Hello and welcome once again.

Hi my name is Douglas Grumman.

I'm so glad you guys could join me today.

It's a little bit of a sorrowful day for me.

I live on an island in Texas and we get tourists and other people down here that drink and drive and it unfortunately caused the loss of a couple of youths that were in their teens who got hit by this drunk driver in a residential neighborhood.

The guy was doing probably 60 and he blew a red light and just creamed these poor children and they lost their lives.

So today we had a paddle out for these children and it was very touching.

Us surfers,

If you don't know about the paddle outs,

A surfer's funeral,

Basically you take the person's ashes with them.

They didn't have that today.

I don't think this young fellow was a surfer but many of us on the island who do surf wanted to pay homage to this young man,

Mason Lee,

Who lost his life.

At a surfer funeral,

You make a big circle in the water on your surfboards or your boat or whatever floats that can hold you up.

Everybody gets a flower and then they sit and they say a prayer and talk a little bit about the person who had passed away.

And then you take the ashes and you grab a handful of the ashes and you pass it to the next person.

Once everybody gets a handful of ashes,

You take those ashes and you rub them into your board and you basically splash water in the air and pay homage to the person who had passed away.

And then you go and you catch a wave.

And I guess the idea is that that person who passed away gets to ride one more wave with you or with all his friends and all his family that surfed.

So I wanted to share a few insights that I have learned over the years about how to accept death.

If you are terminally ill or if you feel that you're close to dying,

If you're much older in life and you feel like your presence here on earth is almost done,

There's a couple things to keep in mind.

We have two innocences in life.

Our first innocence we're given to as a gift as a child.

We're born with it and it stays with us until we're probably about six or seven years old.

And then we have to learn the ways of the world and we drop that innocence not knowing that we dropped it.

We just move on to education and learning and growing and just accepting everything the world has to offer.

And that's not a bad thing because the world is basically a school.

It's a place for you to learn all these things.

But eventually you have to regain what they call the second innocence.

And the second innocence is one that you earn.

Usually it's earned through meditation.

Some people can maybe earn enlightenment through other means than meditation.

Things like maybe surrendering or singing.

I'm reading a book right now about a guy named Anak who came to God through singing and that was his vehicle that got him through the door.

So anyway,

The second innocence,

There's basically,

I can't say it for certain because I've never seen the river and the essence that the river has to be seen.

But I've learned of this river that basically when we pass away,

If we're a child,

When a child passes away who is still innocent,

They walk right across the water.

They won't sink into the river's surface.

Their innocence has this airiness,

This lightness about them.

So anytime a young child dies and you're worried about whether he's with God or not,

Of course he's with God because he can walk right across the river and cross without sinking or drowning.

The rest of us,

The rest of the population,

If you gain the second innocence,

Then you can walk across the river too.

In fact the journey is already done and already made once you obtain the second innocence.

But the thing is that most people never get this second innocence because they have this ego that says that they know the way.

That they're going to do it their way and whatever they believe is right.

So they never cross the river while they're still alive.

But those who are enlightened or those who are on the path to awakening,

They cross the river quite easily.

And sometimes,

It's not a Sufi teaching,

But it's a Tantric teaching that if you stop trying to swim upstream and just float with the currents and just float across the river,

You don't have to fight it.

You just go with the energy and it'll take you to the other side.

And you'll cross without any problems whatsoever.

But it takes a lot of trust to dive into this Tantric teaching.

So a little more on death.

Here's a Sufi story that I'd like to share with you.

And the Sufi story is a pretty cool story.

So it starts off like this.

There's this very giving king that had a big vast kingdom and had a nice marketplace down with lots of riches and lots of marketers selling their clothes and their food and everything else that you'd buy in the market.

And anyway,

The king was such a giving king that he would go into his village like once a week and have like a parade going down the middle of the marketplace.

And he would throw a gold coin to the innocent little children or older people that are that are people that just had this innocent look about them.

He would throw a coin to them.

Well there's this lawyer,

This solicitor that saw this king doing this and he wanted one of those gold coins.

So he's like,

Well,

I'm going to trick the king into giving me the gold coin.

So he dresses up like a small child and thinks that he's going to fool the king.

But the king passes by him in the street and he goes,

Ah,

I recognize you.

You can't get by me.

No gold coin for you.

And then the king kept throwing the coins at the innocent children or the innocent older looking people.

And then the lawyer,

The solicitor tried to fool the king again by dressing up as an older person and he wiped mud on his face and tried to look all innocent and pure and everything.

And the king passed by him in the marketplace and he goes,

Nope,

I still recognize you.

You can't fool me.

So I guess this went on for a little bit,

But the lawyer kept trying every little trick he could think of to be cunning and get that gold coin.

