Hello and welcome.
It's right before Halloween.
A couple weeks from now will be the spooky season.
And in lieu of the spooky season,
I'm going to tell you a little story.
I was once asked by a friend recently what was the first time I ever got spooked by a ghost.
I've had several spookings happen since then,
But the very first time it happened,
I was stationed in England.
I was in the Air Force.
And I was at a base called Mildenhall,
England,
Which is kind of on the west coast of England,
Probably about 35 miles north of Cambridge and about 30 miles south of Norfolk.
But anyway,
I met this young girl as soon as I arrived on the base,
A young English girl.
And it was more of a platonic thing.
We weren't that interested in being boyfriend and girlfriend,
Even though I thought she was very attractive.
I just could tell that she didn't dig me or whatever.
But we did want to be friends.
So she asked me to come up to Norfolk and go sightseeing with her.
And she was going to show me her town.
And first chance I got,
I went up to Norfolk.
And we had a real good weekend together.
So we went out for dinner.
We went shopping.
We did all kinds of stuff.
And then she took me more towards the evening to a castle.
This huge castle is on this hill in Norfolk.
And it's super old,
Like 1500 years old.
And it turned into a museum.
And in this museum,
They had a mummy.
I remember a mummified cat.
They had this mummy that they showed behind glass,
Of course,
But in an enclosed vacuum seal-like area so that they wouldn't decompose.
But they had the mummy exposed.
And some of the guards were telling stories that that mummy is haunting the castle.
Several things have happened,
Like mop buckets would move all of a sudden by themselves.
And janitors would get scared to work there at night.
But anyway,
I heard these stories.
And,
You know,
I was like 18,
19 years old when this happened.
But I was pretty dumb and pretty stupid and pretty silly.
But I kind of laughed at the whole thing thinking,
Yeah,
Yeah,
Whatever.
And I went up to the mummy and I'm like,
Okay,
Whatever.
I don't believe in you or,
You know,
That you really exist and you're scaring people now.
But anyway,
Just being stupid and silly.
I spent the rest of the weekend uneventfully with this young lady and went home back to the base.
And one of my jobs in the Air Force was to open the gymnasium.
I think it opened at six,
But I would arrive at like five in the morning.
And we had locks on all the doors like padlocks and chains locking up all the doors.
And when the time gets close to six o'clock,
Like 545,
I don't unlock the doors.
I just go around and take the chains off and get the gym ready to open up.
And anyway,
So I'm walking through the gym and I walk into the weight room.
And I walk across the mat,
Past all the weights.
And I open this door that's in like a cubby hole at the back of the weightlifting room.
And as I turn around and I'm walking away from the weights back towards the basketball courts.
And then what happened was these weights somehow flew past my ears.
I mean,
They didn't hit my head,
But it came close.
And these weights flew past me and landed on the floor in front of me.
And it scared the living daylights out of me.
I was just like,
Holy crap,
What the hell was that?
I was so scared that I had to wait till the first person to come to the gym would come and walk back there with me.
As I described to the person what happened,
They couldn't believe it either.
But anyway,
So I went back and looked at the weights and these weights came off of their racks and flew past me.
That's not what weights do.
Weights don't fly past people.
They do.
They're heavy and they go clunk right to the ground and they stop right there.
But I don't know,
I can't explain it,
But that's kind of what happened to me.
And that was one of the very first experiences I've had with the supernatural.
So the reason I'm telling you this story is that they say that when you're awakened,
When you become awakened,
When you become enlightened,
When you become a Buddha,
Whatever the terminology you want to use,
You're given gifts.
And there's a lot of young people in what they call the woke generation now that are kind of in a sense waking up.
I don't know what level they're waking up at,
Whether their wake up is just an aha moment or if something in their lives that shook them into being a woke.
Who knows what happens.
And I'm not here to judge any of those people or any of you that might be listening to this.
If you feel like you're woke,
That's your business.
It's not mine.
But like I said,
Each person who's woke is eventually given a gift or have several gifts.
My gifts,
I guess that were given me was maybe to some people it might be a gift,
But spirits of people who recently died that I know come visit me.
And if you loved something that I love,
If you're into skydiving and you passed away,
Then usually I got a visitation from you as you left.
And within the next day or two,
I would get a visitation.
A lot of times I wouldn't even know the person died and I would still get a visitation.
But that was one of the gifts I got was somehow I guess when you raise your energies up high enough into the top three chakras that I mean that's the realms that the spirits that pass away from this life dwell in is in the ninth,
Tenth and eleventh dimensions.
Mostly the ninth,
But some ten and very few of the eleven.
And I can explain that why later.
But these gifts,
I have a story to tell.
And then I guess before I tell the story,
Another gift I was given is somehow I know it's got a lot to do with nowadays with surf forecasting sites and just knowing when to go surfing.
As an experienced surfer,
You learn tides,
You learn swell heights and how to read the charts and everything.
So,
But back in the day when I was much younger,
We didn't have any of those things.
