This is a short seated meditation that can be used to connect to the Warrior Archetype and a great way to practice focus and strength of will. The Meditations are an optional bonus. If you have a hard time with meditation, feel free to skip this activity. However, I do suggest trying it out with an open mind and see if you gain anything from it. Try and listen to this meditation a few days this week during the morning. If you don’t have time, listening to it once this week is sufficient.

Transcript

For this meditation,

We will be evoking the essence of the warrior.

We will do this by practicing focus,

Determination,

And strength of spirit.

For the true strength of the warrior lies in the interior of his heart,

Mind,

And spirit.

For this meditation,

We will be sitting and having some object to look at.

It could be a candle.

It could be a stone.

Anything that you have.

Place that item in front of you and sit with eyes open.

Begin by focusing on the breath.

Take a deep inhalation and exhalation.

Do not force your breath.

Just allow a deep inhalation and exhalation.

Allow your mind to quiet.

Now looking ahead of you,

Let your eyes gaze onto the object.

Focus your mind on this object.

Notice its color,

Its texture.

Do not try to think of anything else,

Only this object before you.

Now while still staring at this object,

Allow your vision to expand,

Noticing the periphery,

The edges of your sight.

Become present in this space,

But ever focused on the object.

Try to allow yourself to become aware of both your breath while focusing on this object.

This is the warrior's mind,

The strength to focus,

The resolve.

If thoughts come up,

Cast them to the side.

Do not feel bad for a failure of focus,

If you lose sight or your mind wanders,

Just allow it to come back.

It is inevitable,

It is inevitable to lose focus,

But the warrior energy is about getting back up and striving forward.

This is the practice,

The practice of resolve.

Every time your mind wanders and you bring it back,

You are practicing the skill.

You are gaining strength in the interior of your heart,

Of your mind,

Of your spirit.

If you've lost track of your breath,

Come back to it.

Taking deep breaths in and deep breaths out.

Now when you feel like it,

Allow yourself to relax your gaze,

To move it from this object.

Become aware of the room and allow yourself to move ever so slightly to wake up the body.

This meditation is one to practice the warrior spirit.

It can be hard to stare at something with such determination,

But this meditation is a good way to practice,

To practice in a safe setting,

Gain that resolve that over time you might see mirrored in your life.

Being able to hold on to your beliefs and your tasks and your goal with that same amount of focus,

Bringing the warrior archetype into your life.

Excellent practice, focusing on the breath, the object and the peripheral of sight helps calm the mind.
