Let's have some fun with diaphragmatic breathing, also known as belly breathing or abdominal breathing! This awesome technique involves giving your attention to the diaphragm, a cool muscle in your belly. Get ready to feel the magic as it encourages a complete exchange of oxygen, slows down your heartbeat, and even brings down or stabilizes your blood pressure. Here's how to dive into the world of diaphragmatic breathing: Place one hand on your upper chest and the other on your belly, right below those rib cages. Now, take a slow and steady breath in through your nose, allowing the air to travel deeply towards your lower belly. Watch your belly hand rise while your chest hand stays still. It's like a belly balloon inflating!

Transcript

Balloon belly inhale.

Sitting comfortably or leaning back,

Ideally with your eyes closed,

Imagining you expand your whole body like a balloon.

On the inhale,

Through your nose,

Expanding your belly,

Your chest,

Your throat,

Your whole torso like a balloon.

And then a slow exhale through your mouth,

Releasing air slowly like a balloon releases air.

Inhaling,

Expanding your whole body like a balloon.

And then a slow relaxed exhale through your mouth at your own pace,

Always as deeply,

As expansively as possible.

On the inhale like a balloon and a slow exhale at your own pace,

As slowly as possible.

And continuing this for as long as comfortably possible.

And sense how you're feeling now.

Thank you for practicing balloon belly inhale.
