Welcome to Insight Timer.

My name is Douglas Gromins.

Thanks for joining me.

So something happened to me yesterday which kind of really stressed me out a little bit.

I did something.

I didn't realize how much it would impact my life at the moment.

My immediate life I should say.

But basically I felt this like big burden of stress come over me.

And then I remember my teaching that I shared with you guys.

You're trying to basically put the stress or anxiety,

The fear,

The anger,

Any negative emotion out on the periphery of your being.

So when I say out on the periphery,

I mean you can actually detach your mind from this stress,

From this anxiety.

And by doing so what you do is you create a center within your being.

Where if you're sitting there watching your mind and then watching the stress and how the stress is trying to infiltrate your life and take over and destroy everything.

Basically you can keep that stress at the periphery.

You can keep it at the very outside of your being.

And then you can be centered yourself and then it doesn't seem,

It won't seem to affect you as much.

It won't take control of your life.

So yeah the stress is still going to be there and I've made three stress videos to,

Audio tracks to talk about how to deal with these levels of stress with meditation.

So that's what I did.

I basically went into a meditation and I sat there and I just watched this stress.

And I was just aware and you know seeing it at the you know the periphery of my being and trying to take over.

But it couldn't because I had this center and I kept saying okay well this is what it is and this is how we're going to deal with it.

And we're just going to face the stress and deal with it accordingly.

When they say that a Buddha doesn't feel stress it's not true.

The Buddha just feels it on the periphery of his being.

So he doesn't let it disturb his center.

Because at his center is pure love.

Pure awareness,

Pure consciousness and pure love.

And that's at your center.

And that is what you vibrate and radiate from every day and helps you to feel alive and feel centered.

And from the center you'll feel a vibrancy about you.

And it's a peacefulness.

I mean things happen in life.

Things can pull you off your center.

Tragic things that happen in life can drastically pull you off your center.

And I used to teach Aikido to children and adults but basically I realized with children is children can be pulled off their centers very easily.

And this can cause them to cry or have like little breakdowns and little like moments where they don't know how to handle the situation.

So basically in Aikido I basically taught the kids how to be centered and how to have a strong center.

And not let things absorb into your center.

So when you deal with a situation you make it go around you.

You avoid it trying to take over your psyche.

So like I said keep practicing awareness.

Anytime you're confronted with an emotion or a situation where you feel like it's going to pull you off your center just remain aware.

That's the most important thing to do is just remain aware and just watch it.

Be the watcher.

Be the watcher who watches the mind.

And then of course the mind is watching everything else that's going on in the world.

It's recording and it's a good recorder but your consciousness is actually stronger and more powerful than your mind is.

You just have to learn how to operate from it.

And I hope that you will listen to what I'm trying to share with you.

For the main reason that I come from my experience and everything I talk about I don't talk about something I don't know or haven't experienced it.

If you go over all my recordings and listen to everything that I've recorded there's almost 24 years of spiritual growth and spiritual meditation and awareness and consciousness.

All this started when I was pretty young still and I brought it into my life and every day of my life is a waking aspect of this realization of awareness being at the center.

But like I said you don't need me to be handsome.

You don't need me to be super articulate.

You don't need me to be charismatic although that might help.

But what you need me to be is to be able to share my insight with you and help guide you along this path.

I mean that's all a master,

Any master can do.

And I've kind of tried to refuse the fact that I've gotten to this level in life where that I've been put here to help others.

But when you can get up to Samadhi and experience the three levels of Samadhi and have that become part of your daily life then yeah you're ready to be a master.

And you'll know that when that time comes and it happens to you you'll know that it's your time to start sharing and giving back to the world what you've learned,

What you've picked up over the period of your spiritual journey.

And over the period of how many years that you meet people and try to.

.

.

It's almost impossible not to want to share your spirituality,

To share your love.

Because the more you share love the more you get back.

So that's why sharing it sometimes seems so important.

It's an abundance of something and it just overflows from your body,

From your essence and you want to share it.

But Buddha said basically that there's basically four types of horses.

And Buddha was a horse lover.

He absolutely loved horses.

But basically he defined the horses into four categories.

And when I say horses also I also mean that he defined humans into four categories.

I think the lowest category of horse is the one you have to pull a whip out and literally beat the hell out of it in order to get it to behave and do what you wish to do.

Then the second type of person or horse would be a horse that basically you pull the whip out and you hit it once and it snaps to and starts behaving and being a good horse.

And that's the second level.

Then the third level you just pull the whip out and it sees the whip and then it starts behaving.

That's the third highest level of horse.

And then the highest level of horse is just the shadow of the whip.

Just the mere shadow of the whip and the horse will be like,

Oh,

I better behave myself.

And followers you'll find,

People who are coming up in the spiritual world and looking to you for guidance are in these four categories.

