In our day to day lives we're often looking for happiness outside of ourselves.
We believe that if we do this or achieve that or set a plan and work towards our goals that we'll feel happy and even though we feel a sense of achievement it's not long before we start reaching or grasping for our next plan to make us happy again.
This hands over a lot of power to other people and things outside of ourselves as our happiness becomes contingent on achievement.
In this meditation we'll take some time to return to being rather than doing.
A brief practice to help bring you home to this moment,
To help you rest in your own presence without needing to do or be anything else.
So taking a few slow deep breaths,
Just getting comfortable and when you're ready gently closing your eyes.
So taking a few deep breaths,
Just getting comfortable and when you're ready gently closing your eyes.
Bringing your mind back to this moment.
Feeling yourself sitting here,
Just taking a few deep breaths and as And when you're ready,
Gently closing your eyes.
Bringing your mind back to this moment.
Feeling yourself sitting here.
Letting all of your thoughts fall away.
Just feeling your whole body breathing.
And with each breath,
Just letting go a little.
Letting yourself settle into your body.
And settle into this moment.
Letting go of the need to do anything.
To be anywhere.
Or to be anything other than yourself.
Just simply being.
And perhaps bringing a gentle smile to your face.
Inviting a sense of warmth.
And a gentle smile.
A happiness for no reason.
And allowing that smile to send warmth and ease throughout your body.
Just resting in your own presence.
And perhaps placing your hand over your heart.
Feeling the gentle warm pressure of your hand.
And allowing the warmth of your hand to soften and soothe your heart.
Perhaps rubbing your heart just gently.
As a simple reminder that you are here and present with yourself.
And allowing the warmth of your hand to soften and soothe your whole body.
Allowing yourself to feel relaxed and comforted by the light of your own presence.
Loving yourself from the inside out.
And just spending a few more moments savouring the sense of inner connection and inner warmth.
With each in-breath inviting the comfort and warmth of your own presence to soothe your mind and body.
And when you're ready,
In your own good time,
Taking a few more breaths and gently returning to your day.
Namaste.
