This is the most difficult thing to discuss, the existence of God. Not one mystic tries to either prove or disprove this theory. Instead, we try to entice you to raise your awareness and expand your consciousness. No need to try and prove a theory without first creating a space.

The The The The So how do you solve the world's greatest question?

Some might argue that that question would be,

Is there the existence of God?

Does God really exist?

There seems to be only two sides to the argument.

And the theist and the atheist are really basically two sides of the same coin.

One might be the positive while the other might be the negative.

But there's still two dielectrics,

Two opposing theories.

And both of these theories have very solid arguments to why they think God exists or why God doesn't exist.

So this should be an interesting talk.

My name is Douglas Gromins.

Thanks for joining me again.

And let's get into this subject a little bit.

Because not one mystic has ever tried to prove the existence of God.

If any mystic did try to prove the existence of God,

It becomes extremely difficult.

Because it can be experienced subjectively,

But objectively it's almost impossible to prove the existence of God.

So that's why Buddha said that God does not exist.

Osho has said there is no God.

But he also said that he found something else.

Something different.

Something to think about.

Something for us to ponder and take into consideration.

And Osho's theories coincided with Spinoza's theories.

And Spinoza was,

If you don't know about him,

He was a free thinker back in the 1600s who basically theorized that maybe God,

When he made creation,

Dove into his creation and became his creation.

So basically saying everything is God.

Everything is a little piece of God.

I mean there's God existing as a fish or there's God existing as a dog.

You know,

Wagging his tail and just being a dog.

But that's just God expressing himself in a different form.

So Spinoza entitled his religion Pantheism.

Pan meaning everything and theism meaning a theory of or the theology of God being basically into a piece of everything.

So everything is God.

But that also leaves the space that there is no being over watching everything.

Or observing everything and controlling everything.

So what I'd like to propose tonight is to explore the theory that there is this essence of God connected to all of us.

And I'll explain how it's connected.

Basically we have the subconscious,

Your unconscious.

And the unconscious is also split into two groups.

Because there's unconscious thinking where you're just going about your daily life in robot form.

Just working your way through of not having to exert your mind or exert yourself into a state of awareness.

So there's unconscious thinking and there's also just being unconscious like being asleep.

But anyway,

So there's subconscious which is below that.

And we go through a lot of our lives pushing things into subconscious and we don't even know it.

Things can get pushed down,

Feelings can get pushed down and pushed back.

And then the psychiatrist deals with the subconscious and the unconscious sections of our mind.

And trying to bring you back to health or at least to a period of normalcy between the conscious and the unconscious.

I mean Freud,

Alder and Jung all believe that they can deal and help you solve issues in your life.

And deal with these issues through approaching your dreams.

But in the East mystics and yogis have approached it very differently.

They deal with raising your consciousness levels.

And raising your consciousness levels to a higher state and in a higher state than another or to the highest state that there is.

So above the conscious mind when you've meditated for a while and you've raised a lot of energy.

Then you enter the super conscious mind.

Psychiatrists don't know much about the super conscious mind.

They may believe it's mumbo jumbo or whatever.

In the East it's been studied and developed over thousands of years.

And much longer than the West has been studying the subconscious and the unconscious minds.

So the science is there.

It's just we've not heard of it.

I don't think Freud studied Eastern theology or Eastern ways of approaching things.

The super conscious mind is above the conscious mind.

And touching into the super conscious mind,

I think it happens a lot when we raise our energy up into the heart.

Up into the fourth chakra.

The energy centers that aren't even approached or even thought of going up into the West.

So the East has developed the science.

Yoga teaches you the science.

Zen teaches the science.

Tantra teaches the science.

Zen.

There are so many approaches to raising energy and raising awareness and raising consciousness up into the super conscious level.

But when about 51% of your energy is raised up into the heart chakra,

Then you experience super consciousness for the first time.

But it has to be a shift of energy that goes up.

And whenever you meditate,

Basically you are raising energy upwards.

There are two laws.

There's two laws.

There's the law of gravity and the law of levitation.

Gravity pulls you down and it's always pulling,

Pulling,

Pulling.

But Freud and Alder and Jung didn't know about the law of levitation.