Some people are hard-headed and it takes a lot to beat them down.

If they're mind-centered people,

Yeah,

It's going to be almost like a difficult battle to convince them.

So argument does not help in this case.

I mean you can argue,

Argue,

Argue all you want and it's just someone's mind and you can't change their mind.

Then there are people who are a little bit more intelligent but they may be lazy.

So you just pull the whip out and hit them once with the whip and wow,

They behave.

And now we're not actually literally saying go out and strike somebody with a whip.

We're just using this as an analogy to describe how to convey your messages to people.

And then the next category person,

They just need to see the whip and basically just bring up,

Not an argument,

But just bring up the word Jesus or the word Buddha and some people just snap to attention.

And then there are higher levels than that.

Some people you can just look at them and smile and say hello and they snap to and they kind of get and they feel your vibe.

They feel where you're coming from.

They feel the essence about you.

And then there's other people.

They don't even have to even come in communion with the person.

You could just be listening to this recording,

Listening to my voice and all of a sudden something snaps and aligns with you.

And it's a synchronicity that happens between a master and a student or a disciple.

And that's kind of the highest level,

This level of union,

This communion that happens between a master and his followers or you want to call them just fellow people.

And speaking of followers,

We got a few new followers this month.

I want to bring them up.

I think I may have mentioned Ralusha from London.

Thank you for joining us and thanks for being a part of this group.

Ann is a new follower since the 24th of November.

Jan just signed on the 29th of November.

Thank you.

Hi Jan.

Nice to meet you.

And Silja from,

Doesn't say where she's from,

Silja Marken.

I'm probably totally butchering your name.

But anyway,

I want to say thank you guys for joining the group and listening to these talks that we will have together hopefully one day.

We'll do some live talks and make it a little more like it's communion between two people rather than just listening to a track and then formulating your own opinion.

Because what you hear and what I'm talking and saying can be two different things.

There's two different levels.

Your level of understanding comes from your conditioning and what you're open to.

And my transference of these energies is basically trying to put into words what I've experienced and how that can help you along the path and along your journey.

And along this journey I want to share with you two of the most noble truths.

I know Buddha had noble truths or precepts that people would follow.

But mine are only two.

I have two things that I would ask my listeners to try to do.

And it's really hard to do.

Even though it sounds easy,

What I'm about to share with you is really,

Really hard to do.

Number one is drop fear.

And when I say drop fear,

I mean face it.

All your life you've been afraid of this,

Afraid of that,

You're afraid of your parents,

You're afraid of failure,

You're afraid of embarrassment,

You're afraid of all these different types of fears.

Face it and drop it.

That's rule number one.

And then rule number two is to get rid of greed.

Greed comes in all sorts of forms.

And I'm not saying don't want things or don't want a good life.

That's not what I'm saying by greed.

Greed is wanting more than you will ever have to use or ever need.

Greed is kind of desiring in a way.

And desire,

A subtle form of desire is actually the desire to go to heaven after you die.

And the reason I say to drop greed is because that subtle form of fear is pulling on you from left and right and pulling you down and weighing you down.

And if you can drop fear and drop greed,

Then these weights will pull off of you and you'll find that when you're centered,

When you're practicing awareness,

Like I keep preaching day in and day out,

As you're practicing awareness,

If you can drop these two things and go into meditation with that in mind,

And also you have to get to a point where gratitude is the key element too,

Where you get to a point where you can say life's never going to get better than this.

This is as good as it's going to get.

And accept that this is it.

That no moment could be ever greater because you're alive,

Hopefully you're healthy and not hurt or in pain or something.

Those are different aspects that may need a little more addressing later.

But if you're healthy and you're happy and you're listening to these words,

Then these are the few things that are going to be holding you back.

The last two things that will break the straw off the camel's back,

Basically.

So anyway,

Keep those in mind and hopefully you'll find a moment like I did many years ago and you'll be able to drop them and switch from gravitation to levitation.

Anyway,

I guess we'll end it there,

But thank you guys for joining me again.

I really appreciate your time.

And like I said,

If you like these recordings,

Leave me a nice rating on the bottom.

If I can get a good enough rating,

If you have to have 4.

5 stars to do a live event,

And we're so close.

I think we're like 4.

25,

So I just need a little bit more to get that 4.

5 rating.

I mean,

I've gotten lots of excellent ratings on all the recordings,

On most of the recordings.

And I think the ones that were not getting good ratings or people weren't really watching too much,

I just went ahead and deleted them.

And what I'll do is I'll just make better ones.

I'll be more articulate and more charismatic and more careful with the words that I try to transfer to you guys.

But anyway,

Namaste,

Aloha,

Thank you guys for following and listening.

I appreciate all your time.

Take care then.

Bye bye.
