Let's look at the word Reiki,
R-E-I-K-I,
Reiki.
It translates into Universal Energy,
Literally,
Universal Energy.
So it's yours,
It's universal.
This is yours whenever you want.
Let me explain how it works.
Everything,
Every living thing relies on a universal energy.
Everything is energy.
And for optimum well-being,
That universal energy,
Love,
Healing,
Whatever you want to call it,
Reiki,
Would find its way and gently flow through us.
Just like it does an ancient oak,
This hanging plant that's next to me,
A river.
Everything likes to keep moving for optimum performance and well-being.
So far,
So good.
But there are times in our life,
Folks,
Whether it's physical,
Mentally,
Emotional,
Whether it's something outside of us or inside of us,
It can knock us over,
It can dent us,
It can slow us down.
And this has the effect of blocking our energy.
So suddenly that flow that just wants to keep going,
It wants you to be well,
That energy slows down,
Stops.
And just like in nature,
Anything that stops flowing soon becomes stagnant.
So in essence,
Reiki,
Universal energy,
Has a very simple purpose.
It unties the knot.
It removes the blockage.
It supports you when you don't think you can.
It's infinite.
But the main purpose of Reiki is to get that energy flowing again.
The Reiki that I've taught for about 20 years in the UK is the original form,
Usui Reiki.
Sorry about the glare there.
This is Dr.
Mikko Usui,
Who is the originator of Reiki back in Japan in the late 1800s.
I've been thinking,
Actually,
I've had this picture for about 20 years and I used to think he was an elderly Japanese gentleman,
But time has stood still.
So as my hair has disappeared and my beard's gone grey,
I now reckon I actually look older than Dr.
Mikko Usui.
It's all relative.
But Dr.
Mikko Usui will be overseeing this session with us today.
So let's talk about how we bring this universal energy,
Reiki,
Into this space,
Into the space where you are now.
We're going to focus on seven energy centers called chakras.
You may know this.
Chakra is a Sanskrit word.
It means wheel or vortex.
So remember,
I talked about that flow of energy.
Well,
Each chakra simply wants to move it on.
Each chakra has a very specific job to do for you mentally,
Physically,
Emotionally,
Holistically.
And I'll take you through each chakra as we do the self-healing journey together.
So we're going to call in this abundant,
Limitless flow of Reiki and we're going to start to work with each chakra together.
Totally safe.
Only good can come from your experience and your connection to Reiki.
So I ask you to let go and allow.
Don't have any preconceived ideas about how this should be.
All as I know is that very quickly,
Reiki will flow safely and easily.
So it's a three step process,
Folks,
To connect to Reiki.
That's never changed for me in over 20 years.
I haven't simplified this for effect.
The first step is going to be to place our hands into what's known as the gas hoe position.
The gas hoe position.
So this just sees you gently place your hands against your heart space.
You may recognize it as a position of prayer or gratitude and both work really well here.
But this is called gas hoe,
A connection to the divine.
And when we gently place our hands against our heart space and just breathe gently and slowly,
It's as if there's a change in us.
It's as if we know that we're going to go to a deeper,
All knowing place.
Just this act of moving to gas hoe changes something somehow.
So let's just have a few seconds in silence,
Have no expectations.
And let's just gently focus on our breath as you feel your hands against your heart in the gas hoe position.
It's as if we're slowing down now,
You and I.
Taking our time.
Allowing ourselves to be here now.
You're doing great.
Keeping our hands in the gas hoe position,
The second step to connect to Reiki is just to evoke the Reiki power,
The Reiki flow.
And we do this with a simple one line affirmation.
I'm going to give you the affirmation twice and then I'm going to leave a space for you to repeat it to yourself three times.
Don't worry if your words aren't exact,
You can't get this wrong.
It's all about your intent to take care of yourself now.
So our hands are in gas hoe.
I'm now going to repeat the line to you twice and then I'll leave a space for you to repeat it to yourself three times.
I now connect to Reiki for my greatest and highest good.
