In this meditation, we acknowledge that gratitude can feel out of reach when we're overwhelmed and exhausted by life. Instead of pushing through our difficult feelings to find gratitude or feel positive, we create a space for all of our emotions, allowing us to be, feel, and reflect. By embracing our true feelings without judgment, we pave the way for a deeper, more authentic sense of gratitude. This practice helps us reconnect with ourselves, fostering inner peace and resilience

There are days that gratitude feels so out of reach because we feel so overwhelmed and exhausted by life.

And oftentimes we want to bulldoze through all that we are feeling so we can get to the gratitude feeling that we know it feels best.

In today's practice,

What we do,

We create a space for all that we are feeling.

And at the end,

We find our way back to feeling gratitude.

Sit down comfortably or lie down on your back in a way that you feel fully supported,

In a space that feels safe.

Allow the ground beneath you fully hold you.

Allow yourself to sense the parts of your body that are touching the ground.

Let yourself fully anchor into that space and continue maintaining that sense of awareness of that point of contact.

Now focus on your breath,

Soft breath in,

Surrender to your exhale.

Breathe in,

In a way that there's no movement in the neck and shoulders.

Take away any effort from the breath.

Witness the ebbs and flows of the breath as you continue maintaining your anchor on the ground.

Feel an opening in your heart to receive yourself in this moment with all that you're experiencing.

Allow space for all the things that made you angry,

Disappointed,

Overwhelmed,

Anxious.

Without trying to fight them,

Allow them,

Allow the feeling to come up to the surface.

Feel how you feel in your body.

What's the sensation?

Maybe the tingling sensation in the throat.

Maybe a warmth in your eyes.

Maybe strong grip in your hands.

What are you feeling?

What is happening?

We are often good to hold space for other people navigating their difficult emotions,

But we don't create that space for ourselves.

Can you allow all that you feel be safe here right now?

And at any point,

If this feels too much,

Find that anchor on the ground again.

Allow yourself to become an observer.

Watch.

Now bring your attention to all the things that you feel like you have to.

Non-realistic expectations,

The fast pace of our lives.

Other people's expectation of you,

Your expectation of yourself.

Our minds love to create lists.

I want you to create a list of all the things that you feel like you have to.

You have to be,

You have to do.

You have to have.

Perfect.

Now create another list.

A list of all the things that you get to be,

To do,

To have.

A list of all the choices that you get to make.

What is it that you get to do?

Okay,

Now take a look at your life.

Where is it that you can invite more of the things that you get to do?

Can you infuse the things that you have to with the things that you get to?

Or is there any opportunity for you to replace what you have to with one of the things that you get to?

What are the small changes you can create so you can reconnect with what you get to?

The choices you get to make.

The opportunities that you get to take advantage of.

That's it.

Now put your hands on your heart.

Take another breath.

Now the breath moves through you effortlessly as you exhale and as you inhale.

Connect to the part of you that knows the miracles that's happening already in your life.

I felt like what I have to do and what I get to do are often the same things, it’s just a matter of perspective. This was a really good balance of dealing with the tough stuff in your life and enjoying the good stuff, great meditation thank you 🙏🏻🩵
