolve.
Allowing all experiences to move through you without preferences,
Labels,
Comments,
Or judgements.
By remaining witness to these words,
You're growing more resilient and more patient.
So feeling into a sense of joy,
A sense of peace,
A sense of pain,
But then pleasure.
Releasing your fear,
And feeling your safety.
Releasing agitation,
And finding calmness.
Releasing sadness,
And tuning into happiness.
Releasing hate,
And coming back to love.
Releasing irritability,
And connecting with your patience.
Tuning into your inner patience with the whole body here.
The centre between,
Softly drifting back into your being.
The trust,
Deep relaxation.
Know that in this moment you have connected in with grace and love.
And that all is being integrated into your being.
And that this is nothing that you need to do in order to find your patience.
Now allow yourself to respond effortlessly to the following affirmations.
I now am released from my self-image so I may explore,
Expand,
And experience my deep infinite potential that is within me.
I can always connect back with my patience and release reactivity.
I am at deep peace with myself as I am,
And the world as it is.
I go to my inner peace,
My inner patience,
So that it may heal any conflicts and restore my health,
My mind,
My body,
And my soul.
Allow these beautiful words to enter into the deepest being.
Knowing that the more often you stop,
You connect,
The easier it will be to find your patience and the longer that you can stay here.
Now if you have an area you feel that needs healing,
Whether it's physically,
Mentally,
Or emotionally,
Just allow your life and love to flow into that area now.
Feel your own inner guides protecting and blessing you and assisting you with finding more patience in life generally.
Knowing that it may come naturally without any effort or having to control.
Now beginning to softly and slowly become aware of the rising and falling of your breath.
Slowly feel yourself beginning to arise to the surface of awareness.
Slowly allowing yourself to feel the entire body resting on the earth.
Feeling the surface of the floor connecting with the body.
The quality of the air as it brushes against the skin.
Knowing that you can stay in this restful sleep,
Lying on the ground as long as you need and there's no rush for you to come to a seated position.
Taking your time.
Do not hurry.
You might like to slowly make small movements with your fingers and your toes as you awaken yourself back into the consciousness and back into your environment.
As you slowly awaken the body bring this beautiful affirmation back into your awareness.
When I am patient I let the universe do for me what I cannot do for myself.
Every time you find yourself in a reaction,
Feeling triggered,
You are empowered to replace it with this beautiful notion of being present and patient.
So we're just going to slowly awaken the body a little more now by making small circles with the wrists and our ankles.
Maybe four or five circles in one direction and four or five circles in the opposite direction.
Feeling the fingers and the toes just connecting in with the body.
Eventually perhaps bringing the hands over the head and taking a very long deep and nourishing stretch.
Eventually hugging our knees into the chest,
Giving ourselves a moment of loving gratitude for making the time and space for this practice for ourselves and for refuelling our inner patience.
Eventually you might like to move or roll to one side lying on your side and just taking a couple of breaths there.
Allowing your hands when you're ready to connect with the ground and then letting them lift you up to a seated position.
We're just going to bring our hands to proud position and just take a few breaths here.
Reconnecting with our inner patience our inner compassion and love.
And having the patience for whatever it is in life that perhaps you're being a little reactive to or impatient about.
Bowing our head towards our hands here and to each other we will say Namaste.
