Spiders Can Say A Lot
This lesson describes why we must meditate and learn centering in order for the world to be healed. Many mystics say you don't have to do anything and that is true but only if you lay the ground work. This podcast takes you to the basics of centering and meditation thus giving you the opportunity if you are ready to take the leap.

I live in a small town by the sea and I have a nice pleasant house that's turned into my little version of maybe California you could say.
It's so nice to have beautiful plants and greenery everywhere.
But I was walking around my house to the side of my house between myself and my neighbor's house.
It's a small little alleyway fenced in.
And I have two big bushes between the fence and the house.
And I came upon a spider's web.
And I looked at the spider's web and I was like,
Wow,
This is so beautiful.
But when I look at the spider's web,
Because of the centering that I put myself through,
This centering that has become me,
I say to myself,
Okay,
So here's a lesson here.
And the lesson is this,
Is that the mystics say that you don't need to do anything.
Like the mystic Krishna Mathuri,
He says that you don't need to do anything.
You don't even need to meditate.
Because meditation is an act.
You're actually creating an activity for you to do to achieve something.
But Krishna Mathuri says that you don't even need to do that.
You need to just be.
But as I watched the spider's web,
I realized this.
I'm like,
Okay,
So if the spider didn't build the web,
He would not eat.
He would starve to death.
So in order for the spider to eat,
Then a web must be built.
Okay,
So that's just one of the universal laws of life.
So if we apply that into the spiritual context,
If we do nothing,
If we don't build that nest,
If we don't build that web,
And we do nothing,
Then we don't benefit in any way.
We don't reap the rewards of the fruits of our labor.
So you must do something.
But then you have to get to,
You have to learn this trick,
You have to learn that this something has to be dropped at some point.
So the spider sits in the middle of the web completely still,
Everly patient,
Waiting for something to fall into his web so that he or she can eat.
And it is this patience that this spider has that allows it to survive.
So she does nothing.
But initially,
There had to have been something that had to have been done.
And just like us surfers out in the water,
If you don't go in the water and risk the chance of getting eaten by a shark or getting stung by a jellyfish or sea lice or whatever else is out there that,
I mean,
Yeah,
There's jellyfish,
There's so many hazards out there,
So many things that,
I mean,
You could even get hurt surfing.
And if you're out there alone,
By yourself,
Which I used to do many,
Many times when I was much younger living on the East Coast,
And even in Texas,
Sometimes I would just go to secluded beaches like Matagorda,
Or on the East Coast,
The Outer Banks,
And I would surf by myself.
And the thought of something happening to me was there,
But I just pushed it out of my mind and I put it to the back.
So if the surfer doesn't go in the water,
You don't reap the rewards.
You don't get to ride the waves.
So in the spiritual sense,
It's the same thing.
If you don't do something,
Then nothing's going to happen.
You won't reap the rewards of your labor.
And in my last track,
I mentioned that it's medicine for the world,
This centering that I teach and that I'm preaching and pushing and shoving down your throats.
It's this new centering that allows something other to happen to you in life,
Something other,
Something beautiful.
And all the beautiful things can happen when you're in a receptive state of mind.
Like I was saying about the wheel in the other track with the medicine for the world,
This wheel where there's a hub at the center of every wheel,
Of course,
Right?
But this hub,
This center that's non-moving and still has no anxiety,
It has no stress.
It's actually just pure love.
And the closer you draw to the center,
The more loving you become,
The more open and receptive you'll be.
And this receptiveness allows so much more to happen into your life.
All the beautiful things come into your life.
And yet you still have to deal with the ugly things,
Too.
You can't separate them because God gives you both the good and the bad.
It's just part of life that we have to accept.
But it's all God.
It's not you.
And to think that all good is God and the evil comes out of you is wrong.
That's egotistical.
That's saying that I did this or I did that.
And it's a false sense of security.
And I did mention that this drawing closer to the center is scary because being receptive in itself in a spiritual manner is a scary thing because you're scared of the unknown.
You don't know what's going to happen to you.
But if you focus inward,
Then your energy draws closer to the center.
Your energy draws closer to the hub.
And the hub is reaching out to you.
So it's this dual action thing that's happening.
And this medicine,
This is medicine that I'm saying the world needs.
You're living most of your life basically not knowing that your mind is at the center.
And your mind,
Like I said,
Has a lot of tension because mind does not know a release from tension.
But if you draw closer to the center and you allow yourself to be still,
And you can even start like this.
You can just take a breath.
You take a breath in,
You breathe in God.
Hold it for a second.
Feel that pulse,
That sense of emptiness between breaths.
And then exhale.
And you breathe yourself out to the universe.
So you take God in on your in-breath,
You hold it for a second,
And you exhale you into the universe.
You give back everything that you've—all the good,
All the bad,
Everything.
You just give it all back to God.
And there's a gap between the inhalation and the exhalation.
So you breathe in God.
You feel the essence of oneness.
Hold it for a second.
Then you exhale and you breathe out you.
And you feel your is-ness and your centering.
And you keep doing this much,
Just as much as like building that spider's web.
It's a start.
It helps center you.
It gives you a sense of centering.
And the centering actually happens between the breaths,
Between the exhalation,
That gap that's right there.
You feel that gap.
You absorb that gap.
And you can actually play with it and make the gap bigger.
So you breathe in,
You exhale,
You inhale in,
And you breathe God in,
And you hold it for as long as you can.
Hold that breath and just be still.
