In this empowering breathwork meditation, you’ll practice calming horizontal breathing as you journey through each of the chakras, or energy centers. At each one, you’ll repeat affirmations to connect with your growing little one as well as your own inner power, peace, and strength. You can also use this practice after your child is born or with another loved one in mind. As a reminder, please consult with your doctor before practicing breathwork.

In today's practice,

We'll breathe through each of the chakras from your root to your crown.

We'll repeat an affirmation at each chakra three times,

While taking nice deep breaths.

The first time you say the affirmation,

You'll say I,

Just as you normally would.

And the second time,

You'll replace I with you,

Referring to your little one.

And finally,

You'll say we on the third time,

Connecting the two of you,

Sending them light and love,

And strengthening the bond between you.

So get comfortable,

Make sure you feel nice and supported,

And go ahead and close your eyes when you're ready.

And let's start to deepen the breath a little,

Start to slow it down,

Breathing in and out through the nose.

And if it's more comfortable and helps you slow the pace,

You can also exhale like you were breathing through a straw,

Like this.

And see if you can breathe a little deeper into the bottom of the belly,

Feeling it expand as you breathe in.

And then rather than your chest and shoulders rising vertically on the inhale,

See if you can feel your ribs expanding slightly outward horizontally.

Inhale,

Feeling the belly,

Ribs expanding.

Exhale,

Ribs contract,

Belly falls.

Good.

We are going to continue these nice deep horizontal breaths throughout the practice.

So take just a few moments to keep finding a depth and pace that's comfortable.

Nothing forced,

Just nice,

Full,

Deep breaths.

Now place one hand over your heart and one hand over your growing belly.

And you can bring your focus first to your root chakra,

Which is at the base of the spine.

You'll breathe in,

I am safe,

And breathe out,

I am grounded.

Or you can simply breathe at your own pace.

Ready?

I am safe,

I am grounded.

You are safe,

You are grounded.

We are safe,

We are grounded.

Moving up to the sacral now,

Just below the belly button.

Inhale,

I can create.

Exhale,

With unlimited potential.

You can create with unlimited potential.

We can create with unlimited potential.

Focusing now on the solar plexus at the upper part of the stomach.

I am confident,

I am strong.

You are confident,

You are strong.

We are confident,

We are strong.

Moving up to your heart,

I am loved,

I am loved.

You are loved,

You are loved.

We are loved,

We are loved.

Throat chakra,

It is safe to speak my truth.

It is safe to speak your truth.

It is safe to speak our truth.

Third eye at your forehead,

I deeply trust the truth in my heart.

You deeply trust the truth in your heart.

We deeply trust the truth in our hearts.

Crown at the top of your head.

I am fully supported,

I am always guided.

You are fully supported,

You are always guided.

We are fully supported,

We are always guided.

You can return to normal breathing now and open your eyes when you are ready.