I think Jung was probably the closest mind to thinking about the law of levitation.

Because he studied and he started to understand how silence can help a person to be healed and to grow.

And that is one of the key elements of meditation,

That you silence the mind.

See,

Mind itself is always on a constant tension.

So it's like a tight string pulled between two points.

And it's always got tension on it.

And if you take a little tension off the string,

Or off the mind you could say,

Then it's very relaxing for the body,

For the soul to take a break.

We do these breaks all the time when we run or play sports or study martial arts or anything that helps you to go beyond the mind and be able to function without using the mind.

In the East,

In the schools of Zen,

They have taught Zazen,

Which is sitting meditation.

And what is sitting meditation?

It's not even,

Zazen is not even meditation,

Basically.

It's just sitting.

Doing nothing.

Absolutely nothing.

Not even meditating,

Just doing nothing.

And in this nothingness,

In this space,

If you can do it,

If you can just sit there and enjoy Zazen,

Then it's a very relaxing thing.

Chemicals can also induce a relaxation of the mind.

It takes the tension off of the mind.

Alcohol does this.

Other drugs do this too.

And psychiatrists have started diving into that and I think they've come out with things like Prozac and other mind-altering drugs that kind of take the ease and the tension off of the mind.

But the safest way to do it is to sit in Zazen or to go into meditation and still the mind and have the mind come completely still.

And when you do this for a longer period of time and you get these moments that keep getting bigger and bigger and expanding wider and longer,

Levitation happens,

Energy goes up,

And like I said,

51% into the heart and you can start to experience what they call super-consciousness.

And what is super-consciousness?

Super-consciousness is the realm of enlightenment.

Super-consciousness is the union with the divine,

Realizing the divine is in everything.

That the divine is a blade of grass.

It is the sky.

It is the ocean.

It's the land.

It's the mountains.

It's the trees.

It's the birds.

It's all the animals.

And it's you and me.

But you won't experience this until I said that 51% of you gets up at least to the heart level.

But the heart is only halfway.

So there's three chakras below the heart and then there's three chakras above the heart.

The three chakras below the heart coincide with the physical body,

The emotional body,

The intellectual body,

And then the four chakras,

The heart,

Which is the spiritual body.

And at that point in your life,

If you've experienced this,

Then you know subjective that God exists.

I mean,

It's been proven to you because you've experienced it.

You've gone through it.

But you can't prove it objectively.

You cannot show somebody else when it's been shown to you.

So every single mystic has experienced this enlightenment,

This union with God,

This union with the divine,

And then in this realization that it is everything,

That God is—He did dive into His creation.

God is this creation.

But the problem remains is that it can't be proven to anybody else.

It's something that is just for you.

It's just this special moment,

This peak experience.

And one would think that superconsciousness would be the highest level.

And when it happens to you,

You kind of think it is the highest level,

That you've reached the Everest,

You've reached the highest peak.

But actually there's a couple more levels.

It goes even deeper.

So on this experience of superconsciousness,

Like I said,

It can't be proven to anybody else.

Not by any theory.

It's just something you have to experience yourself.

It's something that you have to rise to and experience yourself.

And that's the only way it can be expressed.

Which reminds me of this argument.

A couple of Buddha's followers had this argument about a blind man that's running around through the whole city saying there's no such thing as light.

There's no such thing as light.

Light does not exist.

And you can't prove it to me that light exists.

And they brought this man to Buddha.

And Buddha listened to the man talk about his arguments about light and for against and for light.

And Buddha said to him,

Look,

I'm not here to argue with you.

I can't prove to you that light exists or why it doesn't exist.

But I know a fellow.

And this fellow might be able to help you fix your eyes.

Because it looks like your eyes could be fixed.

And so they took this man to Buddha's physician.

And Buddha's physician looked at his eyes and said,

Yeah,

This is a curable blindness.

And he gave him some medicine.

And within a couple hours,

The man could see.

And the man fell at Buddha's feet,

Ran up to Buddha and fell at his feet and said,

Oh,

Thank you,

Thank you,

Thank you for my sight.

I didn't believe that the that light existed.

