Just stop whatever your mind has been busy with,

Come to rest.

You can picture a pendulum gradually slowing down until it comes to a stop.

Feel back into your body,

Grounded,

Sink into this moment,

Come to rest,

Stop.

And if there are any persistent thoughts,

Anything nagging at you,

Gently let it float off in a bubble,

In a hot air balloon,

Or like a leaf floating down a stream,

Whatever image helps you to let go.

And return to the present moment,

To your breath,

To your sacred word.

Simply be here now,

In the quiet space that remains when you've let go.

And now release even more into letting be,

Letting go of any attempt to control your life,

Other people,

The world,

Yourself,

And even this time of quiet prayer,

Letting go of trying to make it work,

Or make yourself quieter.

All of those are the doer,

The subtle meddling of the ego,

Trying to manipulate and control.

All of that we let go and ease into letting be.

Even if there's a persistence of thoughts in your mind that you keep having to let go of again and again,

Let that be.

This is about a deep release into allowing ourselves to be,

Just as we are,

Lumpy,

Bumpy,

Noisy,

Lost,

Letting all of that be,

Knowing that we're held,

And that God sees us as infinitely precious,

As who we are.

And as we open into letting be,

We start to be able to sense that in our beings,

That deep holding okayness of our lives.

And so now we allow ourselves to rest in that holding embrace,

In that deep trust that all is held,

That all shall be well.

Let go of even thinking about that and just rest here.

And if you find your mind getting caught up again in anything,

Again you just cycle through these,

Stop,

Let go,

Let be,

Rest.

Rest in this grace of this given moment.

Stop.

Let go,

Let it float off like a bubble.

Let be whatever is.

And rest in the embrace of the one who holds everything as it is.

I'll now leave some time of silence where you keep practicing this and coming to rest again and again in this ultimately trustworthy holding space we've been talking about for years because we cannot wait.
