Hi,
And welcome to this guided meditation for healing injury and illness My name is Rishi And I'll be guiding you through the session today.
I recommend you listen to this lying down,
But if you prefer sitting upright,
That's fine,
Too But either way Come and settle into that position now Get as comfortable as you can And when you're ready Close your eyes settle in and Bring the body to complete stillness And we'll begin the session With a simple breathing exercise that will help bring about a relaxation response through the nervous system And you can begin this breathing practice now take a deep breath in through the nose and fill the lungs and And as you exhale try to slow down the length of the exhale So that your exhale is longer than the inhale and begin breathing in that way deep breath in a long slow easy exhalation And on each exhale See if you can try and relax the body Allow the body to melt and to the surface upon which you're resting Deep breath in long slow relaxed breath out Continue this for a few more rounds good And just finishing that deliberate breath And when you're finished Allow the breath to come back to normal Completely passive or neutral breath Coming and going on its own Feeling the body nicely relaxed and the breath flowing normally again So you can begin to bring awareness to the site of injury or illness in the body And if you're dealing with multiple injuries or multiple sites of illness I recommend you choose just one And you can return to the others another time but for now Bring all of your awareness and focus to the site of injury or illness that you've chosen And begin to notice the sensations here and Pay close attention To whatever it is you find But being careful Not to get entangled with thoughts about the feelings You can notice any thoughts that may arise But let them go and stay with the feeling of the site Where you have injury or illness There may be obvious pain or discomfort Or perhaps the area is numb Have a look See what you find Continuing to feel more and more deeply into the region and it's normal that the mind may wander Your attention may go here or there But when you notice Lead it back to the place of injury or illness Continue to feel that part of the body More and more deeply bathe the region in your conscious awareness knowing that this consciousness and Healing intention Can do great good for the body The body thrives on conscious awareness so continue To shower the region in your conscious awareness and as you continue to do this You may find that more thoughts or images arise You can notice these But don't get entangled Come back to the feeling of the body and sometimes the thoughts or images that do arise May be completely irrelevant but other times They may offer insight or intuition around the cause or the cure Things you could do to avoid further injury Things you could do to help the healing process but again Try not to get caught up in these thoughts and images Should they arise?
Just stay with that fundamental feeling of the region pay attention observe Feel the sight of injury or illness Continue feeling this part of the body but begin to incorporate a more intentional breath now Take deeper breath in and a nice breath out As you continue feeling the body Now imagine as you breathe in That healing breath and life force is traveling to the site of your injury or illness And as you breathe out Feel that pain Discomfort or illness leaving the body So deep breath in,
Send the breath with your intention to that part of the body Breathe out the discomfort and continuing to breathe in this way And maybe you feel that really happening with the breath Or maybe you just imagine that's what's happening It doesn't matter Just enjoy the feeling of the healing breath coming in nourishing the site and breathing out all discomfort Feel the healing life force of the breath coming in traveling to the site nourishing and healing and Breathe out the discomfort Feel it leaving the body one more Deliberate breath in that way Good And now we'll just deepen this practice slightly It's essentially the same practice just holding the breath comfortably So the next time you breathe in Take a nice deep breath in Allow the breath to travel to the site and hold the breath Hold the breath and feel that part of the body you're working with For as long as you're comfortable But as soon as you need to breathe out do so and Feel that pain discomfort or illness leaving the body And as soon as you've breathed all the way out another deep breath in Fill the lungs,
Feel the site,
Hold the breath Relax the body Feel the site And eventually when you need to Breathing out Repeat this for a few more rounds with your intention Continuing to direct the breath to the part of the body that needs it and Feel that sensation of the breath nourishing the site Healing the site energy flows Where your attention goes That's good Then you can finish the round that you're on and once you've exhaled You can discontinue that breathing practice Allow the breath to come back to a natural automatic breath But continue holding awareness at the site of injury or illness Notice the sensations there Not trying to judge or label Stay with the feeling Stay with the sensation And now becoming aware of the whole body Whole body awareness From head to toe Allowing the whole body To be filled with your conscious awareness And then taking your attention out Especially to the fingers and toes and begin wiggling the fingers and toes as we come to the end of this healing session Moving the fingers and toes gently and perhaps you'd like to take a deeper breath in and out And begin turning the wrists and the ankles if appropriate some deeper breaths in and out and beginning to stretch through the arms and legs Or in any way that's comfortable for you and if you would like to You can rub the palms together quickly Generate some heat in the hands and once you feel the warmth in the hands Bringing the warm palms up to cover the eyes Open the eyes looking into the dark space of the palms receiving the warmth take a deep breath in and Then slowly uncovering the eyes Opening the eyes Aware of your surroundings.
