Hi all,
For today's practice we're going to want to be lying down in an extended butterfly pose,
So bringing the soles of the feet to touch,
Our knees bent,
And with the outside of our legs facing the ground.
And you want to lie down on your back and gently close your eyes,
Stepping into your power of choice,
Deciding where your arms lie,
Allowing your body and your breath to make that decision for you,
Letting go of control in the mind.
If you're feeling a sense of wanting to be a little more open in a space where you're ready to receive,
Then maybe sending your arms out long and out wide into a T with your palms faced up,
Letting the universe know that you are ready and you are open to receive all that is meant for you.
And if your body is craving a little more safety,
Comfort,
And protection,
Maybe bringing your hands on top of your chest or your belly,
Not overthinking this decision,
Just letting it come to you,
Trusting yourself,
Knowing you're capable of making decisions.
And then connecting down to the breath,
Allowing your face to be light,
Releasing any tightness in your jaw,
Releasing the tongue from the roof of your mouth,
Uncrinkling your forehead,
And allowing your eyes and eyelids to be light,
Taking the time to settle into the pose,
Turning all of your attention inward,
Exploring how this makes you feel,
Any sensations that may be arising in your inner thigh,
Your groin,
Your hip,
Maybe sending your breath to those areas that may be feeling a bit of tightness,
Tension,
Or discomfort,
Finding the power in your breath,
Knowing that it's capable of transforming any discomfort into comfort.
We store so many emotions in our hips,
We get locked in there,
But when we sit in this pose,
We're opening ourselves up,
We're letting go,
We're choosing to acknowledge our feelings,
Our emotions,
Our trapped sensations.
In order to receive,
We first have to let go,
So keep using your breath to let the tension go,
Keep exploring the depths of this pose,
Maybe observing where the sensations are traveling to,
Acknowledging that energy is contagious,
So if we're feeling discomfort in our hips,
It may travel up into our heart center and our chest,
It may impact our breath,
So without using shame and only using curiosity,
Travel with your breath,
Where is it taking you?
Your breath is your guide,
Be open to this guidance,
This direction,
Allow yourself to be open to receive any messages,
Any signs or signals,
Connecting to your breath,
Reminding yourself of that safety within,
Allow any emotions to rise and then fall,
The same as your breath,
Acknowledging that we are never stuck,
We are never stagnant,
We are forever flowing,
Slowly deepening the breath,
Signaling your mind and body for change,
Moving with intention and grace,
Bringing the soles of the feet onto the ground and allowing the inner thighs to touch,
Maybe rocking them side to side,
Slowly waking up your hip,
Staying connected to your breath and then gently bringing your inner thigh or gently bringing your thighs into your chest,
Embracing yourself in a hug,
Thanking yourself for being open,
For seeing yourself for who you are,
Embracing yourself in all that you are,
All that you have been and all that you will be,
Thank you for joining me,
Namaste.
