This meditation is for the in-between days when you feel off center, just not quite yourself. A gentle place to pause. You don't need to fix anything here or arrive a certain way. Just ride the wave of how today feels, and let yourself be met.

Hello this is Dr.

Heidi Klein and I am bringing you a meditation for the days when you just don't quite feel like yourself.

It feels almost like to me like jetlag but if you didn't travel anywhere it's that feeling of not being quite yourself and just being in that space because it's a human experience and we all have that and this time of year in January we're feeling that possibly in these days so that's what this meditation is about.

So take a moment to arrive whatever position you're in.

There's no need to change anything.

You might be sitting or lying down.

You might already feel settled or not settled at all.

Today might not feel hard but it might not feel good.

It might just feel a little off.

Not quite yourself.

Not far away.

Just not fully here.

This is a place many days can live and there's nothing wrong with that.

Don't need to name how you feel.

Don't need to understand it.

Don't need to move it anywhere else.

Just let this be a place where nothing has to improve.

Bring your attention to the points where your body makes contact to what is supporting you.

Notice the weight of your body being held.

The pressure.

The steadiness underneath you.

No need to sink or relax on that purpose.

Just notice what's already happening.

And if your breath is easy to feel,

Let it come into awareness.

And if not,

That's fine too.

There's no correct way to breathe here.

Just be.

Notice the air moving in.

And notice the air moving out.

Allow the air.

And allow the air to move out.

If it feels natural,

Allow your body to make one small adjustment.

A shift.

A stretch.

A little change in position.

And once you've done that,

See if the body can settle again.

Nod into stillness.

Just into what is here now.

And the air moves out.

Perhaps this silent statement,

Simple,

This is how it feels to be me right now.

Just an offering that you can repeat in your mind.

This is how it feels to be me right now.

No judgment.

No comparison.

No expectation.

Just acknowledgement.

Here we are.

If there's a place in you that feels neutral,

Not good,

Not bad,

See if you can rest there for a moment.

Neutral is allowed.

Neutral is steady.

Neutral is honest.

Let yourself stay.

And notice the breath again as it is.

Not longer.

Not deeper.

Just happening.

No need to hold attention tightly.

Let it drift and return as needed.

The breath moves in.

And the breath moves out.

No correct way to breathe here.

Just notice.

And that's enough.

And know there's nothing you have to carry forward from this except what is already here.

Don't need to feel different than when you started.

Don't need clarity or resolution.

Just giving yourself this pause is exactly what is needed.

A moment of reorientation.

And that is enough.

Begin to notice the space around you again.

The room.

The light.

The day waiting beyond this pause.

And wiggle your toes.

And shrug and roll your shoulders.

And open and close the jaw.

And take your time returning if you'd like.

Bring yourself with you as you return.

Exactly.

Wonderful.

Human.

Just as you are right now.

Knowing that nothing more is required.

This pause was everything that was needed.

Okay.

Well,

There we are.

Be well.
