Namaste and welcome to today's guided meditation where we are planting the seed of self-compassion.
To begin,
Take a moment to slowly arrive and settle in to a comfortable seated position.
Let the spine be straight,
Long.
Relax your shoulders,
Relax the jaw,
And on an exhale,
When you're ready,
Slowly close the eyes.
Take a moment now to ground your attention into the surface beneath you,
Whether that is a chair,
The floor,
A cushion,
Or blanket.
Bring your attention into the surface supporting you,
Holding you in your practice.
Sense the energy of the space supporting you.
Notice the energy or presence of the surface holding you,
As well as that of the air surrounding you.
Now take a few long,
Slow,
Deep breaths,
Exhaling completely out through an open mouth,
Releasing any obvious tension.
Invite your thoughts to soften.
Without getting involved,
Simply watch the natural flow of your breath.
Notice how the body breathes and allow the breath to flow at its own depth.
Allow it to flow at its own pace,
Noticing how each and every breath supports you,
Nourishes you,
And becomes an act of love.
I invite you to breathe with this awareness of love,
Letting each breath be an offering to your body,
To your heart,
To your spirit.
As you inhale,
Feel a sense of love,
Compassion,
And kindness growing inside of you.
And as you exhale,
Continue to soften.
Feel how each breath fills you with love,
Which awakens the energy of self-compassion.
As you continue to breathe,
Begin to repeat these words silently or out loud.
I love myself with each breath that I take.
I love myself with each breath that I take.
I love myself with each breath that I take.
Continue to sense into the energy of compassion that fills you.
Notice how it fills you from the inside out.
If you notice that the mind wanders away,
Simply return your attention to the flow of your loving breath.
Continue to sense into the energy of compassion that fills you.
Now release any words from your mind.
Continue to breathe naturally as you return your attention to the surface supporting you,
Bringing your attention back into the body.
When ready to do so,
Reconnect with your physical body by welcoming some light movement.
Gently wiggle your fingers,
Your toes.
Allow the body to start moving in any way that it wants to.
And when you are ready,
You may slowly open your eyes,
Letting loving breaths continue to support you throughout your day.
