Hello,

I'm Dr.

Graham Dexter.

I've just joined Insight Timer and I want to introduce myself to you,

The listener,

And the Insight Timer community.

I believe the course that I've put together is for everyone,

Everyone that is,

That has ever had a problem,

Faced a dilemma,

Or wanted to create a better future for themselves.

I call it 10 Secrets of Counselling Yourself Well.

As it sounds,

It's 10 short lessons in a systematically engineered way to take yourself through problems and difficulties,

And to develop or create a better future,

And also opportunities that will serve you well.

The course takes the listener through a three-stage process with exercises,

Short illuminating case stories,

And thoughtful reflections for you to ponder upon.

I'm hopeful that in sharing this short course with you,

I can continue to be helpful as I grow older,

Gracefully,

And that you can take away some thoughts,

Some tools,

Some insights that you may or may not find helpful to yourself.

Now,

As an add-on,

I know some people struggle with problems,

Also have trouble sleeping.

So,

I decided to end this short introduction with this sleep aid,

Which I've found infinitely helpful myself when my mind is working overtime and sleep evades me in the middle of the night.

Firstly,

As you get comfortable as possible,

Then,

Disciplining yourself to be very,

Very still.

Concentrate on your breathing.

Notice how my voice distracts you away from concentrating on your breaths.

Even when I stop talking,

Your thoughts will distract you from your concentration.

It's of no consequence.

As soon as you notice that you've stopped focusing on your breathing,

Simply return your focus to noticing your breathing.

This will happen over and over again,

Until you will be fast asleep.