He really wanted it so bad.

And what happened was the king was coming down into the marketplace again to hand out the gold coins.

And then the solicitor saw in front of an undertaker shop a open casket that was for sale.

So he ran and he jumped in the casket that was facing the street and the king saw the lawyer in the casket with his hands folded and pretending he was dead.

And the king looked at him and said,

Yes,

Okay,

Now you get the gold coin.

But not until you die.

When you die,

You get the gold coin.

Not until then.

So many of you might have realized what I was talking about already.

Those of you that are very astute and wise,

People may understand the story or may have heard the story already.

But for those of you that haven't,

The gold coin represents enlightenment.

And the king represented God.

God being very wise,

But at the same time being very giving and caring to those who deserve to have that attention of his.

But you can be cunning,

You can be tricky,

You can be conniving,

And it's not going to work.

You will not get enlightenment through being tricky or by trying to make a deal with God.

I mean,

Who knows when you pass away in this life.

And I know this whole talk is focused around death.

You might pass away and you might get the gold coin.

You might get into heaven.

You might get enlightenment when you die.

But my point is,

Why are you going to wait?

Why would you waste every opportunity that comes your way?

And the opportunities are gained through meditation,

Through prayer,

Through love and kindness and compassion and beauty and just showering love on other people.

And that happens when you,

If you start meditating and making it like a daily ritual to go into silence and have a few moments outside of your mind and outside of your known consciousness into a higher consciousness.

See when you get that second innocence that I was talking about,

Then you can dive into deeper meditation,

Things that you could never do as a child.

Because that,

You have a sort of meditative sense about you when you're a child,

But not like the depths of an adult who has regained this innocence,

The second innocence.

And then you can enter things like samadhi.

And samadhi has three levels and each level takes you a little bit deeper.

The first level of samadhi is kind of associated with the throat and the throat chakra and hearing and being able to hear voices from the beyond and sometimes spirit guides,

You can hear what they're saying,

They're trying to communicate with you.

And that happens up through the throat chakra.

And then there's the third eye chakra,

Which is the next level of samadhi and that is more about seeing other things.

And it has to come in that succession too.

First you have to be able to hear and deal with that part because when you get the visual part,

When your third eye opens up and you've raised energy up to that kind of level and you have this second innocence about you,

Then you see things that other people cannot see.

You comprehend things other people cannot comprehend.

You go to such depths and not many people will even believe what you're going to tell them when you come back from those depths.

But then the highest level of samadhi,

Which is in line with the crown chakra,

It takes you into such depth that you disappear.

You completely disappear into existence and existence somehow fills you while you're filling existence.

You're in places.

And then when you come back out of the meditation where you experience that kind of samadhi,

Then you're just soaked with bliss.

It's just so beautiful.

It's just such an amazing experience to have happen to you.

But like I said,

Death is a hard subject to talk about.

It's actually taboo in a lot of ways to even talk about it because we don't want to scare you away from this experience.

Who knows what death is going to be like?

It could be better than what you have now,

What your life is now.

But that doesn't mean you can't make your life better now and not try to wait until the last minute to decide which journey you're going to take.

The journey could be decided when you're 16,

17,

18 years old and you wouldn't have to go through all the hassles and all the pitfalls that life brings its way because you'll be able to float across that river.

You'll be able to just glide across and not have to worry about it.

It's so much easier to cross when you're younger than when you're older because when you're older you have a specific mindset.

You're not very flexible.

You won't believe things that come your way.

People think they're hallucinations and things like that.

There are a lot of spiritual seekers out there that have hallucinations but they're so real.

In essence,

It could be somebody from the 9th or 10th dimension reaching out towards you and trying to communicate with you to help guide you into this deeper realm and this second innocence that I keep talking about.

Anyway,

I just want to say those few words about death and share them with my beautiful following audience.

I love all of you guys and I really appreciate you taking the time to listen to this and I hope it enlightens your life and you start off on that journey and obtain that second innocence before it's too late.

I can also be found recently I started doing Twitch live and YouTube live.

So if you guys want to catch me live,

You can catch me on those venues.

I haven't set a schedule out yet as to specific times that I'll be live but I'm getting there.

I'm getting closer to it every day.

Right now I'm just making 15 minute clips and posting them on YouTube and putting it out there.

On Twitch I'm known as the Wave Whisperer and on YouTube I'm just Douglas Grumman.

So anyway,

Y'all take care of yourselves.

Namaste to all you beautiful people and Aloha,

Mahalo to all my surfing friends and Blue Skies to all you beautiful skydivers out there.

Take care of yourselves and talk to you later.

Bye bye.
