Creating A Buddha Field
The world is thirsty and in need of love and awareness. We need a rainfall to quence the earth and complete the journey from a raindrop to being one again with the ocean. So we need to create a Buddhafield together we can do this. I cannot do it on my own I wish to spread awareness and love through out the world therefore a field a storm is needed for everyone.

You see,
What we're trying to do is to create a Buddha Field.
But don't let that word scare you.
Because Buddha Field just means a lot of people.
I mean a lot of people all waking up right around the same time.
So there are those of us out there that are working our butts off,
Making videos,
Making audio tracks,
Preaching in front of friends,
Sharing our love.
Just being an essence of what Buddha would have called an awakened one,
An awakened being.
Anyway,
My name is Doug Grummins.
Thank you for joining me.
So imagine if you will the life of a raindrop.
Then the song System of a Down sings,
They say,
Well,
One with the river,
And then one again after the fall.
So the journey of a raindrop goes from the ocean.
And God is an ocean.
God is an ocean of love.
And our journey,
Once we were with God,
Then we got absorbed into the sky,
Floated over the land somewhere,
And then we rained,
Gathered again in rivers and streams,
Went down waterfalls,
Went through lakes,
Got absorbed again,
And maybe went through a whole cycle again.
But eventually,
Every raindrop finally makes its way back to the ocean in one form or the other.
Either it supports life,
Supports love,
Gratitude,
And happiness,
Or it continues its journey over and over again before it returns to the ocean.
So if just one raindrop fell,
Imagine that if just one raindrop fell,
You're not quenching the earth's surface,
Right?
So if there's just one Buddha,
One person making videos,
Making audio tracks,
Then what's the sense of it if only one drop falls?
What has to happen is you have to create a Buddha field.
And don't let that word scare you.
A Buddha field is just an expression of thousands of people being awakened at near the same time.
So then you have a million raindrops,
Or a thousand,
Million,
Hundred,
Million,
Whatever raindrops falling on the earth again all at the same time.
And then it's much easier when you have a Buddha field to return to the ocean.
And like I said,
That ocean is God,
Is godliness.
And it might seem that the world is coming towards an end,
In several ways it is.
There are things that are ending and there's new things beginning in this life and in the next life.
But maybe there will become a time where the earth may not be able to support mankind anymore.
Or mankind might destroy the earth in such a way that it can't support,
Right?
Or won't support us.
But you can tell if there's a strong Buddha field around that it's getting closer,
That something drastic could happen,
Or might happen.
And God is foreseeing this and sent out his messengers and helped certain people to become enlightened.
And hopefully those enlightened people saw the light and in a way are returning their love and helping everybody else along on their path to becoming Buddhas themselves.
In order to create this Buddha field,
We must work with everyone individually on a different level.
Everyone is at a different point in their life.
Some are more asleep than others,
Some are more awake than others.
Those that meditate a lot and love meditation and have devoted their lives into meditations,
They may be at the point where they're like,
One more straw added to the camel's back will break the camel's back.
And that's what's needed in some people's cases and in other people's cases much more.
So if you could imagine yourself as a match,
And you strike the match and you light it.
If the match burns all the way down to the end of its journey,
Then at the end it extinguishes itself and the light is over,
The match's life is over.
But if you ever notice that if you get a match and you put it close to another match that's not lit,
The two matches don't even have to touch.
They just get close to each other and the next one will light up.
And that's what we're trying to do when I say create a Buddha field.
To get you closer to people,
You don't have to be physically close to them,
But your hearts have to be close.
This journey from the mind to the heart through whatever chakra system you believe in or whatever system you have a potion in,
There are many different several systems.
There's Zen,
There's Sufism,
There's Buddhism,
There's Tantra,
There's so many different approaches.
My approach was the straw that broke the camel's back for me was Tantra.
And Tantra to me is one of the most beautiful religions because in a way to a tantrika there's really no such thing as sin.
Everything is virtue.
Everything is good.
Because if you use something as a tool to get you to the point like anger,
If you go into your anger,
If you observe the anger while it's trying to absorb your body and take over your consciousness,
You'll find that behind the anger,
If you can focus on it enough,
That that anger turns into compassion.
And that's just one example,
Right?
There are so many paths and so many ways to approach this thing.
And that's the beauty of it because everybody's just a little bit different,
Right?
Everybody is a unique individual soul and your journey might be a little different.
In fact,
What might happen is you may create your own path.
You might follow others for a certain way and then it's like climbing a mountain.
You get kind of towards the top of the mountain and there might be some brush that you have to clear away in the trees before you can get beyond the tree line and get up to the top of the mountain.
Following that path is not egotistic.
They say there's like super highways to the top of the mountain,
But that's not for everybody.
Some people like the super pathways and the big wide trails leading all the way up and they don't have to carve anything.
But those are obedient followers.
Those that are more rebellious,
Those that are more adventuresome might want to carve their own path.
It might be easier for them than to follow the super highway.
Who knows,
Right?
So back to the match.
So if I lit a match and in the daylight,
The light on the match,
All I can see is its own light.
That's all I can see,
That it radiates its own light.
The Buddha called nirvana extinguishing the light,
Basically putting out a light source is the actual term for what nirvana stands for.
But at nighttime,
You might need that light.
