Welcome to Day 20,
Keystone Habits.
Keystone habits are habits that have a positive ripple effect on our lives,
And it has been our experience that if you are looking for change in all areas of your life,
Including in the area of one of our society's most widespread problems,
Addiction,
That meditation is the ultimate keystone habit.
With that being said though,
Whether or not one of the many addictions our planet offers has affected you,
We believe meditation is one of the best simple ways to improve all aspects of your life.
This is because meditating daily produces a trickle down effect.
This means that by implementing the small change to our lives of meditating daily,
We can generate many positive outcomes in our life.
Because meditation allows us to be the best version of ourselves we can be,
It makes success easier,
Especially when we are overcoming negative habits and addictive behaviors.
As we have already learned,
Meditation is a good positive habit that can improve our lives and helps prevent us from making choices that do not nourish our bodies,
Minds,
Or souls.
Therefore,
We believe that if freedom from addiction is something you desire,
Then meditation is the ultimate keystone habit you can engage in.
It is said that keystone habits lead to the development of multiple good habits,
In that they produce a chain effect of positive outcomes in our lives,
And when it comes to overcoming addictions,
Meditation is a keystone habit that will do just that.
This is because meditation positively improves so many areas of our lives that are connected to addiction,
And it spontaneously leads us to wherever we need to be.
As we have already discovered,
When we meditate,
We positively affect the lives of others and our own life,
And we move in the direction of becoming the best version of ourselves we can be.
Ultimately,
This means when we make the effort to form the habit of meditation in our lives,
Our lives blossom,
Grow,
And get easier to live through without the temporary relief our addictions provide.
Now let's prepare to meditate.
Begin by finding a comfortable seat and closing your eyes.
Now begin to become aware of your breath not focusing or concentrating,
Just simply watch the breath as it effortlessly flows in and out.
Now easily and effortlessly begin silently repeating today's mantra,
Om Kuru Namah.
Continue to repeat this mantra,
Om Kuru Namah.
Whenever you notice yourself distracted by thoughts,
Noises,
Or physical sensations,
Simply return your attention to silently repeating today's mantra,
Om Kuru Namah.
Please continue with your meditation.
I will watch the time.
When it's time to end our meditation,
You will hear me ring a soft chime.
When you hear the chime,
Stop repeating the mantra and continue sitting quietly with your eyes closed.
Enjoy your meditation.
Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah Om Kuru Namah It is time to release silently repeating the mantra and continue sitting quietly with your eyes closed.
Now begin to bring some slight movement into your body wiggling your fingers and toes.
Whenever it feels comfortable slowly open your eyes.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and I look forward to meditating with you again tomorrow for day 21 of navigating recovery and overcoming adversity.
Namaste.
