Hello to all you people out there trying to be stress free and living a stress free life.
If you're not quite there yet,
Then listen to this track and I will go deeper into more insights into how to deal with stress,
How to deal with your stress,
And how to alleviate it,
How to use meditation to bring you to a point where you're almost like a mystic yourself,
Where you're basically centered and living off of this centering instead of living your life in the periphery.
And when you live in your mind,
You're living in the periphery.
When you live through your heart center,
Which is not really your heart,
So I'm not saying hey be a mind centered or a heart centered person,
I'm just saying your true center is closer to the heart than it is to the mind.
But I know what you're saying.
You might be saying I don't have time to sit and meditate.
It's nonsense for me.
It's not going to work.
How can sitting still for 15 minutes relieve my stress?
Okay,
So let's get into this a little bit.
In today's world,
And today's modern man and woman,
It can be very difficult to move from one center to the other,
To somehow leave the mind when you're basically thinking the mind is how I make my living,
The mind is how I stay safe at night,
Keep my family safe,
All these other things,
Right?
But when it comes to spirituality,
When it comes to your mental,
Spiritual bodies and getting them to be healthy and mature,
As we discussed in the other videos,
There are four bodies that need to be matured.
Your physical,
Your emotional,
Your intellectual and your spiritual.
And like I said in the other audio track,
If you lived a healthy life,
And you weren't abused,
Or you didn't spend your whole life in substance abuse,
Then at those 28 years after those four cycles,
You should have gotten to a point where your energy will be able to rise and you'll be able to be a centered person and move from the mind center into the true center of your being.
And if it didn't happen,
Then all that can be made up later on in life.
It's more difficult to address it because it's not in the forefront anymore.
I mean,
You've grown up,
You've matured emotionally,
You've matured intellectually.
And now we've just got to work on the spiritual part,
Because most adults never even mature past the second stage of life,
The emotional part.
Some adults that are,
Especially if you're addicted to alcohol and everything,
You don't develop emotionally.
You're basically sucking on mom's nipple.
I know that sounds kind of perverted,
But basically you've got a pacifier.
You've got something that is taking the edge off and not allowing you to proceed and be healthy.
So there's a lot of things to think about,
And a lot of people go to the bottle when they get really stressed out.
I have a friend who's a doctor and she's a medical examiner for a coroner.
Sometimes she gets home from really rough days when you've seen things like she's seen them.
It's hard.
It's extremely hard.
So yeah,
A little alcohol to release the stress valve.
A little alcohol is fine.
A drink here or there is not going to kill you.
If you drank one beer a week,
That would be actually pretty damn healthy for you,
Because it's like that steam valve we talked about on the kettle.
The steam valve releases just enough pressure so the whole thing doesn't explode.
One of the techniques I want you guys to consider doing is to grab a pillow.
Get yourself alone into a space where you feel safe or nobody's going to hear you.
If somebody else hears you,
They're a loving type of person and they're not going to judge you for what you're about to do.
But basically grab a pillow,
Go into a room by yourself,
Turn up some music,
And basically take out all your stress on this pillow.
It's a crime to take your stress out on another person.
It's a crime for you and a crime for the other person.
It hurts both people.
But the pillow has no feelings.
This actually works because I've done it before.
When I got really hurt before,
I used a pillow and just went away and cried my eyes out and pounded on the pillow and just released all this stress,
All this anxiety,
And just let it out.
It's a great technique to do and it's something I would advise doing.
Even if you feel like you're coping with your stress and you're getting by and you're dealing with things just fine,
It's still a good idea to try this.
And then this release valve,
Or you could use some of those meditation techniques I talked about in the Stress Number Two audio track.
These release valves get you to a point where you can actually,
Not quite sit still,
But let's put it like this.
They're kind of like our four stages to meditation.
One stage is kind of like carrying a bunch of wood across a field with no help at all.
You pick up a bundle of wood and you've got to carry it to the other side of the field,
Maybe to the shack that you're going to spend some time in and maybe go out and meditate in that shack or something.
But anyway,
The first level of meditation is manually picking up the wood and carrying it across and putting it down.
Then the second stage is like using a bullet cart,
An ox cart,
And having the ox carry it from point A to point B.
And then the third stage is more like a motor car.
In the motor car,
You throw the wood in and get it across really fast,
From point A to point B really fast.
And then the highest elevation you can go in meditation is basically what we call the airplane.
And the airplane will take you even faster and with less headaches and less problems from point A to any point you choose in the world.
The airplane makes you freer to explore and have a different perspective in life.
So the bullet cart is kind of what I call walking through the field first,
The first level.
Walking through the field carrying your wood is kind of like chanting an om or om maadipad mi hum or doing transcendental meditation.
Transcendental meditation does relieve stress a little bit,
But that's just the first step.
The fellow that developed transcendental meditation gained a lot of popularity in America because it did settle things down.
Basically what it does is it nulls the mind.
It dulls the mind and keeps you occupied.
But it's not real meditation.
That's just picking up the wood and carrying it across the field.
It's not what we call real meditation.
It is,
It's the first level,
But you've got more to go.
You've got farther to go.
So then the bullet cart or the oxen cart comes in handy.
And that is when you're basically starting to have gaps of no thought.
Basically you're getting help now.
You took it to,
You released the steam valve,
Now you're getting a little deeper where you're having moments where a little bit of bliss comes in.
