Hi,
So we're going to talk a little bit today about journaling.
Journaling is so,
So incredibly powerful and it is part of what allows us to bring out into the open what is held deep inside of us.
A lot of issues that we experience happens because we cover things up,
We deny things,
We suppress things,
We hide things away.
Basically those very secrets that are held in our hearts that we don't give voice to,
That we don't give expression to,
Become the things that unconsciously block us.
So every time we're experiencing roadblocks,
Every time we're experiencing obstacles,
Every time we're experiencing challenges that seem to keep repeating themselves,
I.
E.
Any time we experience a reoccurring pattern in our life that is not serving us,
Then you can guarantee that it is because of a deeply held secret,
Maybe a secret even within ourselves,
Something we haven't owned ourselves,
Something we haven't acknowledged,
Something we haven't been able to give voice to.
And so journaling becomes this powerful force in our lives where we use it to basically bring to the surface,
To bring out,
To give voice to,
To give expression to the very things that are held deep inside of us.
Often we know the answers,
We just don't know that we know the answers because we've been muted for so long.
A lot of traumas that stem from childhood or from even other lifetimes,
Traumas that don't even necessarily belong to us,
That we've inherited from other people,
Because they've not been able to be fully expressed,
Because we haven't even understood them,
They stay within us and need expression.
And so journaling becomes that portal,
That kind of opportunity to release what is held.
Like I say,
We often know more than we think we know.
So when we are able to sit down with pen and paper,
And for those of you who are more auditory,
You might want to just say it out loud,
Go to a beach or a park somewhere where you're not going to be disturbed,
Say it out loud and just express it,
Maybe say it.
But writing is so beautiful because it connects us to our hearts.
And when we write streams of consciousness,
So what I mean by that is when we write without any other agenda,
Then to just let whatever is on our mind to spill out with an intention around one thing.
So for example,
It might be something around,
You know,
When I was five.
When you have that intention and you start writing streams of consciousness,
And the intention to get to a resolution to heal a pattern to release something that's no longer serving you,
Then that stream of consciousness will lead you to both releasing what you've known but not being able to say or give voice to,
But it will also give you an opportunity to get to answers that were always within you as well.
You know,
The answers exist simultaneously as a problem.
And so whenever there's a problem,
When we are able to face it,
Confront it,
Then the solution presents itself.
And writing gives us the opportunity to face those problems in the privacy of our own space.
So we don't have to say it to anybody.
We don't need to share it with anybody until we're ready.
We may want to,
That's okay too.
But when we journal,
We have the freedom to be truly ourselves.
And sometimes being ourselves might not be very pretty.
Sometimes being ourselves,
You know,
To the outside world might look sort of ugly and attractive,
Too aggressive,
Too angry,
Too upset,
Too sad,
Too sensitive.
None of that is true.
Those are our feelings and we have a right to those feelings.
And so in the privacy of our own space,
We're able to give it some voice,
We're able to give it some space,
We're able to give it the opportunity to come out in whichever way it needs to come out.
But also remember that when we write,
We don't just write to release,
We write to find the solutions,
To find the answers.
So when we go in with an intention to write stream of consciousness around a particular issue or an experience,
A trauma,
Whatever it might be,
It might be a particular person,
When we are able to be truly honest with ourselves,
We will find the answers.
And those answers are going to be the very thing that allows us to release that pattern so that it no longer blocks us from whatever it is we want to achieve in life,
Wherever we want to get to,
Whatever we want to experience.
And that is the purpose of journaling.
Now the other part of journaling is once we write,
I really recommend that,
You know,
If you get nuggets and you get solutions,
Put it in a separate book,
But whatever your stream of consciousness is,
I really recommend you burn it or you shred it and you get rid of it,
You put it in the recycle bin,
Whatever feels comfortable for you.
But we want to get rid of it,
We don't want to hold on to it.
So write stream of consciousness with an intention around a particular thing or a person.
Write to be really,
Really honest.
There's no one who has to see it.
So it's just for you to be truly honest and authentic with who you are,
How you feel,
How you might have felt,
Even if it's not what you feel now.
And then to burn it,
But to save the nuggets,
Save the solutions,
The answers,
The answers,
The beauty that you got out of the writing,
Save that and save it in another journal.
