A gentle, kind, and profoundly relaxing practice to help you soften and settle into this moment. It includes a Flow Journaling prompt to invite you to connect with your inner wisdom. If you choose to write, simply pick up your pen, write for a page, or set a (gentle) timer - and see where your words take you. To explore the practice of Flow Journaling further, please see my course: 'Journaling Quest for Compassion', here on Insight Timer.

Hey,

My lovely,

It's so good to see you here.

Welcome to today's Finding Flow practice,

A brief delicious meditation,

Followed by a flow journaling prompt.

You can return to this whenever you wish.

This is your time to settle deeply,

Listen in,

And see where your words take you.

So let's begin by becoming more comfortable.

David G says that comfort is queen.

And I love this idea that our own comfort is of paramount importance,

Especially when we're turning toward a practice such as flow journaling.

So allow your body to settle.

Allow your jaw,

Your shoulders to soften.

If you're feeling any tension in your chest,

Your belly,

Your back.

Take a few deeper breaths and invite some ease to enter in.

Notice if there's any sense of holding on in your hands,

Your arms and let them soften too.

Feel the energy that your legs,

Your feet have been exerting as they carry you.

And let them know that they can rest now too.

Let the muscles of your face soften as your whole body begins to settle into this moment,

This space.

And take a few lovely,

Deep inhales in through the nose and out through the mouth,

Like a gentle sigh.

Maybe moving your attention around your body,

Noticing wherever it is that you feel the movement that accompanies your breath.

Not trying to change it or inform it in any way.

Simply noticing.

And just notice how your body is feeling right now.

Is there any way you could bring even more comfort?

Even more ease?

It's okay to shift and move a little.

If that's what will support you.

Today,

We're really listening to our bodies.

We're listening deeply to our bodies.

Hearing what wisdom there is within.

And hearing what our bodies are asking us for,

Too.

What kindness we can extend toward ourselves.

Just as we're extending kindness toward our body right now.

And if you notice your beautiful,

Brilliant mind,

Wandering off,

Trying to solve things,

To review things.

That's okay.

We simply invite our attention to return to the breath.

And to the tiny movements that accompany each inhale,

And each exhale.

And with exquisite gentleness.

Softly blink open your eyes and reach for your journal and your pen.

And write to this prompt.

When I listen deeply,

I begin to hear.

When I listen deeply,

I begin to hear.

And see where your words take you.

With love.

So relaxing! By the time I picked up my pen to write, the words just flowed. So helpful. The words the feelings felt like they were flowing from deep nside....and then, the same voice began to answer the questions from within. And assured me it would never leave, would always be there. Very powerful practice, and yes, will return again.