But that's still not meditation either.
Which leads us to the motor car stage of meditation,
What we call the motor car.
At least I call it and Osho would probably back me up on this one.
But the motor car state of meditation is basically,
Okay,
So you're having longer and longer gaps of no thought.
But then you start to have glimpses of samadhi,
Glimpses of enlightenment.
Something will flash or it will be a brief moment of pure bliss and pure light and pure essence.
But it's God's way of letting you know that you're getting closer.
You're getting closer to the goal.
But what's happening is in this third stage of meditation,
And I know you guys are thinking as being stressed out and being stressful that you can never get this far or anything,
But it's really not that hard.
If you follow what I'm saying and you practice these levels of meditation,
Start off with the first level.
Use some transcendental om or shout or cuss or use a pillow and beat on the pillow.
Get that out of your system.
Get that anxiety.
Get that stress out of your system a little bit.
And then you might be able to get to the second stage.
And then you can develop into the third stage,
What we're talking about now,
The motor car.
And like I said,
In the third stage,
You're almost home.
You're almost there.
So God's giving you glimpses.
He's giving you hope.
Like a flash of lightning in the valley between the mountains,
Like a flash of lightning at night lights the way so you can find your way up to the mountain.
And sometimes a flash is all you need to help get to the base of the mountain.
Once you start climbing,
It's another story.
And the climbing is,
Like I said,
The fourth stage.
You're getting to higher perspectives now.
You're getting more energy.
At this point,
Meditation has taken effect and the goal is reached.
And the third point,
You're really getting centered.
In the third stage,
You're really getting centered.
But in the fourth stage,
The jump occurs.
The jump occurs that allows you to leave the periphery and go back to the periphery at will,
Under your control.
It is complete centering.
It is complete awareness,
Consciousness.
There's abundant peace on that side.
But that's the fourth stage.
That's the stage of the airplane.
And not only is there peace and abundance and all these beautiful things,
But now you've got a connection with existence,
With this godliness that we call existence.
You will feel it everywhere.
You will feel it absorb everything and everything around you.
But this is basically the highest level of meditation.
I mean,
You're disappearing into what they call samadhi when you reach these levels.
And it takes time.
It takes practice.
It takes time.
It takes dedication.
You have to become devoted to this journey,
Basically.
And it's not hard.
It's not work.
It's more play.
In fact,
The Indians have a word they call leela.
And leela means God's play.
Basically God is playing.
And the whole existence is just this dance and this song and dance and playing.
But you won't experience that until you get up into the third and fourth stages of meditation.
You won't experience that in life,
That blissfulness,
Unless it's sporadic,
Like I said,
Like a flash of lightning at night.
But it all starts with releasing a little stress,
Letting a little bit go at each time.
And I also used to teach meditations,
Especially to city folk,
To how to get rid of some of the stress.
And most of the people that ever did the stress-relieving meditations with me,
They really loved them.
And they came back a couple times.
But eventually you don't even need those meditations anymore when you start becoming centered.
You become more of a whole human being,
Functioning,
Not schizophrenic,
Not bipolar.
You get control of these things.
Mental illnesses fall below you when you can move from your mind center to your real center.
Anyway,
Okay,
So I think that helped you guys out a little bit more.
This is track number three for stress relief.
There's so much depth and there's so much more understanding that we can only put a little bit into each audio track and share a little bit at a time.
Because mostly stressed out people don't have a whole lot of time,
Or they feel they don't have a whole lot of time.
So we keep it between 10,
15,
20 minutes per track and just take small bites at a time.
Eat your meal slowly and digest this slowly and absorb it into your body and it'll become fuel for you to grow and to love and to expand by.
So anyway,
Thank you for joining me.
My name is Doug Grummins and I really appreciate everything you guys are doing and good luck with all the stress relief.
If you guys want to do a live event here on Insight Timer,
We could probably do one of the active meditations.
I would be glad to do it and facilitate it and guide everybody through it.
It's one of those things where you basically need to have a space where you're going to feel safe and be able to express yourself freely without anybody's judgments or anybody thinking you're crazy or anything.
But we go a little bit mad,
But it's a controlled madness.
It's all controlled.
And that's what you guys have to do also is that when you're meditating by yourself and you're letting out a little bit of steam,
You've got to let it go to a certain amount,
But let the meditation take over,
Let the meditation do the work,
Let existence do the work.
I mean,
That's what existence is here for and that's what you're here for too,
Is to share both good and bad,
Stress and anxiety and also peace and love and share all these things with existence.
Because that's what God wants.
That's what existence wants is to absorb into you and you absorb into existence and feel the oneness and the wholeness of it.
Anyway,
Thank you very much for joining me.
You guys take care of yourself.
Much love to all my new followers.
I'm just tickled pink that we have followers from basically South Africa,
United Kingdom,
All over the globe.
People are now listening to not just my words,
But listen to my silence as well.
Listen to what happens between the words.
So sometimes you have to read between the words to hear the hidden meaning.
Anyway,
I guess they say when the time comes,
The Master will show himself or herself.
So if it's your time and this is what resonates with you,
If this sharing of what I'm doing with all the tracks that I'm making on Insight Time,
Or if it resonates with you,
Then cool man,
That's really good.
Anyway,
You guys take care of yourself.
So much love and namaste and aloha.
Bye bye.