And there's no way you could have proved it to me or disproved it to me.

But you were right.

Argument didn't get us anywhere.

Argument didn't solve anything.

What solved it was me being able to see,

Me being able to experience it.

And the same goes with enlightenment.

It's just,

It's the experience.

It's something you have to go through.

And this level we call the super consciousness has a couple levels higher than that.

And super consciousness,

Like I said,

Realizations happen to you.

And they happen in a flowering sense.

They expand and keep happening and keep happening.

And from that moment on,

Truth,

If somebody tries to tell you the sky is green,

You just look at them and like,

What?

No,

The sky's not green.

The sky's blue.

And you're not saying it to prove or disprove an argument.

You're saying it because you can see it.

Because you visually can understand and say,

Hey,

I see.

I don't need theories when I have eyes.

But it goes deeper.

It goes much deeper than just the super consciousness.

Super consciousness,

Like I said,

Is a peak experience.

And I hope one day that it happens to everybody.

I mean,

Buddha said that's everybody's birthright.

To become enlightened is part of your birthright.

And Buddha also believed that many people will be reincarnated over and over until they're enlightened.

And once you're enlightened,

Then you don't need to be reincarnated anymore.

So you get to a level where your energy is raised and you,

Like water,

Are dissolving at 100 degrees Celsius and turning into vapor.

It takes that 100 degrees to get you to that point.

To get you to the point where you'll have to experience the next level,

The next level of existence.

And that might be of spirit.

That might be of something we don't know.

The truth is we can only speculate,

Right,

About what happens beyond this life,

Right?

Whether you get to come back or not,

I sincerely as a surfer hope we do get to come back.

I don't think I could squeeze enough waves into 100 years.

And maybe that's why we only live so long,

Is that when our bodies start getting old and frail,

And we can't surf anymore,

Then if we get a new body,

We get a new life,

Then there's a chance to ride more waves.

Of course,

That's how a surfer would think,

Right?

But like I said,

There is something beyond the super consciousness.

And that's the collective consciousness.

That's even higher than the super consciousness.

I'm not saying it's higher than God.

What I'm saying is that collective consciousness is that consciousness where you feel totally connected with other people,

Other beings,

Totally connected with the ocean or connected with the mountains or the sky.

Being a surfer,

I have a connection with the ocean.

And I hate being away from the ocean for any long periods of time.

If I'm away from the ocean more than a week,

I really start to feel really weird and strange.

And same with mountains.

You know,

I snowboard and spent 20 years snowboarding.

And I don't like being away from the mountains too long either.

It's just this bond that gets formed when you fall in love with something,

When you have a love for existence.

It's said that the ocean speaks to you,

Not in words,

But in many ways that as you're basically sitting out there and waiting for a wave when you're surfing,

You just sit there and you watch.

And you don't have any thoughts in your mind.

You just sit and watch and you wait for that wave.

And you'll know the right wave when it comes at you.

You'll know when to turn and take it.

It will be perfect without thinking about it.

It just happens.

It's just a part of your soul.

Maybe on the mountain it's the same thing.

When you pick a track and you climb to the top of the mountain and you pick a track to slide down,

You'll know what to do.

You'll know when to turn.

You'll know when to control the speed or when you can go faster.

When you can let loose and when you have to put on the brakes.

It all just happens.

And it happens beyond thought.

It happens in this collective consciousness.

Which leads us to the last,

To the highest level of consciousness that a human can experience.

And that is in the state of Samadhi.

And it's called cosmic consciousness.

Now if God exists in any spirit form,

It's in this cosmic consciousness.

This very highest level.

And in Samadhi when you experience this cosmic consciousness,

You're in the state of Samadhi.

In Samadhi when you experience this cosmic consciousness,

Nothing can be said about it.

Really.

It's just something that you have to,

Like I say,

Experience to understand.

But basically everything said without words.

There's this language of God and it's all said in silence.

And it's so deep of a silence that you have to disappear.

You disappear into Samadhi.

You dissolve into existence and existence dissolves into you.

The raindrop becomes the ocean and the ocean becomes the drop.

And this collective consciousness guides you through your life.

It's this intuition that you feel when you're in touch with your higher self.

