Take a soft breath in,
So soft as if the breath is moving through you while you're remaining still,
Quiet.
Continue with the soft breaths and allow the breaths bring you back to the depths of your body.
As you're allowing yourself to soften,
To receive your own breaths,
Can you allow your grip soften?
The physical grip and the unconscious grip.
As you're allowing the stillness to become more present in your body,
Can you allow your grip soften even more?
Especially towards the thoughts and the impulses that are coming up in this moment.
The impulses to do that thing,
The impulse that you should be doing this,
The impulse that you need this.
Watch as you're observing all these impulses and thoughts.
Can you allow your grip and your desire to interact with these thoughts soften?
And how long can you stay still without gripping,
Without responding,
Without reacting?
Can you allow yourself to retrieve all your power from the outer world,
From your thoughts,
From the impulses back to your body?
Allow your breath to become even softer,
Your forehead softening,
Your eyes softening,
Your cheekbones,
Your lips,
Your tongue and your mouth.
Your throat,
Your neck,
Your shoulders,
Your arms,
All of them softening.
Feeling a soft breath entering your chest,
Entering your lung.
Simultaneously allow a sense of softening arrive to your heart,
To your gut,
To your belly,
Down through your legs.
Take another soft breath in,
Unclench your jaw,
Soften your shoulders,
Relax your bum,
Uncurl your toes,
And soften your grip one more time.
As you're going about your day-to-day,
Can you anchor yourself in your stillness,
In your power of non-reactivity?
Can you master the presence of being the observer?
And where is it that you can let go of your grip just a little bit or a lot?
