Welcome to this energizing breathwork practice.
This practice is best used first thing in the morning to start your day or perhaps anytime you're needing a little bit of an energetic pick me up.
We will be using a combination of breath patterns to revitalize and re-energize the body and mind.
Starting with breath of fire,
This breath is done entirely through the nose.
The exhale is powerful,
Full of intention and as we breathe out we contract our lower abdominal muscles.
Almost as if you were sneezing.
The inhale should be passive and happen naturally.
It should sound like this.
If you find this breath pattern a little bit challenging don't worry,
Just do your best and know that with practice it will become easier.
We will do breath of fire for 40 seconds followed by 5 deep cleansing belly breaths in through the nose,
Out through the mouth and on the last inhale holding our breath at the top.
We will repeat this cycle 3 times.
Find a comfortable place to sit down where you won't be disturbed,
Making sure that your spine is straight and having your back supported if that feels more comfortable.
Closing down the eyes now or softening the gaze.
Before we begin,
Bringing your awareness to your solar plexus,
This is the energy centre located in your upper abdomen just below the breastbone.
This energy centre represents our physical and emotional power.
Visualizing a yellow ball of light in this area and setting our intention for this practice to supercharge this energy centre,
Helping us feel powerful and energized.
When you're ready we'll begin by taking one deep breath in through the nose and release and beginning now with breath of fire.

Moving into our 5 breaths,
Deep breath in.
Last breath fully in and hold at the top.
Relaxing the shoulders.
Knowing that you are safe to hold your breath,
The body can always hold it longer than the mind thinks it can.
And when you're ready,
Letting go of the breath.
Great job.
Moving in now to our second round.
Start by taking a deep breath in and let go.
And when you're ready,
Starting the breath of fire with me.

Moving into our 5 deep breaths.
Last one fully in.
Hold at the top.
Feeling into any sensations that might be going on in the body,
The rush of energy moving around.
Relaxing into this pause.
Relaxing into this moment of stillness.
And releasing the breath.
Moving into our third and final round.
Bring that awareness once more to your solar plexus area and really using your breath to supercharge this yellow light,
This fire within.
Take a deep breath in and release.

Feeling that life force energy buzzing around your body,
That fuel,
That fire.
Dropping the shoulders.
Feeling that inner sense of power.
And releasing the breath.

And taking a moment now to notice what has shifted after those 3 rounds of breath.
Feeling the energy move throughout your body.
And bringing some movement back into your body.
Having a stretch.
Wriggling your toes or your fingers.
Bringing in some gentle movement.
And opening the eyes.
