Riding on stone is a world heritage site right in the middle of my own backyard.
The hoodoos are these incredible sandstone pillars in the middle of the prairies near Milk River.
Their existence,
Their presence,
And their healing energy is quite profound.
I feel a sense of gratitude and appreciation towards this sacred place.
The hoodoos are where the Blackfoot people would come to honor spirit beings.
The rock art connects the physical and the spiritual worlds.
I am in awe of their beauty and their strength.
I am in awe of their ability to withstand mankind and the weather.
I feel tremendous gratitude towards the Blackfoot people for their willingness to share this tremendous place with the world,
Even after all of the pain and suffering that they have endured.
You can feel the energy of their grace,
Their strength,
Their beauty,
Their resilience,
And their peace at riding on stone.
I will now take you through a guided meditation.
At the end of the meditation,
You'll hear a soft bell.
It is important to come out of the meditation slowly and to take your time.
There's no rush.
The theme of this meditation is capturing the healing energy of the hoodoos.
Let us be resilient in mind and body.
Mindfulness is about engaging your attention in the present moment on what you are experiencing without judgment.
Let us center our attention and bring awareness to the present moment.
Let us center our attention and bring awareness to healing energy.
Explore this meditation with mindful curiosity as you become mindful of your body,
Mindful of your environment,
Mindful of your healing energy,
And as you maintain a gentle present moment focus.
Start by finding a comfortable position and let us settle into our breath.
Placing your feet flat on the ground with your hands laying comfortably in your lap.
Or if you're sitting on a cushion,
Find a comfortable position with your hands resting comfortably in your lap.
Closing your eyes if you prefer and become present and relaxed in this moment.
Observe the sensations of the body and notice what you are thinking.
As you become more relaxed,
Notice the chatter of your mind starting to quiet.
When your mind wanders,
Come back to your breath in this present moment.
Being mindful of anything getting in your way and let it go on the next exhale breath.
Gently release any tension you notice.
Being resilient,
Composed,
And present in healing energy.
Letting go of anything that might be getting in the way of you being here in this present moment.
Remembering it's okay to have thoughts.
And when a thought occurs,
Simply notice the thought without judgment and then let it go on the next exhale breath.
Allowing each area of your body to settle into the breath.
Explore the sensations in your body mindfully,
With healing energy and without judgment.
Notice if you're feeling any aches or pains in a specific area.
Any numbness or tingling sensations.
Breathing into the sensation and let it go on the next exhale breath.
Breathing into any of the aches or pains sensations and letting it go.
Let us practice resilience and healing energy.
Resilient in mind,
Resilient in body,
And resilient in spirit.
Give gratitude to your healing energy.
Give gratitude to the spirit and energy in your community.
And to the world.
Explore the sensations in your body mindfully,
With curiosity and without judgment.
Let us practice healing.
Mindfully engaging your attention in the present moment on what you are experiencing without judgment.
For this meditation,
Let us welcome everything.
And simply let go of any expectations.
At any point during this meditation,
If your mind starts to wander,
Simply come back to your breath as an anchor of focus.
At any point during this meditation,
If your mind starts to wander,
Simply state silently to yourself what the thought is without judgment.
For example,
If your mind wanders to the past,
Silently state to yourself past and come back to your breath as an anchor of focus.
If your mind wanders to planning your to do list,
Simply state silently planning and come back to your breath as an anchor of focus.
Or if your mind wanders to the future,
Simply state silently future and come back to your breath as an anchor of focus.
In this present moment,
Come back to your healing energy.
Remembering to be kind to yourself.
Notice your experience.
We will take the next few moments in silence,
Giving you the opportunity to continue to focus your breath as you mindfully maintain a gentle present moment awareness.
Let us explore the healing energy of the silence.
I will keep track of the time as we take these moments of silence together.
Let us explore the healing energy as we take these moments of silence together.
Let us explore the healing energy as we take these moments of silence together.
