Start by sitting comfortably.
You can close your eyes if you like.
Be however you feel most at ease.
One way of meditating involves repetition of certain phrases.
These words are a vehicle which help us to pay attention differently.
Rather than concentrating on the breath,
We focus on the repetition of the phrase.
The focus of this meditation is around gratitude,
Giving,
Generosity,
Care,
Kindness.
If you want to,
Place one hand on your stomach and the other hand over your heart.
The first recipient is ourselves.
Repeat the words.
May I be safe.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I live with ease.
May I be safe.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I live with ease.
The mind is likely to play tricks on us.
If it does,
That's okay.
Just call it back to your own repetition.
May I be safe.
May I be happy.
May I be healthy.
May I live with ease.
Next,
See if you can call somebody to mind who has helped you in your life.
Somebody who has supported you along your journey.
A mentor.
Maybe this someone you have never met,
But they inspired you.
Bring that person to mind now.
Offering the phrases of loving kindness to them.
May you be happy.
May you be safe.
May you be healthy.
May you live with ease.
Your words don't need to be perfect.
They are the vehicle for your intention which you hold within your heart.
Next,
Bring to mind a friend.
Somebody who is doing quite well.
They may not be perfectly happy,
But they are doing okay in some areas in their life.
Now offer the phrases of loving kindness to them.
May you be safe.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you live with ease.
Now bring to mind a friend who is having a difficult time right now.
Bring them here.
Now offer the same phrases of loving kindness to them.
May you be safe.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy.
May you live with ease.
And then all beings everywhere,
Bring them here.
May all people,
All creatures,
Known and unknown,
Be safe,
Be happy,
Be healthy.
Live with ease.
May you be safe.
May you be happy.
Take a deep breath in.
And a deep breath out.
Allow yourself to bathe in the feeling of loving kindness that you have created.
Go gently with blessings.
Love,
Georgie.