And it works backwards.

A lot of people don't believe in the existence of God.

Basically because they can't get in contact with this cosmic consciousness.

They can't even get in contact with super consciousness.

Basically they're living halfway unconscious to almost subconscious lives.

Not aware of the higher levels.

So you're never going to be able to experience what God is until you raise your energy.

Until you raise your existence and raise your being into a higher consciousness.

So yeah,

Experience super consciousness.

Experience collective and then experience the cosmic.

The highest level.

And I've gone complete days without thinking.

And I said that once to one of my co-workers one time.

He's like,

What?

What are you talking about?

How can you,

I mean,

Are you an idiot or what?

And I'm like,

No,

No,

You don't understand.

I stayed ahead of my mind.

I functioned throughout the day.

Being aware and just functioning from consciousness above the mind.

Beyond the mind.

And there are times when you have to use the mind for sure.

The mind is a beautiful tool and it's to be used as a tool.

And it's not supposed to be the master because you're supposed to be the master.

You're supposed to be in charge.

You're supposed to be,

Your consciousness should be the guide.

And when you're letting your collective consciousness be your guide.

Then you're letting God lead your life.

You're living a divine existence.

And that's really the highest goal is to experience godliness in this life.

To one day become enlightened.

One day to get in touch with the collective.

And then one day to get in touch with the cosmic.

With the highest level that's known to man.

If the scientist goes his whole life,

Living in just the conscious mind,

He'll never experience or understand or know God.

He may theorize about it.

He may try to prove or disprove it.

It doesn't matter.

Until you raise your energy,

Until you experience it,

Until you grow.

And that's another thing that should be made apparently aware is that by allowing yourself to grow,

By creating more space,

By clearing the mind and being still with the mind,

You are making and creating space for something bigger to come into you.

Right now there's not enough room.

And especially if you have a strong mind,

And a strong mind either for or against arguments of whether God exists,

Then there's no room for experiencing the real.

To experience what God really is.

So my advice is to be adventurous.

You know,

Be courageous.

It's said that God favors the brave.

And that is true.

In a lot of sense.

God doesn't make favors between people,

But he favors the brave because they're the ones that seek him out.

They're the ones that have the courage and the ability to be receptive.

To be open to receiving.

If you're closed,

Just like having a closed fist,

You can't continually close your fist in anger all the time.

You'll use up all your energy,

But it's aggressive and nothing can get in.

But if you open your hand and you open your life,

Then you're receiving.

Then you're receiving God and you're being open to what God has to give you.

What consciousness has in store for you.

But like I said,

If you never raise your energy,

You're not going to experience it.

But if you do raise it,

Raise it without looking for it,

For one.

That's the biggest trick that you have to learn in all this meditative life that we live.

Is that you have to,

Like I said,

If you're in a receptive state of mind,

You can't have any opinion for or against.

You have to be completely open.

And that's what God's will does.

You have to be completely open and that's the only way you'll ever experience what the true reality is.

It's not until that one day that you raise your consciousness and be open and receptive,

Will you be able to experience everything that I'm talking about.

Like I said,

We can let these fools either believe or disbelieve and live in their theories.

Or we can open our eyes,

Experience the truth,

And rejoice that we were given that opportunity to experience it.

And that's what life is about.

That's what we're here for,

Is to experience.

To experience truth,

To experience love,

To experience adventure,

And all the beautiful things that can come along with life.

I know life has its challenges too,

And it's bad and hard points,

But all those hard points make us stronger and give us the perspective.

Without the perspective of bad,

We wouldn't know what good is.

Without the perspective of evil,

We wouldn't know what good is.

Maybe that's the reason why it exists.

I don't know.

It's not logical.

It doesn't make sense sometimes,

But it is what it is.

We're here to grow,

To expand our consciousness.

And the more we expand our consciousness,

The more we understand and the more we accept that it is what is.

But anyway,

Thank you again for joining me.

I know we've carried on a little bit tonight.

And if you like this conversation,

Leave me a nice five-star rating.

Anyway,

I'm just kidding.

Take care of yourselves and have a good one.

We'll talk to you later.

Bye.
