Welcome to Day 8 of Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

Setting an intention is making a decision about who you want to be and how you choose to show up.

Over time,

Those choices become change.

Let's begin.

Hello and welcome to Insight Timer's Intention Setting Challenge.

My name is Kirsty Lyon and today we're focusing on simplicity.

Letting life's noise melt away and allowing space for ease to unfold.

When life gets too loud and complicated,

The inner voice of clarity that knows what we need becomes harder to hear and the pressure to keep doing more carries us further away from ourselves.

But simplicity is what brings us back.

It invites ease,

Something we've often been taught to feel guilty for following.

Which is why,

For this practice,

Our intention is,

Today I'll choose the simple way,

Without guilt.

So let's begin.

As you arrive into the practice,

Make sure that you're comfortable.

And when you're ready,

Closing down the eyes and settling in for the next few minutes.

Let the weight of your body land into the support beneath you.

Be held here.

Notice the chatter of the mind,

Planning,

Rehearsing,

Remembering.

Be a witness.

Observing the sensations of the body.

Be curious.

Nothing needs to change.

Allow it all to be exactly as it is.

Let's connect with the energy and intention of simplicity through one thing,

The breath.

So let your awareness land on your natural breath.

Notice the body breathing itself,

Curiously watching the rise and fall.

Where can you feel your breath most?

Perhaps in the nostrils,

Back of the throat,

In the chest or the belly.

Just noticing.

Now let your next inhale be a touch fuller than your natural breath.

Exhaling with a more intentional release.

Inviting a little more air in and out of the body.

Take a couple of deeper,

More intentional breaths at your own pace.

Each inhale,

Creating more space around sensations and thoughts.

Each exhale,

Softening the noise,

Letting go.

Let your breath return to a more natural rhythm.

Now,

Can you notice the subtle pause between your exhale and inhale?

Awareness of that gentle,

Brief pause between breaths,

Where stillness resides.

Beneath the noise and layers,

Return to the simple rhythm of the breath.

Nothing to do,

Nothing to figure out.

Just this breath,

This moment where clarity and ease can find you.

And in this stillness,

Gently asking that inner knowing,

How can I keep things simple for myself today?

Allow whatever arises to do so naturally and gift yourself permission to trust and follow it.

Let the answer find you.

How can I keep things simple for myself today?

If you need more time to be in this space,

You are welcome to pause the recording here.

Otherwise,

Slowly let your awareness return to the room and space around you.

As you move through the rest of your day,

Carry the intention of simplicity with you and let it be your compass.

Noticing where you can soften,

Release expectations,

Rest or just move at your own pace.

And remember,

Today I choose the simple way,

Without guilt.

You're welcome to set this intention or perhaps your own version of it on your insight timer home screen.

A gentle reminder of the simplicity and ease you cultivated here today.

Thank you so much for joining me and I wish you all the best with the rest of the challenge.

Simplicity means to me: releasing with love, trusting the process, reminding myself that life is constantly changing, and living in gratitude for the present moment and my breath. No matter what's going on around me that I stress about, these are my simple reminders when life feels too much
