Hey,

Welcome to Healing Arts Collective.

I'm Shelley,

A therapeutic arts healer and empowerment coach.

Welcome friends.

Today we're going to explore a powerful concept that could change the way you interact with anxiety.

We are going to play with our anxiety.

That's right.

I said it.

Play with our anxiety.

We're going to acknowledge it,

Give it a place to live and be seen,

And more importantly,

Prevent it from wreaking havoc on our mind and body.

We're going to learn how to transform this anxious energy into something beautiful and freeing.

So let's dive in.

First off,

Let's talk about the incredible connection between our bodies and minds.

Our emotions are not just thoughts in our heads.

They're felt in our bodies too.

Anxiety often makes us feel like we're holding onto restless energy.

It could run rampant through our whole being,

And for everyone,

It shows up differently.

For some,

It might show up like restless legs,

Heart palpitations,

A foggy mind or scattered thoughts,

Sweaty palms,

Or knots and pains in your stomach.

We've all felt this type of anxiety at some point in our life.

You are definitely not alone here.

But imagine this.

Imagine you could take that energy and transform it into something positive.

That's where the magic of creativity comes in.

Whether it's moving your body,

Creating art,

Writing,

Or playing music,

These activities provide an outlet for your anxiety.

Embody the magician archetype.

Take control of your emotions and give them a new form.

Think of it as turning anxious energy into a beautiful song,

A captivating painting,

Or even a heartfelt poem.

Or maybe it's as simple as creating circles and scribbles of free expression in your notebook.

The key here is creating space for your anxiety.

Imagine your mind as a canvas and your body as the instrument through which you express yourself.

When you acknowledge your anxiety and allow it to exist without judgment,

You're giving it a place to be seen.

But here's a twist.

You're also making room for transformation.

You're allowing yourself to shift from feeling trapped by your anxiety to becoming a vessel of creativity and a powerful creator.

Now let's talk about the practical steps.

I invite you to make a commitment to yourself.

Set an alarm for the next three days,

Half an hour before bedtime.

Make this routine non-negotiable.

This is your time to release that pent-up energy,

And 10 minutes is all you need.

Choose your preferred way to release anxiety,

Whether it's dancing like nobody's watching,

Writing whatever comes to mind,

Or strumming a tune on your guitar.

The goal isn't perfection,

It's expression.

Let the words flow,

Let the brushstrokes dance,

And let your body move freely.

And as we close in on this pep talk,

Let's talk about the incredible byproduct of this new routine.

By releasing this energy before bed,

You're giving your brain and body a better chance to restore themselves while you sleep.

Instead of tossing and turning with anxiety,

You'll be clearing the path for a peaceful slumber.

So my friends,

It's time to become the magician of your own emotions.

Embrace the power of creativity,

Of moving your body,

Of putting pen to paper,

Of making music.

You have the ability to transform anxious energy into something incredible,

A piece of art,

A melody,

A dance that speaks volumes.

Thank you for joining me today.

Remember you have the tools within you to not only acknowledge your anxiety,

But to mold it into something beautiful.

Let's release,

Create,

And restore one step at a time.

You got this.

I love your pep talks! I agree that everything that we feel is within our mind and our body. I like the encouragement of releasing our anxiety through writing, dancing, or journaling, anything creative that is positive! I already incorporate journaling every night for 10 minutes, but now I can see this as a pleasurable and beneficial activity for releasing my anxiety. Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are the best!
