Hey my friend,

This meditation is all about giving our body some love.

We're surrounded by the media that tells us we should look this way or that way.

That we should have flat bellies and big boobs and perky bums.

And all this is telling us is that if we don't look that way,

Then we mustn't be healthy enough or lovable enough.

When really,

None of that shows us who we really are.

We are not our bodies.

We are not our bra size or our waist size.

We are not our lumps or bumps or stretch marks.

We are our actions,

Our behaviour and our attitudes.

We are what is underneath it all.

So this meditation is going to reframe the idea we have of our body.

That it needs to look a certain way to be enough.

So that when we show up on our mat,

We show up with our efforts.

We know we are making effort towards our goals because we are simply showing ourselves some love and attention and nothing else.

So start by sitting up,

Anywhere you fancy and just shake it out.

Shake out your shoulders,

Your arms,

Your hands.

Relax your face and give it a bit of a shake.

Just let it all out.

Keep your eyes open for this meditation unless you prefer to have them closed.

Take three lovely breaths,

Nice and deep into your belly.

Beginning to relax your shoulders,

Softening behind your belly.

Release to the back of your neck and your jaw.

Feel your cheeks melt,

Your hands tingle and soften.

And your legs heavy.

So become aware of your sit bones and how they are connected to the floor.

We are going to start by bringing your awareness to your feet.

Your toes,

Your nails and your lovely feet.

Give them some love.

Tell them you are proud of getting you from A to B.

From your bed to your bathroom,

From your work to your house to your friends and your family.

Notice how resilient they are.

Compliment your toenails,

Whatever they look like.

They are yours and they are beautiful because they belong only to you.

Now begin to notice your knees,

Your calves and your shins.

The beautiful joints and bones that allow you to sit,

To step,

To bend.

They've also shown you strength and power and support.

They've taken bruises and scrapes and they are still standing and still supporting you.

Give them a wee compliment and thank them for being there for you,

Whatever condition they are in.

Now let's say hello to our thighs.

Our lovely,

Strong and powerful thighs.

Our thighs that help us with the tough things in life,

That keep us steady and grounded.

They support so much of the rest of our body and deserve our love and attention.

Place your hands on your thighs,

Feel the warmth and say thank you.

Now,

Hello to our pelvis,

Our hips and our beautiful sex organs.

This entire area of our body can get so neglected from our love and attention.

Let's show it it's worthy of our adoration by showing it some love now.

Our hips give us so much.

Our sex organs look after us every day.

And our pelvis supports it all.

Again,

Whatever shape,

Design or contours we own,

They are ours and ours alone.

And they deserve to be loved by us.

Bring your awareness now to your belly.

Your beautiful belly that stores and recycles the delicious things we eat.

The belly that holds our memories of meals with friends and evenings with loved ones.

That holds the way we love ourselves with a treat ever so often and delicious coffee.

Our strong and lovely belly that looks however it looks and is still 100% lovable.

Now let's welcome in our hands.

The hands that provide our life for us.

The hands that connect us to ourselves and to others.

Our hands that we can pamper and bejewel.

Our strong,

Capable and willing hands.

Give them a compliment and thank them for showing up for us every day.

Now focusing on our arms.

Our forearms,

Elbows and upper arms.

The arms that hold our loved ones close.

That carry the weight of our shopping and our stress.

The arms that are important regardless of their size or what they look like.

Say hello to them and thank you.

Focus now on your chest and shoulders.

The part of our body that carries love,

Emotion,

Words,

Pain,

Sadness,

Joy and everything in between.

The chest and shoulders that allow you to breathe freely.

And is strong enough to carry the weight of your stress and your emotions.

The collarbone that keeps your upper body strong.

And your shoulders that keep you proud.

And finally,

Let's say hello to our neck,

Our face and our head.

Our throat that allows us to express ourselves.

Our voice that spreads love and passion.

Our face that exudes kindness and beauty because it's ours.

The face and eyes that has seen so much and experienced so much.

And the smile on our face that shows we are more than the shape of our body.

Spend some time now telling yourself you are loved,

You are worthy,

You are more than enough.

Thank you.
