Your gut feelings beginning.

Hi loves,

I'm Liz Hutchinson,

A gut brain focused meditation and mindfulness teacher.

Let's begin by making sure you're comfortable and sitting or lying with your spine straight and lower back gently supported.

You can have your eyes closed or softly focused downwards if that feels better for you.

Your meditation practice is where you find your own comfort,

Your own peace and tapping lovingly with your inner self.

We spend so much time focusing externally that we forget to check in with ourselves to become conscious of ourselves in the present.

The power of your mind is connected to your gut through the gut-brain connection otherwise known as the vagus nerve.

This wandering nerve needs your time,

Energy and love to reconnect and restore the pathway so your mind and gut can communicate effectively with one another.

If you suffer with digestive disorders such as IBS or IBD,

Your gut-brain connection is damaged and needs to be repaired.

So let's practice this restoration,

Reconnection and relaxation by taking a beautiful,

Purposeful deep breath in through your nose and hold it for a moment.

This conscious breath work,

Practice controlling,

Slowing and now gently releasing the breath through the mouth,

Signals to your body that you're not in distress,

That your nervous system can switch to your body's rest and digest phase,

Where your digestive system is powering at optimum capacity and your body is no longer primed for flight,

Fight or freeze.

While continuing to be conscious of your breath,

Your switch,

Your anchor,

Start to also take note of how your body feels.

Maybe you're feeling good today,

Rested,

Comfortable,

Happy,

Calm or maybe you're feeling bloated,

Cramping,

Flaring,

Stressed,

Anxious,

Exhaustion and overwhelmed.

All these feelings are valid.

Take a moment to acknowledge them and refocus on your breath.

Where in your body are you holding your feelings of distress or discomfort?

Do you need to drop your shoulders?

Unclench your jaw and follow your brow.

Let's place a hand gently on our tummies and draw our focus to what feelings you're holding there.

Where do you feel tightly wound,

Clenched,

Pressure,

Pain,

Stress?

Take a deep breath in through your nose and acknowledge this time and space you've given to yourself.

Your body needs this.

Your body deserves your love.

You have nowhere else you need to be,

My love.

Make your exhales gentle,

Purposeful and compassionate.

Release what you've been holding.

Release what you don't need.

Let go of these thoughts and preconceived ideas that don't serve you.

Your body is doing the best job it can.

It loves you.

It houses all that you are and all that you can be.

By sharing this time with your body,

You begin your healing.

You let it know you love it back.

You reconnect your gut-brain connection and empower yourself with so much light,

Love,

Life and beauty.

Your best life is not found in forward projecting or ruminating in the past.

It's found by being present in the moment,

Finding joy in the little things.

There's no stress in the present when you bring attention to living consciously.

Enjoy it.

Enjoy you.

Love yourself and the time you get to reconnect with your inner peace and beauty.

You can become.

You can be peaceful.

You are beautiful.

You are worthy.

Thank yourself for this practice.

Thank you for spending this time with me.

I'll speak to you next time.

Meet your Teacher
