Welcome to your body.

My name is Grace,

And I'm a dance movement therapist and embodied grief guide.

And I'm here to help you access the anger that's related to your grief,

And give it the space to move and get free.

Anger is one of those parts of grief that gets very little attention in most places,

And yet is vital to process.

This is a movement and meditation practice.

So take your time to get settled and make sure you have plenty of space around your body.

You can be seated or standing,

You can be lying down.

Whatever helps you connect to your body and feel present.

If it feels okay,

You can close your eyes.

And if not,

You can keep a soft gaze.

Start to breathe mindfully.

Feeling the earth beneath your body.

The stubborn support that will not move,

No matter what.

The earth can hold your grief,

Your anger,

Your love,

Your joy.

So really feel it beneath you.

Start to tune into your grief and where it lives in your body.

And this might be one place,

It might be many places.

Wherever it is,

I invite you to place a hand over that part of your body.

And know that even if you don't know the name for the sensation yet.

If a sensation is calling you,

That's exactly right.

And maybe this grief that you are touching is the anger.

And maybe the anger is in a different part of your body.

If it feels different than your grief.

I invite you to place your other hand there.

And breathe into your hands.

And your next exhale letting out any sound that calls to you.

One more time.

Feeling some space start to open up.

And letting the anger move you intuitively.

Maybe there's a rocking that wants to happen.

Maybe you want to punch some pillows.

Maybe you want to stand up and stomp or shake your anger is sacred.

This is your chance to move it out.

And really let it take up space.

Following your own sensations here.

Letting your body do what it wants to do.

Releasing any sound that wants to come.

Perhaps a yell,

A growl,

A moan,

A cry.

Doing your best to give your body permission to move as it needs to.

This is your time.

Nothing scary here.

Just a part of you.

Following your own pace.

Maybe your move quickly or slowly.

Maybe you change levels.

Coming to sit down or stand up or lie down.

However your anger needs to move is exactly right.

You might notice as you move that more feeling starts to come.

And let that express itself as it needs to.

Often times under anger is deep hurt.

Let yourself move that.

Safest thing you can do is give your body the chance to move what it feels.

Get to know the anger,

The grief,

The shadow.

Continuing to move intuitively and take up space.

Perhaps there is a spinal undulation that wants to happen.

Perhaps you open your mouth.

Whatever you're feeling,

Let it out of your body.

Following your inner guidance.

And as you're ready,

Coming to a self embrace,

Giving yourself a hug,

Wrapping your arms around your shoulders,

And letting yourself rock.

Breathing into anything that came up.

And thanking your body for holding you and for moving exactly as it needed to.

Thank you so much for joining me today.

Lots of love.
