Hi,
This is Julia.
This is a meditation for those moments when you might be a little short on time.
We don't always need to have a whole 30 minutes or hour carved out to take care of ourselves and to create a shift.
Sometimes we just need a few moments.
So when you're ready,
Sit up nice and tall.
Do your best to find a posture that's upright and elevated,
But not rigid or stiff.
Allow your whole body to soften.
And if you feel comfortable to,
Go ahead and close your eyes.
When you're ready,
Take a deep breath in and as you do,
Lift your shoulders up to your ears,
Filling up your lungs,
Letting go with a big sigh out through your mouth as you gently relax your shoulders.
Do one more like that,
Taking a deep breath in,
Filling up and lifting the shoulders to the ears,
Letting out a great big sigh,
Relaxing your shoulders down.
Notice the softening that happens throughout the rest of your body.
Hands and fingers,
Feet and toes relaxed,
Your entire body settling in.
Notice briefly the pace of your natural breath as it happens.
And let's take one more deep breath in,
Filling up lungs and lifting the shoulders up to the ears,
Maybe pausing,
Holding that breath in just for a brief moment and letting it go with a great big sigh.
Slowly start to blink your eyes open and maybe even take another great big inhale,
But this time stretch your arms up over your head and just reach them there as if you just woke up from a deep sleep.
Gently sighing your arms down,
Feeling a sense of being ready for whatever the rest of the day has to offer you.
Remember that you can always come back right here to your breath.
I hope you have a wonderful day.
