I personally feel that for a lot of us,

Moments of stillness may seem like a luxury.

But what if I told you that embracing silence could unlock that fulfillment and success in your life?

Welcome to another episode of Meditate,

Manifest and Grow.

I'm Guri and today we are talking about 5 reasons to sit in silence.

When I started my meditation practice,

I could only sit for 10 minutes.

And that was a lot for me,

Because sitting for 10 minutes not doing anything was overwhelming.

But through all these years,

Sitting with my thoughts or in silence has changed me and brought me so much inner peace and joy.

I still have some afflictions and desires that pull me from my practice,

But I guess this is called being human,

Right?

Imagine taking a few minutes each day to sit in silence,

Away from distractions,

As you close your eyes and focus on your breath.

This moment of silence isn't about just resting your body.

It's about nourishing your soul.

It's about coming back to your temple,

Your body,

To connect with your body.

But why sitting alone or in silence is so powerful?

Number 1.

Quieting external noise allows your thoughts to settle.

It offers insights that are normally hidden by our daily chaos.

We have so many things happening in our mind,

In our inner world and outer world.

That is a lot of chaos.

So if you try to find answer in a crowd or if you try to find that one certain person in those,

Let's say 50,

000,

70,

000 people,

You might not be able to find it or it'll take you years to find that person or maybe not years,

But maybe months.

But once you calm yourself down,

Which means you filter down your options.

So in that big crowd,

You keep filtering down your options until you reach to a place where you can clearly see what is in front of you and then you can choose to find that insight.

Number 2.

Silence offers a chance to reconnect with your hopes,

Dreams,

Values,

And your true purpose.

This is so true because when I started meditating in the beginning,

When I started spending time with myself,

I started gaining clarity.

Before that,

I was lost.

I was always distracted with options that I want to do this,

I want to do that.

So many different things.

But once I started becoming more aware,

More quiet,

Sitting with my thoughts,

I found more clarity.

I had an opportunity to see that vision,

See my dreams on a deeper level.

Number 3.

Do I even have to tell you this?

That it helps in reducing stress levels and it also promotes your overall well-being.

And most of the time,

That's why people meditate.

They want to reduce their stress and anxiety and just want to have a better quality of life.

If this is your goal,

That's perfect.

You can still use silence to manifest that intention.

Alright,

Number 4.

Stillness allows creativity to flourish without external distractions.

I can't explain how powerful this is.

Every time I am quiet,

I finish my meditation,

I am so creative.

I have so many ideas and a lot of the time,

While I am meditating,

All the best ideas probably regarding my meditations,

Regarding my videos or maybe my coaching,

My lessons in my courses,

Came through that practice.

Came while I was meditating.

But most of the time,

What you want to do is,

At least that's what happens with me,

Is I want to just write it down.

Because I don't want to miss that chance.

I don't want to miss that download.

But this is also something that you will learn in meditation,

That how to have more discipline.

You don't care about those ideas and thoughts.

If after meditation,

If you still remember that,

You can write that down.

And that's what I try to do,

Even though sometimes they're calling for my attention.

But I've trained myself and my body and my mind to stay still,

Stay in that silence.

If I'm sitting for 10 minutes,

20 minutes,

30 minutes,

And so on,

I'm going to be there.

So if you want to increase your creativity,

Or if you do something that requires you to be more creative,

I think stillness can really help you.

Number five,

When you turn into your inner stillness,

It amplifies your ability to manifest your dreams into reality.

If you're following my podcast for a while,

You know how passionate I am about manifestation to create your dream life consciously.

And this inner stillness helped me to find that clarity.

This inner stillness,

This meditation practice has helped me to go deeper into my subconscious mind.

And this is something you also should know.

If you are manifesting,

If you're using affirmations,

If you're using any kind of manifestation practice,

You have to go deeper in your mind to influence your subconscious mind.

If your mind is not quiet,

It's hard for that information to go in your mind.

So once your mind is clear,

Like water,

If you throw a stone in it,

Which is your information or whatever you're trying to manifest your vision,

It will go directly at the bottom.

This reminded me of one example I read in one of the mindfulness books a few years ago.

It's a metaphor for meditation.

Imagine your mind is like a jar or a glass.

And in that glass,

There is water and there is also mud or sand.

If you keep moving your glass,

Which means your mind,

Your body,

The mud will not settle.

Once you bring that glass to stillness,

Slowly and gradually,

You will see that all the grains of that sand are settling down at the bottom.

All right,

Now you have all the reasons to sit in silence and spend some time in solitude on a daily basis.

And thank you to everyone for sharing your experience by leaving a comment under the episode.

This also really helps my show to reach to a wider audience.

That's it for today and I'm sending you peace and love.

Thank you Guri! I agree with each of these reasons and have experienced them myself. I also am tempted to write creative ideas down, so sometimes I dedicate a meditation to just that - sitting with a notebook and capturing the ideas as they come. Peace and love! 🤍
