Welcome to this mindfulness meditation recording which has been designed to help you sleep deeply and connect with a feeling of presence and peace.

The best place to listen is lying down in bed when you are ready to go to sleep,

As this recording will guide you into a deep restful sleep.

These techniques can help you to still your mind and clear away any worries or anxieties,

Allowing you to switch off and fall into a deep peaceful sleep every night.

Our minds are designed to think and our thoughts are perfectly natural,

But this recording will help you to almost go beyond your thoughts and allow your mind to become very still and quiet.

And before we start I encourage you to stay with my voice during this meditation,

But if you find your mind wandering,

Not to worry,

Simply acknowledge any thought without judgement and guide your awareness back to my voice.

And so I want to begin by guiding your awareness through each part of your body and as you become aware of each area,

Notice any sensations,

Any tension or tightness,

Or warmth or coolness,

Without judgement,

Simply be and observe the sensations and remain in the present moment.

And so as the music begins to fade away,

You can close your eyes softly and make yourself very comfortable and become aware now of the effect that gravity has on your body,

Drawing you down into your bed.

Notice any sensations where your body makes contact with the bed and stay in the moment.

Now begin to focus on your breathing,

Follow the flow of air as you inhale and exhale.

As you breathe in,

Feel the air flowing through your nose or mouth to the back of your throat and gradually expanding your lungs as they fill with air.

And as you breathe out,

Feel your body soften,

Releasing any tension and allow your body to feel more relaxed and more peaceful with every breath.

Just enjoy the simplicity of this moment.

Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest and stomach with each breath.

Be with each breath in the moment for its full duration,

Becoming aware of the subtle broadening of your chest and noticing how each breath affects your whole body.

And whenever you want to calm your mind,

Simply use your breathing to anchor yourself into the present moment.

Now I want you to imagine a blue healing light just hovering around the top of your head and I want you to know that this blue healing light can clear away any blocks or negativity or stress or tension.

And as you imagine it around the top of your head,

Sense it clearing away any negativity,

Any unwanted thoughts,

Any fears or blocks or negative imprints in your energy field.

Just imagine this pure blue light clearing away any tension or negative energy in your head.

Just focus on that for a moment until your mind becomes completely still and you feel very clear and centred.

And as this happens,

You can feel sleepier and more restful with not a care in the world.

Letting go.

And now I want you to imagine a wave of calmness and relaxation,

Starting at the tips of your toes,

Flowing slowly up to your ankles,

To your calves and thighs,

And up to your hips,

Gradually reaching your stomach and your chest,

And all the way up your back,

Moving slowly into your shoulders.

Relax.

Up into your neck and your face,

And into your head,

All the way up to the crown of your head.

Deeper relaxed.

And in this moment,

As you connect with yourself in this way,

You feel very safe and secure now,

As you become more aware of the energy field around your body,

Maybe sensing its vibration and colour.

And as you focus on your whole body and energy field,

Just acknowledge any feelings or sensations as they come into being and maybe pass by.

And you can feel sleepier and sleepier as any final traces of stress or tension just dissolve away,

Down through the bed and into the ground.

Just take a moment to pause for a while,

To enjoy this feeling of peace and calm.

You feel a deep sense of inner peace.

You feel a deep,

Deeper and deeper relaxed.

Deeper and deeper.

And now I would like you to picture a windmill in a peaceful rural setting,

Surrounded by wild flowers and lush green grass.

And it's a warm summer's evening,

And there is a cool breeze,

And the sun is beginning to set in the distance,

As it casts a golden glow across the landscape.

Take a moment to watch as the sails of the windmill slowly turn in the gentle summer breeze.

And in this place you feel very safe and secure,

And so peaceful now.

And as you take in the surroundings,

You become aware of the peaceful sounds around you,

The sounds of nature.

And you feel so relaxed and calm now,

Enjoying that feeling of being in the present moment.

And if any thoughts or distractions should come into your mind,

I want you to mentally place the thought onto one of the windmill's sails,

And watch as it gradually turns.

And as the sail moves around to its highest point,

The thought can gently drift off into the golden evening sky.

Just let it go,

And watch it disappear.

And any time you get an unwanted thought,

Or a distraction,

You can remember to do this,

To place the thought onto the windmill's sail,

And let it go.

And whenever you do this,

You will feel very calm and peaceful,

And centred and grounded.

And as you continue to watch the windmill's sails,

You become more deeply relaxed,

More peaceful,

And sleepy and tired.

Just allow yourself to let go,

So that you can feel completely at peace in this moment.

And I'll leave you for a short while,

Just to continue to focus on the windmill,

And let go of any thought,

So you become ever more peaceful and sleepier still.

And it's good to remember that all thoughts are like this,

They come into being,

And pass.

Just know that everything will pass,

And the ups and downs of life are just part of the journey.

And so any time that you need to clear your mind,

And fall into a deep sleep,

Just close your eyes and imagine the windmill,

And place any thoughts on the sails,

As they gently turn,

And then you can watch as they disappear off into the sky,

And up into the universe.

And when you observe your thoughts from a distance,

Your mind naturally becomes quieter and calmer,

And as you continue to drift deeper asleep,

You can allow these affirmations to wash over you,

And become absorbed into your consciousness.

Just allow these positive affirmations to resonate with you,

On a deep level,

And know that they will help you to sleep better,

Every night.

I am safe and protected as I go to sleep.

When my head touches the pillow,

I feel very sleepy.

I always sleep well at night.

And now you can drift away,

Into a deep sleep,

And the gentle sounds will continue to wash over you,

And make you feel sleepier and sleepier.

And all the subliminal suggestions to help you sleep well at night,

Will become absorbed into your consciousness.

And from now on,

You will look forward to going to bed at night.

And as soon as you get into bed,

And lay your head back on the pillow,

You will feel very sleepy and tired.

And you will soon drift down into a deep relaxing sleep.

And when you wake up in the morning,

You will feel completely refreshed and renewed after such a deep nourishing sleep.

And you awaken with a sense of peace and well-being.

And you will continue to nurture your ability to let go of unnecessary thoughts and tension.

And you will naturally drift into a deep sleep every night.

A deep,

Deep sleep.

And you can go to sleep now.
