Hello,
My name is George Peterson and welcome to today's meditation on gratitude.
We begin by finding a comfortable place to sit or lie down and together let's close our eyes and take a long slow deep breath in and gently let it go.
As world renowned female entrepreneur Oprah Winfrey once said,
The single greatest thing you can do to change your life today is to start being grateful for what you have right now.
Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life.
It changes the way we interact with the world and promotes thoughts and behaviors that are life supporting.
On the other hand,
However,
It is often the lack of gratitude that causes negative habits and addictive behaviors to develop as an attempt to pacify our uncomfortable feelings and stress.
Therefore,
It is imperative that we cultivate the power of being grateful.
When we express gratitude,
Our old negative feelings are detoxified,
Making it less likely that we will reach outside of ourselves to produce a change in our emotional state.
This is where meditation comes into play.
If we regularly meditate,
We will be spontaneously led to wherever we need to be led.
Ultimately,
When we meditate,
We are brought into the flow of our lives and begin to co-create our reality.
Therefore,
When we start to ask the question before meditation,
What am I grateful for?
We enable ourselves through this dialogue with the universe to begin co-creating our reality and to be brought into alignment with an attitude of gratitude.
Then,
This grateful heart meditation can aid us in cultivating,
Will enable us to make more life supporting choices so we can transcend our patterns that are no longer serving us.
Now,
Let's prepare to meditate.
Now,
Making sure your eyes are closed and you have found a comfortable seat,
Begin to become aware of the breath,
Not focusing or concentrating.
Just simply observe the breath as it naturally flows in and flows out.
Before we begin our meditation,
Let's silently ask ourselves,
What am I grateful for?
What am I grateful for?
Remembering the quickest way to shift from a negative to a positive is to focus on what we can be grateful for in our lives right now.
An attitude of gratitude is the open door to abundance.
What am I grateful for?
Now,
Releasing anything that might have come up during that dialogue,
Begin silently repeating today's mantra,
So Hum,
So Hum,
So Hum.
So Hum is a Sanskrit word that translates to I Am,
Reminding us that our true nature is infinite,
Unbounded,
And blissful.
Whenever you notice your attention drifts away from silently repeating the mantra,
So Hum,
So Hum,
So Hum,
To thoughts,
Sensations in the body,
Or a noise in the environment,
Gently bring your awareness back to the silent repetition of So Hum,
So Hum,
So Hum.
If you notice you're focused on a particular mood,
Feeling,
Or emotion,
Or waiting for some experience to happen,
Treat this as you would any other thought,
And gently bring your awareness back to the silent repetition of So Hum,
So Hum,
So Hum.
I'll watch the time.
Continue meditating.
When you hear the sound of the chime,
Release the repetition of the mantra,
So Hum,
And continue sitting quietly with your eyes closed.
Enjoy your meditation.