I now connect to Reiki for my greatest and highest good.
That's perfect.
Like I said,
If the words weren't exact,
Everything is still well.
And now the third step.
I'm going to ask you to close your eyes just for a couple of minutes.
We can open them at any point as I take you through the practice.
But the third step with our hands in gas hoe.
With the affirmation repeated is to close our eyes and move to the top of your head.
To the crown.
And this is the point of entry for Reiki.
It's already flowing now to you safely,
Easily,
Abundantly.
I would like you just to check.
Check in with this spot.
Visualize the Reiki entering.
It may be as a light.
It may be like a mist or a fog swirling.
It may be a heat.
A general vibration.
It may be like a liquid,
An elixir that gently runs down.
You can't get this wrong.
But just visualize and sense now.
As Reiki flows down through the top of the head.
Into the head space behind the eyes.
Down into the neck,
Shoulders,
Arms.
And through to the palms of your hands.
Let's move back to the top of the head and go again.
As Reiki flows down through the head space.
Gently already healing.
Calming,
Balancing.
Down through the shoulders,
The arms and into the palms of the hands.
You may wish to just rub the hands gently if that feels right.
Just to really start to evoke that energy.
One last time as we go to the top of your head.
Visualizing,
Sensing,
Accepting that Reiki now flows.
Universal energy.
Healing,
Loving,
Balancing.
Down through into the shoulders,
The arms and into the palms of your hands.
Now an invitation just to open your eyes for a moment.
Let me just show you it's good practice when we pass Reiki on now to each chakra.
Just to keep our fingers closed.
Not open,
So closed.
And the middle fingers touching again.
Is good practice as I'll take you through this.
So let's now begin with the base or root chakra.
And we're going to place our hands into the pelvic area.
So this will see you place your hands onto your lap.
Just become comfortable.
Feel the connection.
And if it helps,
Close your eyes again and I'll take you through the benefits of Reiki flowing to the base chakra.
So Reiki now flows through the top of your head.
Down through into your shoulders,
Arms,
The palms of your hands.
But now moving on purposefully and easily to the base chakra.
Just send in Reiki now to your base or root chakra.
To energize,
Balance and remove any blockages as required.
Let's just take 10 seconds or so in silence and really connect with that flow.
Don't worry if you're not sensing it.
Just let go and allow as the flow leaves the palms of your hands.
And Reiki enters the base chakra.
And the base chakra is all about grounding yourself.
It's all about bringing your energy low.
So you can really sense this moment,
This practice.
Remind yourself that all is well here and now.
We can be blown around like a leaf in the wind sometimes you and I.
With our energy high outside of ourselves or stuck in our head.
When we send Reiki to the base chakra it gently brings you back here.
Now.
Like the roots of a tree.
A color associated with the base chakra for thousands of years is red.
Red.
So if it feels right,
Just evoke that color in some way now.
To align it to your base chakra.
The color red.
An affirmation associated with the base chakra is I connect.
I connect.
So just be around that affirmation,
That color.
As Reiki flows to heal,
Balance and energize your base chakra.
Bringing your energy low.
Let's now move on to the second chakra together.
This is the sacral chakra.
So again,
Fingers closed,
Middle fingers together.
And this will see you place your hands in your lower abdomen.
Just below the belly button or the navel.
The sacral chakra.
Let's connect with that flow again.
Reiki flows through the top of the head.
Down through the shoulders,
Arms,
Into the palms of your hands.
And now on easily,
Effortlessly to heal,
Balance and energize the sacral chakra.
Color associated with the sacral chakra is orange.
Like a sunset.
Or the fruit.
Just be around the color orange now as Reiki flows.
To balance,
Energize and remove any blockages from the sacral chakra.
An affirmation associated with the sacral chakra is I move.
I move.
And the sacral chakra is all about movement,
But not just physical.
Let me explain.
When energy is stuck here in the sacral chakra.
Remember,
It's just energy.
It wants to move.
It wants you to be well.
