Inner Listening - It Feels Good
When you are stressed, overwhelmed or tired, do you listen to your body and your heart and ask them what they need? Or do you push on through? Perhaps you push through feelings of physical tension, feeling emotionally drained or mentally tired? During this practice, gently led by Fleur, you will be given the opportunity to ask your body and your heart what they need. You may be surprised what they tell you. Are you ready to listen?

A warm welcome to you.
If you are like most of us living in today's information age,
You are probably receiving messages all day from your external environment.
Read this.
You must have that.
Strive for this.
You'll be happy when.
Perhaps these messages come from social media,
Politicians,
Work colleagues,
Family or friends.
Whilst information isn't a bad thing and much of this information may be well intentioned,
Over time this constant flow of external stimuli can wear us down,
Leading to stress and tension in our bodies,
An overactive mind and a heavy heart.
When our daily actions are guided by external expectations and pressures,
We can lose sight of what we ourselves really need and want.
We may find ourselves pushing on through physical pain,
Working through exhaustion and prioritising social media over real connections with family and friends.
And so in today's meditation we are going to balance the scales by quietening the external noise and looking within.
Firstly,
We shall take time to simply connect with our body and our heart,
Just as it is today.
From here we shall ask these wisdom centres what they need right now.
Together let's allow our bodies and our hearts to be our anchor,
Our guide.
Let's listen to their deep intelligence and commit to acting from this place in the days ahead.
So let's begin as always by settling into a comfortable position,
Closing down your eyes if you like and allowing your awareness to gently turn inwards to the natural flow of your breath.
So no need to change your breath in any way,
It's perfect just as it is.
Air flowing in,
Air flowing out,
Chest rising,
Chest falling.
If thoughts come that's okay,
It's all part of meditation.
When you are able,
Bringing your awareness back to your breath.
The simple flow of air.
So noticing any sense of inner arriving,
Perhaps a quietening of the inner chatter,
Maybe a feeling of peace or of coming home.
So resting here,
Here,
Softening into this idea of coming home.
So what does coming home feel like to you?
And scanning your body now for any places of tightness or tension,
Noticing any places that are holding on,
No matter how subtle.
And offering these places a few soothing breaths.
Feeling grateful for our own ability to soothe our tired bodies.
And now let's breathe in a way that encourages us to really arrive into our bodies.
I will guide you,
Don't worry too much about getting it right.
Let's begin by simply exhaling,
Letting it all out.
And now taking a nice deep breath in and really allowing your chest to expand.
Then your ribs,
Then your belly,
Holding for a moment full.
Then releasing from your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest,
And holding empty here.
Again inhaling,
Really expanding your chest,
Your ribs,
Your belly,
Your belly,
Holding for a moment full,
Then releasing from your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest,
And holding empty.
And again breathing into your chest,
Your ribs,
Your belly,
Holding here,
And exhaling from your belly,
Your ribs,
Your chest,
Pausing empty.
See if you are able to continue this for three more breaths.
And when it feels right for you,
Returning your breath to its natural flow.
Settling back into your breath's natural rhythm,
What do you notice?
Does your breath feel different?
Noticing how your body feels after we have woken up,
With this cycle of breath.
Scanning your body for any sensations.
Tingling,
Pulsating,
Aches,
Pains,
Tension.
Warmth,
Coolness,
No right or wrong,
Simply remaining open and curious.
Feeling how alive your body feels when we attend to it with mindful presence.
And as you continue to breathe,
Can you imagine that each breath is travelling all the way into your body,
Moving from your chest to your belly,
Down into your hips and pelvis,
Moving down your legs to your feet,
Down your arms to your hands.
This body full of breath,
Full of life.
Drawing your awareness now to your fingers and toes.
What do you notice?
Sensations coming and going.
And now from this place of awareness and connection,
Can you ask your body,
What do you need?
Perhaps repeating this question silently in your mind.
Perhaps breathing this question deep into your chest.
Your body may speak to you in sensations,
Feelings or thoughts.
Simply remaining open and curious.
Does your body need more rest or more exercise?
Does your body need more love and attention?
More nutrients or even stillness?
Sitting here in the wisdom of your body.
And drawing your awareness now to your heart.
And if you are able,
Can you direct your breath into your heart or into the space in the middle of your chest?
With each in-breath you are waking your heart.
No right or wrong here.
Just continuing to direct each breath into the space near your heart.
Noticing any emotions,
Thoughts or sensations that may arise as you begin to connect with your heart.
No need to strive.
Whatever your experience is,
Is perfect.
This heart that loves,
This heart that breaks and heals.
This heart that can feel light,
Open and abundant.
This heart that can feel shy,
Burdened or closed.
Looking into whatever emerges for you.
And now,
Can you ask your heart,
What do you need?
Perhaps repeating this question silently in your mind.
Perhaps breathing this question deep into your heart.
Breathing into this experience.
Allowing whatever emerges just to be as it is.
Existing here in the wisdom of your body and your heart.
How did it feel to connect with these parts of yourself?
What did you notice?
From within this experience,
You may wish to set yourself an intention that brings to life the messages from your body and your heart.
Taking a nice deep breath into this intention.
When you are ready,
Beginning to offer your body any gentle movements it desires.
Bringing your awareness back into the space you are in.
May you move through your days with a greater awareness of what your body and your heart need and the courage to bring these to life.

So much around me at the moment is telling me to tune into my intuition. I really valued this meditation and learning to ask my body and my heart what it needs. I'm not sure I could hear the responses clearly but I see this as a skill I can grow and develop. Thank you for this meditation ✨

Not sure I'm out of my meditation yet but what I experienced is beyond every day experience. I went into the soothing place where my breathing slowed down to slow motion. My heart took me deeper to show whats beneath my dreams .. where I need to be. I became light and rooted. I'm still in a blissful state, feeling happy strong, steady and Grateful. THANK YOU 💕 SO MUCH