But when you're awakened,
When you've come home,
When you've completed the journey from innocence back to innocence again,
To a second innocence,
When you've completed that journey,
Everything is light.
You're illuminated by more than just the own light that shined while your match was lit.
And this happens before you die.
So in a way,
A certain death happens when you become enlightened.
The death of the ego,
The death of stress,
Anxiety,
The death of knowing what time is.
Once you become enlightened,
The sense of time is crazy.
It can pull on you a little bit,
But it never pulls you off your center.
Once you're enlightened,
You've made the jump from the horizontal line of time,
From past to future,
Right in the middle between those moments of past and future is the present moment.
And right in that second,
That small,
Small,
Small space,
The miracle happens.
You make the jump to the vertical.
And then the vertical is basically a never ending journey.
It's like a lot of happening happens before you become enlightened.
You'll notice all these things going around in your life,
All these synchronicities,
All these beautiful things happen and happen and happen.
And after enlightenment,
It's like,
Okay,
What now?
What next?
But so much more is ready to happen because basically you're just born.
Now you have eyes.
Now you can see.
You can disconcern the truth from reality.
The illusions end and an awakening happens.
And when that awakening happens,
So many things dawn on you.
And I don't want to share too much of it with everybody because everyone's enlightenment is going to be a little bit different because we're all unique individuals.
My enlightenment that happened to me through Tantra could be way different than the enlightenment or the Zen enlightenment of Hijuko or Doujin or any of the Zen masters that believed in Southern enlightenment.
So we're trying to create a Buddha field.
And the more people we can get involved in this and into the groove of meditating and sharing compassion and being loving and just basically shining as beautiful people,
The more people we have like that,
The easier it will be for us to make a Buddha field,
To make it so that millions of others can enjoy this moment and this gathering that we're putting together.
And don't let that scare you.
It's not like revelations or anything in the Bible.
It's just that the life of the earth may be like the match getting down towards the end.
And it's up to us whether we want to be enlightened before death happens so we can enjoy it and share those things with everybody else on the earth.
Because if it happens and then you die physically and that's the end,
You can't share it with everybody.
Nobody will know you were enlightened.
Which takes me to one of my favorite Sufi stories.
The once was a king,
A very generous,
Wise king.
And every week he would take his chariot and go through the marketplaces in his village and he would hand out coins to the little children and to the innocent,
Old,
Older looking people.
And they would get these gold coins and they'd be so happy.
And the king loved giving.
He was a very giving,
Generous king.
Anyway,
There was a clever man who thought that he would like to have one of those gold coins.
So the first thing he did is he tried to dress up as a little kid and that didn't work.
The king recognized him right away and said,
Okay,
No gold coin for you.
So then he dressed up as an old person.
And the king recognized him again,
Even in older looking clothes and makeup and everything.
The king said,
Oh,
I recognize you,
You crafty fool.
No gold coin for you.
So anyway,
The king kept recognizing this clever man over and over and over.
And the guy tried hundreds of times to fool the king into giving him the gold coin.
But the king recognized every single time the clever man's identity.
So anyway,
What happened was the clever man then was on the street and he saw the king coming in his chariot handing out gold coins.
And there was a casket open for an undertaker who was selling caskets.
There was a casket open by the side of the road.
So the clever man ran.
He jumped inside the casket,
Folded his arms and pretended he was dead.
Okay,
So the king saw this and he looked at the clever man and he threw a gold coin at him and he grabbed the gold coin and he was happy.
But the king said to him,
No gold coin for you until you die.
Once you're dead,
You get the gold coin.
So the gold coin represents enlightenment.
And the king represented God,
A very loving,
Caring God that always gives to the innocent and the people that are deserving in the world.
But if you're clever,
If you're vindictive,
If you're cunning,
You don't get the gold coin.
It doesn't happen,
Not until you die.
So like that match burning all the way down to the end,
You're not going to know.
I mean,
It'll be too late to share anything once you're gone.
So why not try to take advantage of this moment?
Stop being clever,
Stop being vindictive,
Stop trying to be what you're not,
Let the ego dissolve and just learn to meditate,
Enjoy life,
Shine as bright as you can and devour yourself into this love and into this essence.
Like I said,
For me,
It was Tantra,
For you,
It could be Zen,
It could be Sufism,
It could be Christianity,
Who knows?
There are so many different paths.
And whether it leads to the top of the mountain or not,
You won't know until you try.
And maybe the person who's teaching you the religion or whatever you're studying to get you to this point,
Maybe they know a little bit,
But maybe they've never been to the top of the mountain.
Maybe they've climbed up to the tree tops and saw all that brush and said,
Okay,
That's the end of the journey.
They say,
Okay,
Well,
Life doesn't go on beyond this brush right here.
If you have the insight and the knowledge and the yearning inside of you to go and clear those trees and find your way to the top of the mountain,
Once you get to the top of the mountain,
Everything changes.
You'll see the beauty of life and you'll see the beauty in all the others around you.
You won't be able to see those things till you climb to the top though.
You can take it for others' words,
But that's not your journey.
That's not your experience.
And if it's not experienced,
The truth becomes a lie.
If someone just tells you the truth and you just believe it,
Then it becomes a lie.
Because truth has to be experienced at first for you to know it.
To really know it,
You have to experience it.
Anyway,
Thank you guys for joining me.