But when energy is stuck here.
It's as if we can't find a way through.
We feel stuck like we're at a crossroads with someone,
Something.
We lack clarity.
So sending Reiki to the sacral chakra will bring movement.
Will move on that energy.
Will bring guidance and support.
Often in the form of a subtle nudge.
But when the sacral chakra is open and flowing.
Ideas,
Movement,
Direction comes.
So let's think of something now where perhaps you're feeling a little bit stuck in life.
With someone,
Something,
With yourself.
This could be anything.
Whatever comes to mind is perfect.
And then just experience the stuckness.
It's real.
As you send Reiki to your sacral chakra.
Just allow the thing where you're feeling you lack clarity.
Just a bubble to the surface.
This is a very safe practice.
Sending Reiki to your sacral chakra now to bring movement.
Clarity.
Direction.
A simple nudge.
The sacral chakra.
The colour orange.
I move.
Now let's move to our solar plexus chakra together.
Placing our hands now at the bottom of the ribcage and centrally.
Against the solar plexus chakra.
The colour associated with the solar plexus chakra is yellow.
Like sunshine or fields of corn.
Whatever comes to you.
But look to evoke the colour yellow now.
Sometimes people visualise that the Reiki is the colour of the chakra as it leaves the palms.
So maybe Reiki is yellow now.
As it moves to energise,
Balance and remove any blockages from your solar plexus chakra.
You're doing great.
Energy that gets stuck here in the solar plexus often manifests itself as anxiety.
Worry.
Uncertainty.
Indeed when I get anxious about something I feel it here.
Like this buzzing electricity,
This fluttering trapped energy.
It simply wants to move.
Reiki will untie the knot and allow the flow to go.
So when we send Reiki to our solar plexus chakra.
It gently brings us courage.
Willpower.
Indeed the affirmation for the solar plexus chakra is I can.
I can.
So again let's trust the process together safely.
I'm going to invite you now to bring something forward that you're anxious about.
Perhaps worried.
It's been on your mind.
This can be quite mild or quite severe.
Trust it.
It's safe.
It simply wants this to move on.
It wants to remind you that all is well.
Everything is temporary.
And when the solar plexus chakra turns.
Anxiety.
Worry.
Uncertainty.
Ease.
The solar plexus chakra.
The color yellow.
I can.
Let's now move to the fourth chakra together.
The heart chakra.
The heart chakra is positioned high up on the breastbone.
So this will see you place your hands gently here now.
Let's just take a moment to reconnect to the top of the head folks.
For Reiki to flow down through your shoulders,
Arms into the palms of your hands.
All is well.
So we're now sending Reiki to the heart chakra.
A color associated with a heart chakra for thousands of years is green.
Green.
This is why a walk in nature or just stepping out into the garden or an outdoor space sometimes.
Seems to open the heart.
Seems to lift our spirits.
An affirmation associated with a heart chakra is I accept.
I accept.
I accept.
I accept.
Your heart chakra is so important for your holistic well-being,
Your journey through life.
It's the tipping point.
Between the lower more earthly chakras.
And the higher more divine chakras where only love exists.
So this is where we connect with love.
And the reason that the affirmation I accept is so important is that the beginning of any journey.
Physical,
Mental,
Emotional,
Spiritual.
Has to start with us accepting where we are right now.
Whatever has happened to bring you to this point.
Acceptance that this is your starting point for what's next is key.
To become comfortable in your own skin.
At this point.
To know that you are safe.
At this point.
And we live in a hard closed world you and I.
And naturally,
Sometimes we can become hard and closed ourselves to protect ourselves.
I get it.
I do it.
But my experience of sending Reiki to my heart chakra.
Is it reminds me that's not who I really am.
It gently.
Switches the light on.
Reminds me of my true nature.
Acceptance,
Compassion.
Love for myself and so for others.
Let's just spend 20 seconds or so in silence.
As we allow Reiki to flow to this critical energy center,
The heart chakra.
To remind you that you are never alone.
