Hello and welcome to Wise Puppy Meditations.

Thank you for joining me for this brief check-in.

Wherever you are,

Whatever you are doing,

Whether you're at work or at school or in your commute or hanging around at home,

We can take this moment to let our day up until this point catch up to us.

All of our thoughts and all of our feelings will take this time to slow down,

To check in,

To just be present and observe the workings of our being without getting lost in it or reacting to it.

We can start by touching base with the mind,

Observing the quality and the content of our thoughts at this moment,

Connecting with the fact that we are the observer of our thoughts,

Seeing our thoughts as helpful and connected to our being but not the sum of who we are,

Getting curious about what our thoughts are doing.

Are they rapid and energized?

Maybe they're slow.

Maybe they're planning for tomorrow or ruminating on something that happened yesterday.

And we can ground ourselves by then bringing our attention to the body.

First,

Bringing our attention to the breath,

Just noticing where in our bodies we experience ourselves breathing.

We can notice if there are any areas of tension,

Maybe in the shoulders,

Maybe in the jaw.

I tend to notice that I hold tension in my eyebrows.

So if you're like me,

Then we can collectively with an exhale,

Use this time as an opportunity to relax those parts of ourselves that tend to hold stress.

And as we observe the body,

We can notice any tendencies towards judgment.

Oh,

How we have been conditioned to judge the body,

Just this beautiful,

Helpful vessel through which we get to experience the world.

And as we observe that judgment,

We can simply label it as more thoughts and then just bring it back to right here,

Right now.

We can then check in with our emotions,

Bringing some curiosity to how we feel right now.

Knowing that however you feel in this moment is this moment is perfectly okay.

Joy is perfect.

Anger is perfect.

Sadness is perfect.

Emotions are neutral and they can tell us a lot about ourselves and our environment.

We can get curious about how our thoughts and our body and our emotions interact with one another,

How they impact one another,

And then we can drop the practice.

Knowing that at any time during the day,

We can check in with ourselves.

We can be present.

We can simply allow ourselves to be exactly as we are in this moment without judgment,

Without getting lost.

We can be curious and graceful.

We can simply be the witness.

This is a gentle reminder to stay in the moment throughout the day by not being judgmental. It is a quick meditation to reground ourselves if we find that we are having negative thoughts about ourselves or the job we are working on.