And sometimes I would just drive to the beach and just have this positive thought that there'd be waves.
And most of the time I was right.
I've even had waves appear when there were no other waves around at all.
Like when it was flat as a lake.
I've had waves appear and I'd surf for like an hour and then I get out of the water and the waves disappeared again.
Just all these kinds of things.
All my friends started calling me the wave whisperer.
So if you look me up on Twitch or on YouTube,
Under the wave whisperer,
You might find or under my name Doug Grumman on YouTube,
You might find some videos describing all the experiences I had and how I got the name the wave whisperer.
But anyway,
These gifts were given.
I want to try to explain that they could be like the last temptations to pull you away from reuniting with God.
And let me tell this story.
Once I tell this story to you,
You'll understand a little bit better that gifts is as beautiful as they are,
You know,
Can be a hindrance and they can hinder your path or hinder your growth.
So I'll explain it.
So listen to the story.
Okay.
The story starts out with a woodsman who every day would go from his hut beside the forest and travel into the forest and cut wood and then take it back to the marketplace and sell it for pennies and very little money.
And this mystic who lived near the forest,
He felt sorry for this woodcutter because he'd been watching him for years.
And this woodsman would just pass by him all the time and sell him his wood.
And the mystic like had this epiphany to approach him and say,
Hey,
I noticed you cutting wood every day and I know that you're happy as you are,
But there's a copper mine just a little bit deeper into the woods past where you normally go.
And if he goes to that copper mine and mine the copper,
Then you'll make a lot more money than you would if you just cut wood.
So the woodsman was intrigued and a little scared to go deeper in the woods,
But he ventured into the woods.
He found the copper mine and he started mining the copper and sure enough,
He made a lot more money mining copper than he was selling the wood.
This made him happy,
But the mystic was kind of a strange person.
He came back to the woodsman and said,
Hey,
I see you're mining copper now and I know that makes you happy.
You're making more money and everything,
But if you go a little bit deeper into the woods,
There's a silver mine and this silver mine,
If you mine it,
Then you'll make a lot more than you would with the copper.
And the woodsman was intrigued and he's like,
Well,
Okay,
I'll have a look.
So he did.
He went into the woods again and went a little bit deeper than the copper mine.
He found the silver mine and he started mining the silver.
And this made him very happy,
But it also started making him a little greedy.
Like he got the taste of money and the taste of wealth because silver pays pretty well.
And he mined the silver and kind of grew financially.
He was in a way,
Materialistically wise,
He was happy,
But he was getting greedy and greedier.
And anyway,
The mystic saw this and he went to him and said,
Well,
You know,
If you want more money than this,
There's a gold mine just a little bit deeper into the woods.
And if you go there,
Then you get really rich.
So our woodsman found the gold mine,
Of course,
And he started mining the gold.
And this time it allowed him to have palaces and he was quite wealthy.
And the gold mine made him a very happy person materialistically wise.
But the mystic saw him.
And this is a tricky mystic because he knew exactly what to say to him.
And he walked up to him and said,
Okay,
Hey,
I see you have your palaces and you have lots of money and some horses and big fields and everything and lots of land.
But if you go a little bit deeper into the woods,
Then there's this diamond mine.
And if you mine the diamonds,
Then you'll be the wealthiest person in the land.
So the woodsman was not only intrigued,
He's like,
Okay.
He was very greedy and wealth kind of consumed his soul.
So he went deeper into the woods and he found the diamond mine.
And he mined the diamonds out of the mine and now he's an extremely wealthy person.
But the mystic said to him,
Look,
He came up to him after he mined all the diamonds and he said,
Look,
Hey,
I know you're extremely wealthy and mirrored materialistically,
You're very happy.
But I can see that deep inside of you,
All this wealth is not ease the pain of this emptiness inside of you,
This nothingness inside of you,
You don't have any spiritual wealth.
And the mystic said,
If you follow me and do as I say,
Then I will give you this spiritual wealth.
I'll teach you meditation.
I'll teach you awareness and I'll teach you compassion and beauty and love and all these things that will make you spiritually happy and really fulfilled.
But you have to drop all these things,
All the diamonds and you have to give up the gold and all the other things that you had.
You have to give those things up for the spiritual things.
At least in the beginning you do.
So the the wasman was kind of greedy and he's like,
Well,
I don't have time and I'm not really interested in that.
I'm happy as I am materialistically and I don't think I need any spiritual wealth.
And he ignored the mystic and did not follow him.
But the mystic came back another day and said,
Look,
I'm not going to be here forever.
Meditation,
The window of learning these things through me is very small.
The time is little we've wasted all our lives collecting all these materialistic things.
And now,
If you don't learn from me,
Then I don't know when another master will come along if another master ever will come along.
It's rare that a master who is really enlightened comes along and teaches us the ways of meditation and the ways of spirituality and compassion and beauty and all the other beautiful things that come along with that.
I read this story probably 10 years ago,
At least 10 years ago.