But you are good enough.
And to help you take care of yourself now.
The heart chakra.
The color green.
I accept.
Now let's move to our fifth chakra together.
This is the throat chakra.
So this will see you gently cradle the neck.
And it can be just as effective to have your hands away from your neck.
As it is to place them against the skin.
Whatever feels right for you.
Or you may wish to try both.
Again the throat chakra is so important on our well-being.
Personal development journey.
We'll make a lot of changes in our lives you and I.
Normally internal at first.
And at some point we have to project that out.
We have to speak it out into the world.
And this can be like a bottleneck.
Energy can get trapped here.
And it becomes difficult to speak our truth.
To speak from a position of authenticity.
It's just trapped energy.
Nothing more.
So when we send Reiki to the throat chakra.
It gives you the courage to speak your truth.
The color associated with the throat chakra is blue.
Blue.
And the affirmation for the throat chakra is I speak.
I speak.
But again this isn't just about the spoken word.
It's deeper than that.
It's about communicating honestly with yourself and others.
And everything is about balance.
And when the throat chakra is balanced.
Sometimes it encourages us not to speak.
Not to react.
But to count to three.
As everything is temporary and things move on.
So it's all about deeper,
Compassionate communication.
The throat chakra.
The color blue.
I speak.
Now let's move to the sixth chakra together.
The third eye chakra which is positioned centrally in the forehead.
You can either place your hands side by side.
With your palms in the eye sockets.
Which is very nurturing.
Or you can place one hand in front and one hand behind.
Whatever works best for you.
The third eye chakra.
The color associated with the third eye chakra is indigo.
Indigo.
An affirmation is I see.
I see.
But again this isn't just about physical sight.
It's deeper than that.
Sending Reiki to your third eye chakra will greatly improve your intuition.
It is if you can really see.
There is a knowing to what you see.
You can see through situations.
Through people.
Through life.
And here's the key folks.
You always look through a compassionate lens.
So if any issues need to be sorted.
It's as if you find the solution that serves everyone.
Let's just take a moment to allow Reiki to flow to your third eye chakra.
I see.
I see.
Another benefit of sending Reiki to the third eye chakra is it can release intrusive thoughts.
Thoughts that go round and round and round.
Are just trapped energy.
A thought by its very nature is an electrical pulse.
It wants to be immediate.
It wants to go.
So sending Reiki to the third eye is like a release valve.
Resetting.
Taking care of yourself.
The third eye chakra.
The colour indigo.
I see.
Let's now move to our final chakra.
The crown chakra.
Placing your hands on top of your head now.
Our connection to the divine.
To the light.
To all that is.
Sometimes by giving it a name it lessens its importance or its meaning.
Indeed an affirmation connected to the crown chakra is I know.
I know.
The colour associated with the crown chakra is white.
Just really allow your connection now to the divine.
To balance,
Energise and flow.
In the book A Course in Miracles it tells us that if we ever knew who walked beside us.
We would never know fear again.
If you only knew who walked beside you.
You would never know fear again.
Open the crown chakra to that.
Be part of the whole.
Be open.
Another way of seeing the crown chakra.
Is like taking a step back.
And looking at your life through a wider,
Softer,
More compassionate lens.
There is before,
There is after,
There is now.
But perhaps our only job is to take care of ourselves now.
The crown chakra.
The colour white.
I know.
And so it is.
I now invite you just to place your hands back into the gas hoe position.
Take a couple of deeper breaths.
All is well.
And now totally going with your intuition.
I ask you to revisit somewhere on your body.
This can be a chakra.
This can be a pain that you're having.
Or it could be a random place.
But place your hands there now.
Knowing that more Reiki is required.
Don't second guess it.
Don't question it.
Just follow your intuition and place your hands where more Reiki is needed now.
And let's just have a minute.
Before we close the session.
Now placing your hands for the final time into the gas hoe position.
And I ask on behalf of everyone connected with this session,

That Reiki continues to flow to you.