Because when the breath is held,
You'll find that it's kind of hard to think.
That your mind ceases to be,
Because it needs this breathing for the mind to keep moving.
So you feel it on the inhalation,
And then you hold it,
And you feel the godliness,
You feel the centering,
Then you exhale.
And there's the centering there too.
It's centering where you meet the universe.
Where the universe gets absorbed into you.
It sounds so simple.
It sounds so like,
How could this make a change in my life?
But it will.
It's the beginning of the start of feeling that centeredness.
This new center.
Not the mind center,
But the spiritual center.
The heart is very close to the spiritual center,
So the feeling people,
People who go throughout their lives with a feeling center are closer to godliness than the mind center people are.
Because the mind center people are full of stress and anxiety,
And they don't know how to let themselves feel.
They think that that's a weakness.
But it's not a weakness.
It's a strength.
It's something that you grow into though.
It's something that you develop and go past the mind.
The mind will always be there to work for you.
Don't worry about that.
And actually what happens is that the mind becomes stronger and your thinking becomes more clear.
And you have this centering now about you that helps you to take in messages from the divine,
From the super consciousness.
If you don't believe in god or the divine,
Just use the word super consciousness.
It's this connection with the universe that happens when you come to a higher center.
But you have to leave the mind center and you have to go a little bit deeper into your psyche.
You have to let the ego go.
Just say,
Okay,
I give in.
Whatever god's will be,
Then I give in to that.
And the Bible says,
Thy will be done.
And this is very important because that means you're letting go.
You're being receptive.
You're allowing the universe to now talk through you.
And this is,
Like I said,
This is the medicine the world needs to get rid of things like gun violence,
To get rid of negativity and stress in the world.
This new centering allows you just to be stress-free and help you get rid of anxiety and other mental disorders.
There are some mental disorders,
Though,
That are deeper than just what we can address with meditation.
There are chemical disorders that happen in our life,
Chemical imbalances in our life.
But if we start off and address these things at an early age,
If we start our children off,
Learning this breathing technique,
This centering,
Just that is a start.
It's not the end.
It's just building the nest.
And then when you get calm and centered and you have your nest built,
And then you sit down to meditate,
You'll find it a whole different world.
You'll find yourself living in such blissfulness and such peacefulness because you're sitting there like the spider,
Just waiting,
Just sitting there and everly patient.
And then the miracle happens.
If the spider was moving around crazy all the time,
Doing this,
Doing that,
Then he would never get to eat.
The web would be constantly moving around and it would scare off or maybe the insects and flies would see the web moving around and they would not land in it.
So the spider has to be completely still.
And we have to learn this stillness.
But like I said,
You have to lay the groundwork in order for this to happen.
You have to create a space.
And this creating a space is divinely—not to say inspired,
But divinely encouraged because without the space,
There's not enough room inside of you because the ego creates a shell around you that stops you.
It inhibits your growth to become this beautiful flower and this beautiful plant or this beautiful essence that has to come forth.
It won't happen because the ego inhibits it.
So if you're receptive and you become open to the spiritual world,
To the super consciousness,
That's when the miracle starts happening.
So like I said,
You have to lay the groundwork.
Something simple,
Just from watching a spider,
I come up with this.
But anyway,
I hope I didn't bore you guys too much.
I really hope that we can lay the groundwork for a new humanity.
And this is medicine for the whole world.
I know America is like the headliner right now of gun violence and just people going crazy everywhere,
Doing whatever they will because they're so lost because they don't have that right centering.
They're working from the mind center and they don't know any better.
And then you've got religions that say they don't teach you to have this spiritual center.
Sure,
They talk about love,
They talk about this and that,
But they don't know how to take the leap.
And that's what the mystics are for.
That's what the Buddhas are for.
The enlightened ones are here to give you courage.
We can't do anything for you.
We can't build the web for you.
That you have to do yourself.
What angle into the wind you put the web is very important.
It's important that the web doesn't reflect light,
So you have to do things a certain way.
And each one of us is a little bit different.
Each one of us has our own certain way.
And every circumstance,
A bush may be facing into the wind and that would be no good because that would blow the web all over the place.
So all these things have to be taken into consideration.
There's so many variables about each person.
Each person is so unique that every single person creates a new religion,
A new way.
You can follow the paths that Buddha laid down or Jesus laid down or Bhojidarama laid down or Lao Tzu or any of these mystics that have come before you.
You can follow the path to a certain point.
But Taoism,
Lao Tzu says,
Is the pathless path.
And Buddha says his path is like the birds flying in the sky.
They leave no footprints.
So what he's saying is you have to use your consciousness.
Your consciousness is what will get you there.
Your consciousness takes you to the core.
And at the core you dissolve.
And then you dissolve into a universal consciousness.
But you have to be completely receptive and completely open and allow this all to happen to you.
And then the world will change.
Then the world will grow up and mature.
Because it is a maturity from the intellectual body to the spiritual body.
And then there's three more bodies past that.
But we'll get into that subject another day.
For now I just want to say thank you again for watching me or listening to me.
Not watching me,
That's silly.
But anyway,
Thanks for your time.
And namaste to all my spiritual friends.
And aloha to all my beautiful surfing friends.
And may you all have beautiful lives and learn to live centered with the real center.
Not a false center.
Not an ego center.
But a consciousness,
Super consciousness center.
And allow it to happen and see what happens.
But you've got to lay down the groundwork.
Take care of yourselves.
Bye bye.