And I reread it recently in a book called The True Name by Osho.
And it's about a mystic called Nanak.
And anyway,
Nanak kind of hints at this too that,
You know,
He's not gonna be around forever.
The mystic is the mystic and meditation,
The window is very small.
I mean,
You're not interested in it when you grow up when you're growing up,
Because you're interested in all these materialistic things like getting a job and getting a beautiful wife and getting a beautiful house and,
You know,
Just worrying about all those kinds of things.
So you're not worried about it when you're young.
And then in your middle ages,
You're you're concerned with retirement and have enough money when you're when you when you're older,
You'll be able to retire or whatever.
So you missed out then.
But I guess a lot of people spend their whole lives missing.
If you miss out when you're young,
Then you miss.
If you miss out when you're in middle age,
Then you miss even more because you can't recover what you what you would have had if you started when you were younger.
Meaning the window is very small.
And if you keep missing and missing and missing,
And then the definition of sin is actually called missing,
Like missing the target,
Literally,
Like an arrow that left the bow and missed the target completely.
So all these gifts were given,
These spiritual gifts were given to are just like the gold and the diamonds.
They are there to enrich our lives.
But at some point,
You can't stop until you reach God.
So if you think you're awake,
If you think you're you're you've been awakened and you become a Buddha,
Or I don't know if you've made think that you've become a Buddha yet,
But you think you're awake.
And you have these gifts and everything.
Don't stop there.
The journey goes deeper,
You have to go deeper into the forest.
So deep that you pass and you leave behind all the diamonds,
All the gold,
All the beautiful things that you thought were beautiful and before.
Because this stop here on earth is basically it's a resting place.
It's not it's not meant to have been to have been made to be permanent because nobody's here forever.
You're born one day and then just a few days later you you pass away.
It almost seems like it life can be that short at times.
So this is just a resting place,
A place for you to enjoy and take advantage of.
But also,
What you take with you in your next life is all your good actions.
Everything you did good in this world you take with you,
Or everything you take everything you did bad in this world you take that with you too.
Your actions follow you.
If you were angry at somebody one day and then you didn't do anything about it and then you're you woke up angry the next day because you had anger from the other day and you never resolved it.
This will compound on you until three or four days later you won't even know why but somebody will say something and you'll blow up and yell at them for no reason.
Because this anger that you subdued and pushed inside of you resurfaced at a later date.
So that's what I mean by actions follow you.
I mean it's beautiful to think that the Christians say that you can be redeemed from your actions.
But there's no morality in that in the sense that it has to be the balance has to be paid.
I mean that like the karmic level of existence means that these actions will follow you and until the balance is paid until you learn your lesson and go past good deeds or bad deeds because you don't want what you might think is a good deed right now could turn out to be a bad deed who knows.
I mean making this recording I don't know if it's going to be a good thing or a bad thing.
I hope that you gain from this the wisdom to know that all these gifts all these special things that are happening to you right now you have to in a sense don't let them get to enhancing your ego because if it gets to your ego then it destroys whatever light that you had whatever gifts you had they get destroyed by the ego and the union with God the the ultimate reuniting with God that's the goal that's the end that's that that is the the last place you can go the deeper than than all the the gold silver and diamond mines meditation takes you can take you beyond all these things and into a beautiful spiritual life and then eventually when you grow enough spiritually you'll see that you're taken care of by existence you don't have to worry about these things anymore that no matter what happens to you you're going to be okay you are now cradled by existence when you get to these levels of awareness and and meditation so I guess that's been a good talk for today enjoy Halloween everybody if hopefully you're listening to this before Halloween if not we'll have to play it again next year before Halloween comes again but anyway thanks for listening and I hope I'm helping the woke generation realize the depth of what they're getting into and not to be scared of that but to embrace it and just keep going deeper just keep going deeper and deeper and deeper until you get to the very core and when you get to that core then you just have to be receptive and let go and dissolve into it that's about like I said that really there's no set footprints and how I got there what happened to me I can't expect anyone to follow those footsteps that I went through because I mean it's just so mystical and so crazy what happened to me but everybody's path is different and there is no major highway to God with thousands of footpaths going up to God in reality only a few people in history have made it and realized God while they were still living in this planet and shared that existence with other people like Buddha shared his experience with other people and because of that many thousands of people in his time became enlightened and since then a couple of people have come along and especially in the east with the traditions of Zen and Tantra and Sufism and all kinds of mind expanding or consciousness expanding religions but not one of not one mystic has been able to say hey do this exactly and it'll happen it's kind of like they leave no footprints because you can't it's like a bird in the sky when a bird flies to the sky he leaves no footprints for you to follow but that doesn't mean you can't follow it doesn't mean you can't try trying is what gets you there until the point when you can't try anymore and then you're close then you know that it's about time and just relax into it and be receptive and see what happens but anyway mahalos to all you beautiful surfers out there and aloha and blue skies to all you skydivers and namaste to all you beautiful spiritual people out there take care of yourselves and much love bye bye
