My sweet dear one,

I know.

There is this tightness in your chest,

As if the weight of the world is sitting on you.

It makes you feel like running away,

But your legs feel like they are stuck in a mire.

I want you to know that you are like the moon.

Your light will guide you as you navigate out of this frightening storm.

You have the power to calm waters,

Still them.

Calm your breathing.

Be gentle with your racing thoughts.

Be available now.

There is nothing you need to do this minute but to be present.

I am here with you.

You are not alone.

Not only am I with you,

But the entire universe is enveloping you with the best of wishes for life,

For growth,

For love.

That steady rhythm you hear,

That beating of the ancestral drum.

It is your heart.

It is strong,

My love.

It is full.

It is willing.

It is able.

It follows the hymn sheet of your thoughts.

Give it a calm one,

A beautiful one.

We are grateful for its hard work and loyalty,

Even though we often take it for granted.

Breathe deep and give thanks.

As you fill the rooms of your mind with beautiful,

Magnificent,

Inspiring thoughts,

You will find that your heart will follow suit.

You are doing better than you think.

Soon you will see the water finding more and more stillness.

Let us breathe together.

Breathe.

Hold.

Hold it for as long as you can.

Slowly release your breath.

Let us do that again.

Breathe.

Hold it.

Slowly release your breath.

Observe how the water is settling to the rise and fall of your chest.

No longer rapid and short,

But smooth,

Long and controlled.

Allow as much oxygen as you can to fill your lungs.

Allow as much life to be drawn into you.

When you are feeling overwhelmed,

Don't deny yourself what you need most.

That is more oxygen,

Not less.

Be here in this glorious moment.

Be present with me.

Give yourself a gift of loving kindness in this moment.

Life itself will reward you for seeking it.

The darkness.

The unrest.

It comes for a reason.

And guess what?

The night must end someday.

Sometime.

The storm.

It does pass.

It has to.

Always remember that like the moon at night,

There is light available to you.

You are supported.

Look how beautiful your light and love shimmers like a thousand stars upon the surface of the water.

Let your inner light guide you back to shore.

You are safe.

You are whole.

You have arrived in one piece.

Take it in.

This beauty.

Look at the white sand between your toes.

It is soft.

And it takes the shape of your foot as the water covers your ankles.

The breeze is clean.

You can almost taste the salty air.

Tell me,

What can you see?

Now look at the water again.

Isn't it beautiful?

The water.

It moves for you,

My love.

But also,

Guess what?

You move it.

This nature.

This our nature.

It is our nature.

We are one.

Tu kupamoja.

That means we are together in Keswahili.

Be gentle with yourself,

Dear one.
