Welcome to this meditation.
I invite you to allow yourself to find comfort whether that is in a meditative seat on the ground,
Sitting in a chair,
Maybe sitting outside or lying on the ground on your bed or on your couch.
And just allow yourself to settle into your position,
Settling back into your body.
Today we're going to be honoring our darknesses within us and I just want you to allow yourself to drop into your breath,
Dropping back into the body,
Letting go of the mind and I just want you to allow yourself to be with what feels dark today,
What feels heavy or maybe what feels sad.
Give yourself the permission to honor the darkness that is within you.
We all have the polarity of lightness and darkness but we are often afraid and scared of moving into or sitting and being with our darkness.
The fear quite over overwhelms us,
Being scared to look underneath the veil or looking a little deeper within.
And so I invite you to become curious as you breathe and connect a little deeper within and just see if your darkness presents itself.
Your darkness may be anxiety,
Perhaps there is a sense of shame or grief,
Guilt,
Regrets,
Sadness or a sense of melancholy or depressive tendencies.
Perhaps your darkness is a sense of powerlessness,
Not enough or not feeling worthy.
So just allow yourself to perhaps tune in to what your darkness is.
The darkness is always that pivotal point,
That part of us that wants to just be safe,
Seen and heard.
So honor and acknowledge your inner dark,
For she has so much that she wants you to just feel and connect,
Not fear or be scared of her,
But just to acknowledge that you are human.
You are human,
You have emotions and sometimes life is hard,
Sometimes it hurts,
Sometimes it is unfair,
But leaning into your dark,
Allowing yourself the space to connect,
Honor and be with whatever the dark has to show you,
Is always the path and journey back to your light,
Back to yourself.
The darkness always reveals what we no longer want or need or desire in our life.
She is very powerful,
Very mystical.
So just take five to ten breaths here.
Allow yourself to soften and lean into the dark,
Honoring whatever it is that she needs,
Honoring all the wisdom she has to share,
And just allow yourself to be with her in this moment here.
Not judging,
Not avoiding or suppressing,
Opening up that faith as you lean into the dark.
Taking another three soft and slow breaths here,
And just taking a moment to tune in to how you're feeling.
Knowing that it may have been a little scary,
A little unfamiliar,
Perhaps hugely discomforting and out of that zone of comfort,
But knowing that the more you lean into your dark,
Lean into what scares you,
Lean into those moments in life that are low,
The more easily you will be able to sit with her,
Acknowledge what she needs,
And then move forward in life.
So just see if your inner dark has some words of wisdom for you.
What is she telling you today?
Perhaps there's something she wants you to do.
Let her guide you.
For she is your inner resource to find you back to your path,
Your journey and to your light.
Take a moment of gratitude,
Or maybe even forgiveness,
Of self and your inner darkness.
Knowing that the more you connect in with your inner dark,
The easier it becomes to have a relationship with her.
Slowly starting to just notice the body,
Coming back to your natural breath,
Perhaps wiggling toes and fingers,
Maybe taking a stretch or a twist.
Knowing that like our lightness,
Our darkness has so much wisdom to share as well.
And that the more you build this relationship,
The more wisdom,
Growth she has to share with you.
Knowing you can stay in this meditative position for a little longer if this serves you.
You might also feel like journaling.
Whatever it is that you're called to do after our time together,
Allow yourself to have a beautiful day,
Whether you're in your inner light or your inner dark.
