Welcome,
This is Kuri.
Today we are talking about how to live a mindful life.
According to one research,
43% of people in Britain stopped practicing mindfulness right after learning.
32% practiced from time to time,
While 25% practiced regularly.
So my question to you is,
If you have a mindfulness practice,
How often do you rush your mornings and do things without being conscious?
And how often do you take a break during your day to check in with yourself?
As different statistics show,
Not a lot of people continue living their life mindfully.
And some people don't even know what mindfulness is.
Can you imagine?
And then people are complaining that they are stressed because they don't make their health a priority.
When you practice living your life mindfully,
You can help so many people in the world.
And I'm here to share a few tips and how I live my life mindfully.
Before we begin,
Let's take a deep breath.
So to live a mindful life,
It starts with owning your morning.
And to own your morning,
First step is to wake up 15 to 30 minutes early.
And don't try to use your phone.
Have some kind of purpose every single day.
Set some goals.
I like to write down a list of 3 to 5 important tasks that will help me move forward towards my vision.
And I try to finish these tasks before I do anything else.
I like to call this your GPS.
Because without this,
You get lost in your day.
And then you don't feel satisfied because you were doing things that were not the highest priority.
The next thing that I do,
I like to call this one minute breathers.
I know.
I know you're busy.
But one minute,
Nobody's that busy.
Let's say you don't even have one minute out of 1440 minutes.
Simply just take three deep breaths and do a little check in with yourself.
And ask yourself,
Am I fulfilling my everyday purpose?
Taking these micro breaks will reduce your anxiety,
Calm you down and keep you on track.
You will start feeling more in your body.
So start doing this from today.
Next one is my favorite.
And that is watch what you consume.
And I would say that I don't follow this all the time.
Because for me sometimes,
I feel that it's a challenge.
Because talking about consumption,
Either it's food or content you watch or read.
First let's talk about food.
My rule is choosing the best option that I have in my kitchen.
If it's a cooked meal,
I would eat that.
But if I only have chips in my house or a cookie in my house,
Then I would just eat that.
So you see what is the best option for you right now in your kitchen and go for it without feeling guilty.
Now don't you start buying chips and pop every time and use this as your excuse.
Now talking about content,
I like to consume something that will nourish my soul,
That will help me to become better instead of watching news the whole day,
Watching something that is disturbing.
Because what you are consuming,
That is also programming your mind.
So when you are watching similar content every day,
You are learning those behaviors.
You start to see your life from those beliefs.
And when you repeat that on a daily basis,
That's what you're going to see in your life.
That's why self-awareness is a beautiful skill.
So keep improving that and keep working on that.
Next one is meditate.
There is not only one reason that we should meditate.
We spend most of our lives in our head,
Revisiting the past memories and entertaining the future scenarios.
But the biggest fantasy is not in the past or the future.
It is here,
In the present.
Meditation is a tool,
A skill that makes you more aware of your thoughts and your life.
So take at least 5 to 10 minutes in your day to sit with yourself,
Meditate and find more stillness in your life.
There are a number of mindfulness meditations on my profile.
So listen to one of them daily and see how your life becomes more in control and more in flow.
Next one is eating without watching anything.
Personally I'm still working on this one.
Growing up,
I always watched something while eating.
But after my spiritual awakening,
I became aware of this bad habit.
And I also notice that my mind tends to go crazy with thoughts.
So this is what I do when I eat and I want you to try as well.
Take a pause when you see food.
Say a prayer.
Be grateful.
Then do a little check in with yourself.
Ask yourself,
On a scale of 1 to 10,
How hungry am I feeling?
Sometimes we tend to eat more than we need when we are not mindful.
So making these little changes can help you become more mindful.
Apart from all these tips and practices,
Either you go out in nature or you drive your car.
Pay attention to each move,
Each detail of your environment.
And remember to start small to avoid the overwhelm.
Start with owning your morning or taking one minute breathers or whatever you feel is easier for you.
Once you start making progress,
You would want to do more.
And then add up a few more practices in your routine.
If you enjoyed this talk,
I would really appreciate if you would leave a review.
Alright see you next time.
This is Gurry,
Sending you peace and love.
